With a slight sigh, Aztar checks to make sure everyone is healed and then will start moving in the direction RockJaw indicates.

Re: Delith: 'Following' the golem

In reply to Trysk (msg # 73):

You all move to the door.  There does not appear to be anything special about the door, other than it is an obvious door as you can see the outline and you can see a large ring that can be pulled to open the door.

Trysk gives it a once over to check for traps, he finds none.

Shorty pulls open the door.

Beyond is a hallway, you think, the walls, ceiling and floor are completely black, totally opposite to the previous section.  As with the previous section there is no contrast so it is quite difficult to see edges, corners or what ever.  Any light seems to be absorbed by the the area.  You think that once the door is shut, you would be in complete darkness.

The only other thing of interest is a golem of gleaming silver like metal, making it easily seen in contrast to the area around.  It looks to be about 30' away.  It does not move.

In reply to Ron, The DM (msg # 74):

Trysk eyes the golem and then the door, "Anyone got a torch and a continual light spell?  This place reeks of a trap, unless we can lure the golem to us."

Re: Delith: 'Following' the golem

Aztar walks over to chest and asks for a light rod.  When chest opens, Aztar grabs a stick that he strikes on a metal object which then begins glowing.   He tosses the light stick through the door to observe what happens.  'I'm not sure it's specifically a trap, but rather just another section of the maze and a new challenge to deal with. '

Turning to RockJaw, he asks,'can you sense your way through the next section of the maze or does it take some time to attune yourself as we move into the dark zone?'

Re: Delith: 'Following' the golem

In reply to Aztar (msg # 76):

The chest does as Aztar asks and opens up.  The light is bright, until Aztar tosses it into the other section.  It now appears quite dull, similar to a single candle.  It is as if the area absorbs light rather than being devoid of light.

RockJaw responds, "I will attune soon, then I can guide.  I sense the golem is a questing golem."

Re: Delith: 'Following' the golem

In reply to Trysk (msg # 82):

Trysk leads the group toward the golem.  He has difficulty scanning for traps as it is difficult to even know if you are putting your foot down on a solid surface.  You make it to the golem, taking it slowly to go the 30' to get to it.

When you get near the golem a metallic voice will come from it.

"For passage beyond, answer correctly, 'Alone I am a singularity, with a brother I am liner and as a trio I am planar.  What am I?'"

Aztar nods, 'I agree with your answer.  Go ahead and state it out loud'. The alchemist grips the staff just in case but is fairly confident the answer is the correct one.

The golem simply disappears.

There are two ways to go, the golem was at a T intersection.  Each path goes 20' before turning .

RockJaw says: "I have not been tuned to this section yet."
