Re: Delith: A maze

In reply to Aztar (msg # 2):

Shorty sniffs the back trail to see if he is leaving a scent.   He then pulls a people from his pocket and drops it on the path behind them.  Shorty then looks to the left.  "Sword say this hand den dis hand den first hand gin."  Shorty also looks down at his boots and says, "Makes  big track like hairy elephant."

Re: Delith: A maze

In reply to Aztar (msg # 2):

Any marking on the wall or floor begin to fade and disappear.  The acid just pools in a spot as if it were water.  The objects put on the floor just sit there as does the twine.

Re: Delith: A maze

In reply to Shorty (msg # 3):

Shorty must be thinking that everything is betraying him, he does not smell any scent being left.  The boots leave no track at all; but again there is no evidence that anyone moved to this point, beside the items being dropped.

In reply to Ron, The DM (msg # 5):

Morteft says, "Let's move on a bit and then come back to see if the acid is there. If it is, then we can use Shorty's water jug to leave a trail of water behind us. It would be better than nothing."

Which way? There are 3 ways to go, left, straight or left for 10' and then right.

In reply to Shorty (msg # 13):

Morteft will use the bottle from Shorty to dump a trail of water every ten feet or so. After they have gone about 50 feet and through a few turns, he will backtrack to see if it remains or not.

Re: Delith: A maze

In reply to Morteft (msg # 14):

The group continues in the direction they were going.  It goes straight for about 40' and then makes a turn to the left.  Morteft was dropping water as you go.  You go another 10' and the path turns left again, another 10' and then turn right.  At this point Morteft backtracks.  He notices the water most of the way, but before he gets back to the intersection the water is gone.

Morteft returns to the group and says, "That isn't going to work. I feared as much." He hands the jug back to Shorty. "Thanks anyway, big fella."

The other thing you notice was that the twine Aztar dropped still appears to be there.

Morteft will add. "The twine is there, but unless you have an infinite amount, we may need to make a very good map."

Re: Delith: A maze

'I'm making several notes and should be able to keep our direction and distance fairly accurate unless the walls literally shift on us.   If my stones are remaining, I'm marking them with symbols that will tell me enough to figure out the order I dropped them in.  And, with chest, I did bring a substantial amount of twine.'

'This place will have to try very hard to disorient me before I feel lost.  I might not be able to get us where we need to go, but I have every intention of being able to back us out of here if the need arises.  I rarely enter a situation without at least two backup plans.  So, hopefully between my notes, stones and twine, something will remain constant to guide me out.'

Re: Delith: A maze

In reply to Aztar (msg # 20):

OOC: The 'stones' would be there as well; but the post only said small objects so I used the twine as it was named.

As Morteft was turning around a corner he thought he saw something out of the corner of his eye back down the hall.

In reply to Trysk (msg # 23):

As you discuss the next move you notice a 'humaniod' come around the corner.  He is about 6' tall, looks like a fighter and has a faint glow.  To all except Trysk, and maybe Shorty, he looks a bit familiar.

Trysk should be invisible.  If not, he turns invisible and takes a defensive posture.  He attempts to read the fighter's mind using ESP.
