In reply to Ron, The DM (msg # 127):

Trysk holds his head, "Aye, Warwick.  Tell me what you see when you look at the floor, walls and ceiling.  Maybe your dwarves eyes can make better sense of this place."

In reply to Trysk (msg # 128):

"Did it give ye a headache, Trysk?" asks Warwick, knowingly.  "I'll give it another try."  He focuses on the floor, ceiling and then the walls.

In reply to Warwick (msg # 129):

Warwick's head is starting to get a little achy too.  Given everything is so uniform, you have to concentrate very hard; more so than you even realize.  Warwick cannot even use his dwarven senses to detect.

Re: Delith: A maze

In reply to Trysk (msg # 131):

As Trysk waits for Shorty to produce a marble, you notice an object come around the corner.  It is a rather large object and metallic looking, bipedal.  A bit larger than your average Iron golem you would estimate.

It is 30' away from the back of the group, Warwick, which could be considered the front now.  It moves toward you somewhat faster than you would expect.

Actions?

Re: Delith: A maze

Aztar quickly moves backwards, heading towards the golem trying to keep as much distance between the group and the teleport trap assuming that the golem might try to force the group through the portal.  He grips the golem bane staff in both hands as he meets it head on, hoping that it has a riddle or some other way to bypass it.  He does not attack, but meets it as far down the hall as possible.

Ooc:  the first trap we ran into has been deactivated, right?  Not just bypassed for our crossing....?

In reply to Aztar (msg # 134):

Shorty drops the small gem he was fumbling from his marble bag  (OOC sorry did not realize you asked Shorty).  Shorty grabs cracker in one hand and his black sword in the other and moves to block the danger from the group.

Trysk stays near the rear of the party (relative to the golem) and picks up the gem dropped by Shorty.

In reply to Warwick (msg # 133):

Isn't it awfully strange that someone would set up a floor trap, a teleport trap and a golem all in the same area?  A bit overkill, wouldn't you say?"

Re: Delith: A maze

In reply to Trysk (msg # 138):

The golem does not appear to be slowing down as Aztar moves forward getting just beyond Warwick before meeting the golem.  Shorty has to move thru more traffic almost knocking people over as he lumbers past, he will make it to the battle later in the round.

Joe stands his ground not sure what to do, the chest is still.

Current rank, nearest to golem, is Aztar then Warwick, Morteft, Joe, chest - Shorty jumping over it, Trysk.

-Moves for Warwick or Morteft?

Warwick draws his axe and moves to float next to Aztar.  "Let's see if we can reason with it, lad, before we do anything we might later regret."

In reply to Aztar (msg # 143):

As the golem moves in, at about 10' away, a cone of light emanates from its head, engulfing all in the process.

OOC: Everyone make a save against paralyzation.

The golem continues forward.

Attacks may commence after saves are done.

Trysk rolled an 8.  Trysk gets a +2 bonus vs. magical effects, so that's a 10.  I believe he does not make his save.

Warwick makes his save with a 15.  "Right, then, not going to be friendly," he says as he activates the enhanced strength in his battle axe and the fire in his gauntlets.  He strikes out at the golem.

Re: Delith: A maze

Aztar sighs a deep sigh, never relishing combat.  He closes his eyes for a brief moment and when they reopen the green in his eyes almost flares as he draws from his internal strength to attack the golem.

OOC:  Aztar will full attack the golem with the golem bane staff

Actually, Trysk makes his save if his amulet acts as a ring +1 of protection.

Trysk grabs the rat from his box and sends telepathically to the others, "Can you handle the big guy or should I create a rust monster?"

Re: Delith: A maze

In reply to Trysk (msg # 151):

Both Warwick and Aztar attack.  Aztar strikes hard and fast with the staff.  The staff seems to be very effective as the golem takes some heavy damage.  Warwick swings once but his blow glances off the golems arm.

The close up look allows Warwick to tell that the golem is made of mithril.

The golem swings and connects with Warwick, knocking him to the ground and doing 33 pts of damage.

Shorty lumbers up and is able to swing with The Cracker.  He hits with The Cracker, biting into the metal doing some good damage.

The golem prepares to strike again.

Actions?

Morteft is paralyzed, but safe for now behind the combatants. Joe has not moved, just staring at the golem.
