Re: News from Megalos
Wulfe considered the ideas carefully. He was no strategist but it was something he had to become, he felt, in his new role. Never before had his considerations of what people should do in a battle been such a real issue for him. Back when he was a soldier, sitting around a campfire with his friends and unit it was easy for people to drink a little and announce to the rest of the group what strategies and tactics they'd employ to win the day. Numbers of them would provide their announcement that a flank left followed by some dividing push in the centre from a nearby hillock would win the day, and Wulfe had joined in, but ultiamtely it was perhaps more complex than that.
Simpler times he thought inwardly.
Wulfe had a decent amount of time leading men after being given a command by the king but nothing he had encountered to date had really been on the scale that it was for Thomas Hawk or Gedan. In fact all considerations at that level were out of his hands and usually offered to the more experienced higher ranks.
Wulfe leaned on the nearby wall and sipped some of the tea he'd taken, lost in thought for a moment or two. "The way I see it, and they are all fine suggestions, that maybe the gargoyles wouldn't want any part in a man's war and Megalos would just sit down the pass out of range of any throwers that Gedan put on their defence. They're definitely good to have in case the worst happens. But if I were the general of that army, knowing what I did about Gedan, a blockade would be the right thing. Any assault would result in massive loss of the attackers, you can't starve them out if their greenery is so bountiful so maybe they're just trying to block the trade from Gedan in an effort to fuck with the money. As soon as people start running out of that they'll start getting angry and weaken its position. he said, using a slightly more vulgar and casual tone - the way he talked with friends - lost in thought.
"The dwarf passage being built is a great asset to Gedan, especially if Megalos doesn't know of its existence, maintaining an army is expensive and if they're doing it to try and wreck the wealth of Gedan then that tunnel will ultimately make it a stalemate.
If you really want to get rid of them, cut their supply. he said finally.

I dunno if i wrote it well enough to give the right impression - but was being diplomatic in his suggestion - at least he wasn't trying to undermine anyone's suggestion
