Delith:To Save a World

In reply to Ron, The DM (msg # 54):

Warwick makes a wide turn, zigging and zagging to make it harder to find him with any ranged attack.  He casts negative plane protection and heads toward Shorty, using his holy symbol to heal him.

Via their telepathic link, he says, *C'mon lads, we need to get to that treeline.*

In reply to Warwick (msg # 55):

Morteft says telepathically, *Come to me and I will teleport us to a point in the air near it. It will be a little dangerous, but better than this fight.*

He casts a wall of force between the enemy and this group.

In reply to Warwick (msg # 57):

Shorty will attempt to back towards Morteft as directed.  If he can freely disengage he will, if not he will attack again depending on his sword to heal him when needed.  <<OOC:  I can roll if needed or you can roll for me>>

Delith:To Save a World

In reply to Trysk (msg # 61):

The three foes appear to allow you to dis-engage, as you all retreat back to Morteft and Trysk.  The warrior who engaged Shorty moves back to his position next to the other two.  You see a large smirk on his face as you move away.

Once grouped together Mortfet Teleports you all to the tree line.  His Teleport comes in near  the tree line and a little high, Shorty comes down with a bit of a thud but the rest of you are fine.

You look back toward the three and you see they have turned to look at you.  In the distance you notice a cloud of dust coming this way.  You surmise it is the rest of the destructive group.  They will arrive in a minute or two.

Some will also notice that the cleric raised his are holding the rod, followed by a huge wall of flame appearing just in front of you.  It is easily 20' high and over 100'across, it is also moving .. toward you all!  The heat is already intense.

OOC:  I read it between us and our enemies and moving towards us.

"Trysk, lad, I don't think we can outrun the wall of fire, so we'd better stop as much of it as we can and then we go find the Druid."

In reply to Warwick (msg # 69):

Morteft casts a wall of force in front of the group and in front of the wall of fire.

OOC: It didn't look like he had cast it before so I think it is available. 20' square so 240 feet long and 20 feet high. Should be enough to block the fire.

He will also use his energy control to protect the group if something else comes toward them.

Delith:To Save a World

In reply to Shorty (msg # 68):

OOC: Ah, sorry, the fire wall is between you and the 3 enemy.  The forest is behind you and you can easily outrun the fire; however it will get to the trees a ignite them in short order.

As far as Shorty's firehose, it is not able to do much as the fire continually churns and builds.

You believe the Wall of force will impede it's progress however.

The other thing is that the wall of fire does block your view of the enemy and most likely the reverse is true.

Re: Delith:To Save a World

In reply to Warwick (msg # 76):

OOC: moving to the forest

You all start to head into the forest away from the fire.  Some of you notice that even though the walls of force have protected you from the intense flame you also notice that it does not fully halt the fires progress.  It is then you realize that it looks like walls of flame erupt one after another, so that the flame is not really moving, more like being built a section at a time.  The edge of the forest is a little thin but quickly thickens, mostly hard wood trees.    As you move thru the trees you can notice some droop to the leaves, a result of the heat no doubt.

As you look up you also notice very dark clouds quickly moving over the forest towards the fire and desolated land.  The clouds have an angry greenish tint.  You also hear a sound rolling toward you, almost like clapping but not in unison.

It then hits you in a wave of massive drops of water, a rain so hard and intense it hurts when it hits your skin.  You can hear the water turn to steam as it encounters the fire behind you.  There is not let up to the torrent as you weave your way thru the trees.

The trees have thickened but even so the rain is getting thru the leaves, and it is difficult to see more than 40'.  Then, in a slight break, you see a dark figure up ahead at the edge of your site.  Bipedal probably, but no features can be seen, just a dark outline.  The figure is quite large as well, smaller than Shorty but bigger than a normal human.  Then you see a couple large dark shapes flank the first, their movement suggests 4 legged beasts.

The 3 dark shapes remain motionless as they are pelted by the rain.

Warwick continues to move towards the figures.  Telepathically, *I'm guessing that's the druid and a few of his friends.  Let's be polite and I suggest sheathing your weapons.*  Warwick does just that as he runs.
