Delith: Into the Unknown

In reply to Ez'ard (msg # 44):

Trinny replies to Ez'ard "You can have one in your room but not in the library.  Celestron is a little touchy on things like that."

"Morteft, I'm assuming you can cast one on our fearless leader and yourself. I'll memorize a couple of them tomorrow in case someone loses their while we're still in Quasquenton."

Delith: Into the Unknown

In reply to Shorty (msg # 49):

It is next morning (as far as you know).  You all gather in the library for breakfast .. steak and eggs .. a traditional send off.

Trinny and Art are there initially chatting away, Trysk does his morning thing and is back.

Dualis bursts in "OK, little time to chat.  I have good news and I have bad news." he does not wait for your choice "I found out who made the box which is the good news.  The bad news was that it was Zelegar.  Now there is no mention that Zelegar was a Fire Elementalist, basically a must for the spell to create the box.  So either he was initially and no one knew or he changed later, which would be very unusual.  So if he is, then you have the classic fire and ice attack which is very effective.  Why he made the box and why to enclose the opal are still unknown, undoubtedly diabolical in nature.  A mystery for you all to discover perhaps." When you are ready we will show you the area you are to start."

Delith: Into the Unknown

In reply to Ron, The DM (msg # 50):

Trysk raises his hand, "A couple of questions: 1) Should I bring the fire opal?; 2) Are fire and cold spells ineffective against Zelegar? and 3) Is it a bit suspicious that Morteft and I chanced upon this box in a magic store right before this mission?"

Delith: Into the Unknown

In reply to Trysk (msg # 51):

Dualis responds to each question. "I would say take it. If Zelegar wanted it out of the way then bringing it back could cause him difficulty.  Cold spells will not affect a lich and one would suspect he has some protection against fire just not 'naturally so.  Actually no given recent events.  The box was created recently, the return of the pair was recent otherwise we would have heard something before and Delith tends to have the best shops so a logical place to take the box if help is needed; which it would be in this case.  Fortuitous yes, suspicious no."

Ez’ard waits for a gap in the conversation and replies, “Umm, I know we went different directions to get some personal things done before the next mission here… But what box and opal are you all yammering about? Oh and this is Sharak, during some of my time I performed the find familiar spell. I chanted and chanted some more for hours… Thought it wasn’t going to work and I’d have to wait another year; again… Pretty cool huh!”

Ez’ard starts digging into pockets and pouches looking for items based on the conversation. I pulls off one ring and replaces it with another and places an amulet around his neck.

Delith: Into the Unknown

In reply to Ez'ard (msg # 53):

Trysk responds to Ez'ard, "Morteft and I were in a magic shop in Delith that had this box with a picture of flames on the outside they couldn't open. I bought it and brought it back. Dualis opened it and inside was a fire opal that we suspect Zelegar wanted some salamanders to bring back to the Plane of Fire. I guess I'll go get the gem and make some adjustments to my spells before we leave."

Trysk heads upstairs and will return when it is time to leave.

Trinny then says "If you are ready can head outside."

In reply to Trysk (msg # 58):

Once outside Trysk produces the falcon figurine, gives the command and the falcon appears on his shoulder.  The falcon looks around and stops at Ez'ard and his hawk.  The falcon begins to shake it's head and then speaks, with a highborn tone "Now we are imposed upon by peasantry, such calamity."

Shorty stares at the falcon as it speaks.  He opens his mouth and the harsh cries of a bird of prey come from his mouth.  After several moments of speaking to the bird, Shorty truns an intense, evaluating gaze on Trysk.
