Delith: Raid on Black Doom

In reply to Morteft (msg # 922):

Something strange is happening, Morteft stands almost rigid while the homunculus flutters like a cabbage butterfly.  The pair seem to be magically entangled and this strange behavior goes on for several seconds.  Then things take another turn, Morteft seemingly begins to melt and change color.  Another few seconds later, where Morteft stood, is a puddle, a gooey mass of a putrid green color.

The homunculus then continues back to the shaft of light.

Actions?

Trysk grimaces, *Warwick, I'm not sure my Dispel Magic is powerful enough.*

Trysk casts Dispel Magic on the Polymorph Other spell on Morteft.

Delith: Raid on Black Doom

In reply to Shorty (msg # 925):

Fritz looks downcast seeing the puddle that once was a human "Too bad, if I could use Nightmare I could dispel that, alas cannot."

After Shorty's query Fritz says "You mean Gallion?  Powerful mage, not an arch-mage but I believe he is close.  Something of an adviser to her ladyship.  He also enjoys a little R&R .. ravage and ruthlessness.  He may single out individuals that are below 'standards' and remove them."

Trysk casts Dispel Magic on the green puddle/Morteft.  Nothing seems to happen to the slimy substance, except for a little bubble pops on its surface, gas maybe?

OOC: Warwick does have the best chance

Does Arye have a chance to release a volley of arrows at the fleeing homunculus?  If so, he'll loose a volley at the creature.

OOC: Morteft is higher level than Warwick, even if he was the same it would still be 50/50.  Ayre can try, Warwick can try again too.
Slimes cannot move.

Shorty will push the great sword closer to the slime.

OOC: Yes, slimes CAN move. At least in my game...a MV of 0 just means everything else moves waaaaay faster, i.e. They are just super slow otherwise they couldn't drop. :)

In reply to Morteft (msg # 938):

OOC: It explicitly says slimes cannot move, they can drop - but that is gravity - no locomotion themselves.  Yes Mortefts items morph with him

Warwick casts another Dispel Magic, the slime puddle bubbles furiously, and begins to rise in a column and take form, about a minute later Morteft stands before you all again.

OOC: BTW, nice 'slime' character image.

How did the slime get on the ceiling if it cannot move?

OOC: So you are saying mold moves on it own accord, moss, fungi in general ... hmmmm

Fritz says, "No not really.  My rooms are one of the safest but can be breached.  Plus her lady sent a request with urgency.  If you delay, a breach of protocol, she may summon the entire retinue and you will be overwhelmed.  If you go promptly, then you have a chance."

Fritz definitely leaves that last bit open to the more discerning of the group.

Trysk looks at Morteft, "You ready to move?"

He also sends to Morteft, *Swap you my Staff of Power for your Cloak of Displacement for this next encounter.*
