Re: Delith:To Save a World:Battle line

In reply to Shorty (msg # 806):

After the fireworks and cheering subside, the World Council, as a group, moves forward just a couple of feet from Shorty (only moved about 8').  Alannon regards Shorty "Down on one knee please Shorty."  assuming Shorty does as Alannon instructs, Alannon will take his staff and gently tap both of Shorty's shoulders and announces "Based of the confession of those with you and the acceptance from the Five Elements of Arcturus I hereby proclaim you to be Sir Shorty, Green Knight of Arcturus!"

Again a mighty roar goes up from the crowd and Alannon says "Arise Sir Shorty."  the roar continues.

Re: Delith:To Save a World:Battle line

In reply to Shorty (msg # 808):

Alannon smiles: "You are indeed correct Shorty, there is much work to do; however we would not have you take up your task without providing you with the Green Knights equipment." he claps twice and Alannon steps aside.  Behind him 2 humans appear, one pushes a wooden post on wheels and hanging from the post is a large set of armor, and the other carries a large 2-handed sword in is scabbard .. both wear a combination of green and brown robes.  As they come thru between the other council members they split and stand on either side of Shorty, the crowd is now in a low murmur.  Alannon resumes his spot.

Alannon: "The Council will now present the Green Knight his mantle of office."  Alannon pulls the armor from the post, the human then moves off with the post back behind the council.  The armor looks to be green leather with a pattern of an oak tree on it.  "May this armor protect you during your charge as the Green Knight." Alannon announces and presents the armor to Shorty.  Then Alannon takes the scabbard & sword, . "To protect Arcturus and any world you find yourself apart, we present to you a weapon befitting the Green Knight, forged from Arcturus and the surrounding heavens, the sword Tainkintana."  Alannon presents the sword to Shorty.

Another huge cheer goes up from the crowd.  Alannon holds up his hand to bring them back to a low murmur.

"Finally" Alannon announces "a special gift." he produces from his robes a gold circlet in the shape of oak leaves sewn together.  He moves toward Shorty to place it on his head. "The Diadem of Clarity"

After placing the diadem upon Shorty's head, Alannon steps back and nods.

The crowd erupts in another roar that again goes on for minutes.

In reply to Trysk (msg # 809):

Shorty bows to Alannon and then to the council and finally to the crowd.  He then turns to the druid and says, "Me thanks for bery pretty gift.  Me tries to use well for all people dis world." Shorty touches the crown on his head and asks, Bees okay fer fightin?  Me gets hit in hard head much times." He then fingers the armor and studies it as he hasn't worn leather since being a much smaller ogre.  Finally he touches the hilt of the sword.  He then says, "Sword gots name.  It gonna tries tell Shorty what do?" Shorty then gathers his thoughts as well as he can and carefully grasps the sword by the hilt,  If it doesn't react, he will slowly draw it out to examine the blade.

Re: Delith:To Save a World:Battle line

In reply to Shorty (msg # 812):

Alannon responds to Shorty's question "Yes, it is ok for fighting; although it is more to protect what is inside you head."

The scabbard is made of a dark brown leather held together by leather threading and there is a stiffness to it.  The hilt & pommel of the sword shine like polished silver and there is a small gold ball at the end of the pommel.  The pommel is wrapped in the same dark leather as the scabbard.

OOC: There will ne more to come as things unfold.

In reply to Shorty (msg # 816):

Shorty pulls the blade out of the scabbard, it is a long draw given it is a 2-handed sword in size although Shorty can handle it as a bastard sword.  The blade of the sword gleams brightly in the sunlight.  It has a brilliant polished silver look.

Re: Delith:To Save a World:Battle line

In reply to Shorty (msg # 822):

Alannon smiles: "Yes my friends Tainkintana is an intelligent weapon and quite powerful. Details later, but now we celebrate."  then William speaks to him.  "Ah yes"  says Alannon  "We are not forgetful of the Green Knights companions."

Out of his robes he pulls a crystal staff and presents it to Morteft.

"This is the Staff of the Four Winds, it will allow you to cast various spells related to air.  Even though it looks brittle it is as strong as steel and can be used as a weapon."
He then hands the staff to Morteft.

He reaches into his robes again and pulls out a belt that has 5 gems on it, a ruby, sapphire, diamond, emerald, garnet; which he presents to Trysk.
"This is an Elemental Belt that will provide some protection against elemental magic."

Again he reaches into his robes and pulls out boots with little wings on them and presents to Warwick.  "These are Winged Boots, I have heard you may be in need of them."

Alannon steps back

"We shall talk of these things later.  It is time now for the celebration and for the citizens of Arcturus to meet their champion."

The council parts and you see many tables filled with food and drink.  The stands start to empty as all types of creatures make their way towards Shorty to greet him.

Dualis quickly come over to the other three "Get yourselves something to eat and drink.  There are some things we need to discuss which we can do while we eat."

Trinny and Sir Joshua make their way towards the food.

Actions?

Re: Delith:To Save a World:Battle line

In reply to Ron, The DM (msg # 823):

Shorty returns his sword to its scabbard and starts to follow but then pauses for a moment.  He hits the quick releases for his field plate and it begins to clatter to the floor.  He looks for a place to store it but then shrugs and shoves it into a pile near the armor stand.  He then pulls the new leather over his tunic.  He places the new scabbard on his shoulder belt and leaves the scabbard from the black sword on the floor as well.  The Shorty hurries to catch up with his friends and moves into the crowd. Shorty greets all the animals and humanoids (not many) that come to greet him, he appears to understand their 'native' language as they speak to him.
