Trysk asks the others telepathically, *Rust monster isn't going to work.  What damages the damn golem besides hitting it with magic weapons?*

Re: Delith: A maze

In reply to Trysk (msg # 153):

Shorty growls angrily as he watches Warwick hit the stones and replies, "A Shorty hurts it."  Shorty then goes after the golem with a vengeance swinging twice with each weapon.  He lashes out first with Cracker <<14 hits AC -8 for 42 points>>  The black sword slices in next <<7 hits AC -7 for 26 points - +3 weapon>>.  Cracker swings again <<19 hits AC -13 for 26 points>>.  Shorty ends his flurry with a stab by the black sword <<17 hits AC -17 for 27 points>>

<<OOC: Damage assumes large creature type>>

In reply to Shorty (msg # 154):

Warwick bounces up off the ground, and flies above, trying to get behind the golem.  *Mithril golem.  Did we discuss their weaknesses?* asks Warwick telepathically.  *Still, me axe should've damaged it.*

Re: Delith: A maze

In reply to Trysk (msg # 156):

Aztar, Shorty and Warwick continue their assault on the golem.  The golem is fast for an animated piece of metal.  Both Aztar and Shorty get in strikes with their special weapons prior to the golems attack.  The Cracker making a thundering Crack as it hits. Despite heavy damage the golem can continue; this time striking Shorty for 34 points.  The heavy blow stuns Shorty momentarily.  Warwick follows with a strike of his own, this time a solid hit.  Aztar follows with another strike, this one has a strange sound however as if hitting a wall that is not so solid.  The golem goes stiff for a moment and then crumbles.

All is quiet in the maze.

Re: Delith: A maze

In reply to Ron, The DM (msg # 157):

Trysk sifts through the remains to see if there are any viable pieces of mithral to collect.

He comments, "Well, that was anti-climatic."

Warwick lands back on the ground.  "Well, that was a bit tougher than I expected.  Aztar, shall we use potions to heal or do ye want me to use me spells?"

Re: Delith: A maze

Aztar stands over the golem for a few seconds, closing his eyes and breathing deeply to regain his composure before turning to Warwick, 'Use the potions.  Better to keep spells for the end or at least if we get low.'

Aztar kneels down and also sifts though the remains looking for something that might be a key.  'We were wold we'd have to defeat a golem to get a key but that its only be good for an hour.  But, we also don't know which golem has the key, so just checking this one.'

After his search, he stands and suddenly realizes what Warwick said,'You thought that would be easier?  We defeated a mithril golem in less than 10 blows.  Between your axe, Shorty's weapons and this staff, I thought that went extremely well.  I just hope we can all resist the paralysis.'

Aztar the turns to look down the hall to see how many of the team did get paralyzed and hope it weds off quickly.

In reply to Aztar (msg # 160):

Shorty shakes himself out of his fog muttering.  "Wakes.  Canna be gets fuzzy fer such little slapping".   Shorty looks sadly at his non functional glove and then tosses his white marble into the air over his head.

Re: Delith: A maze

In reply to Aztar (msg # 160):

Warwick heads over to the chest and pulls out a few bottles of extra healing and hands two to Shorty, downing the contents of one of them, himself.

"Aye, I hadn't expected it to move as quickly as it did.  And I thought me axe wouldn't have any problem penetrating it."

Re: Delith: A maze

In reply to Aztar (msg # 160):

Unfortunately there is no key in the remains of the golem.  The pieces also seem to be worthless as far as mithril, the magic to create the construct must also consume the properties once it is destroyed.

Warwick gets 17 back and Shorty gets 16 back from the potions.

Warwick grabs more potions for both him and Shorty.  "We need to get back to full strength," he says as a way of an explanation.

Aztar simply sighs, turns around and heads back to the last intersection and waits to see if everyone else follows.
