Delith: Into the Unknown

OOC:Next thread, this begins with everyone finally back in the HQ library and is evening

You are all in the meeting room that is set on a mountain side.  Trinny and Art are there just chit chatting waiting on Dualis to arrive.  You have all noticed the library has been fairly quiet lately, low activity and Dualis seems to be preoccupied with something as he has not been around the library much.  One difference most of you notice is a hawk perching on Ez'ard's shoulder.

Sometime later Dualis walks in and says "OK, settle down." whether or not there was much activity.  He waves his hand and an overhead view of the region around Methorian appears 'on' the table.  The area is somewhat hilly with almost equal area of forest and grassy slopes.  The cardinal directions can be scene on the map edges.  To the East of Methorian is a small village and beyond that is a marker showing a goblin camp and somewhat between these but of to the North is another symbol, that of a fancy 'Q'.

"You have chosen you next mission to explore the ancient stronghold of Quasquenton which was created by two adventurers of the time known as Zelegar the mage and Roghan the warrior.  They had numerous exploits many of them dubious so even though they were called heroes of the time their track record tells a slightly different story.  In any case they were very successful and eventually built Quasquenton for their base of operations and had a fanatical group of followers.  They had disappeared in peculiar circumstances while going off to battle a barbarian kingdom; which apparently was their wont." He indicates Morteft "Morteft had recently obtained information that a small group of adventurers happened upon the entrance to Quasquenton and explored, with the result being one lone and very much delirious survivor who found his way to Methorian and was attended to by priests.  He eventually provided some sketchy information about Quasquenton and has recently died from a mysterious cause, foul play is suspected." he then looks over at Warwick "Warwick and I had actually been in the vicinity recently to deal with the goblins there and I noticed some strange mystical signatures.  Given the information from Morteft it pointed to Quasquenton as the source.  It is my belief that Zelegar and Roghan have returned from whence they came and still have their retinue, albeit in an undead state. It is most likely Zelegar is a lich and Roghan a skeletal warrior although Death Knight cannot be ruled out but I see that as highly unlikely." he looks at you all "This is a bit of a wild card and is best looked after now before things get too hectic."

Trysk asks Dualis, "How close can we Teleport to the entrance? Any chance we can also get a visual of the area in advance?"

In reply to Trysk (msg # 2):

"Perhaps 200 yards." is Dualis' response "You will have to search for the entrance, the overgrown tower will give you the general area.  Once you are there you can get a visual. It is mostly grassy hills with patches of trees and shrubs.  The hill with the tower is reported to be very shrubbed."

Trysk looks to Warwick, "What's the plan? I can cast Stoneskin tonight on those who need one."

Trysk looks to the party members to see who needs one.

Warwick looks at Trysk "I would like to hear any other thoughts before forming a strategy; but the Stoneskins sound like a good idea lad."

Trysk nods, "Well, Morteft and I did a little shopping this morning; primarily for anti-undead magic. I picked up a Helm of Brilliance. Didn't find to many useful things. A couple of Control Undead potions, a Heward's Handy Haversack, a long sword Flametongue..."

Ez’ard asks Sharak, “Would you be willing to fly over the area to see what is going on? Stay high so it looks like you are just hunting for dinner? Any trouble you come back quick. Do you know what undead creatures are?”

OOC: Shorty is either still flying or in a car trying to get to the daughter-in-law-law’s home. Should get on later if he isn’t too tired/worn out from the trip.

Delith: Into the Unknown

In reply to Trysk (msg # 12):

Dualis responds "Search and destroy evil I would say. I am not sure how extensive the based is and there are numerous protections on it.  Plus you would probably need to bring down the hillside to raze it.  Further there is reported to be some interesting features, natural, and it could be a shame to destroy."

Trysk raises an eyebrow, "I didn't know there was more than one guild that you destroyed, but I'm referring to the one run by Astun Ulderan. Speaking of which, is that place still unoccupied? I was thinking of acquiring it..."

Ez’ard  nods his head at Sharak’s response and responds to the group, “I will need to redo my prepared spells before we head out, I’ve been working on learning some new spells. Sharak is willing to check things out from the air but has no experience with undead so will only be able to report seeing any type of creature. And Stoneskin would be nice, will need to learn that one some day.”
