It sounds like juvenile talk to Shorty. Nothing specific yet.

Shorty moves closer to the opening.  He continues to listen.  His hand slips into the side picket of his backpack and comes out with ane of his sausage roles.

Morteft replies, *I can cast one more. One minute.*

He casts wizard eye and sends it forward.

In reply to Morteft (msg # 33):

The eyes go down the tunnel, not long after the first curve does it open into a small 'room'.  Inside is a family of winter wolves, 2 adults 3 pups.

This is a dead end.

Morteft studies the winter wolves for a moment. He then casts wall of stone over the entrance of the tunnel.

*Let's move on. We can deal with them later.*

In reply to Warwick (msg # 38):

Just for clarification, the bodies were clearly mutilated by edged weapons, not tooth and claw.

Nothing special about the winter wolves.  The adults watch as the pups play.

Morteft puts up the wall of stone.

Next?

In reply to Trysk (msg # 40):

OOC: I am going to do a small retro, it will not affect Trysks last move just add some to the side story, as I believe Shorty would do the following

It will happen prior to Morteft casting the Wall of Stone.

When Shorty hears Mortefts report from the eyes he moves boldly but still cautiously and holding out the sausages.

Shorty then hears some low growling like noises but not an actually growl.  He understands it though "Kids, stay near your mother." the voice is stern and you can hear some claws on the ice.  Shorty then hesitates briefly and says in perfect winter wolf.  "I am friend, I will not harm you."  he gets a reply "I do not know your smell, who are you?"

The rest of you hear some low growls.

OOC: Larry can take over from here.

In reply to Ron, The DM (msg # 43):

Shorty takes a knee where the wolves can clearly see his hands.  He pulls up the first meat roll and opens it.  He eats a small bite of the meat.  “It no bad.  Me eats.”  Shorty tosses tge rikk wutg tge sausage and bacon exposed to where the male can smell it.  “Has muches more.”

Shorty gives the male time to sniff the meat.  “Lady know all aminals dat run free.  Ask me ta keeps safe.  Youse wants be dis place or wants be free to run an hunt?”

Shorty does his best to fill his friends in mentally, but is more focused on the wolves.

The wolf sniffs the meat and seems agreeable, "This way." he growls "he then growls again "all ok" apparently to his family.  "This is our home, good hunting, the big blues leave us alone so all good."

He lets you food his pups.  Both parents watch as you do.

In reply to Trysk (msg # 40):

OOC: just after Shorty finishes with the wolves.

Going back to the right fork at the entrance leads to a large ledge on the west side of the crevasse.  This area is slightly higher in elevation than the other side and you can fully see the ledge you just came from, you can even make out part of the other ledge too.

This ledge is a bit wider than the other, about 60' in places.  Goes SW for about 50' and then curves to the west, at the beginning of the curve is a large cave opening, about 20' wide.

Actions?

Ez’ard puts the jewelry back in the pocket it came from and heads out with the rest. He notices the wolf following, gives it a respective nod and plenty of space.
