Joe is staying out of standard melee range of the shorty short for a reason.  "Hello, the giant building and loud howling were rather attention getting."

The little boy answers, "Hello. My name is Hedía. Wanna play?"

Bridget thinks on this and pulls out her yo-yos (she did show Mitts the basics of yo-yo use on the way here, btw).

"Sure do!" Mits 2 agrees, black-flipping for joy!  "Oh yay!  Wait till you see Bridget's yo yo tricks!"

Mits hmms.  "Loving the amazing outfit, Hedía.  I can sense adventure, and my magical sense led me here.  You may be in danger."

She cups her hands to her ears to exaggeratedly search for the source of the danger.

"That depends on what you wanted to play, really.  One time I agreed to it without asking involved head on cart collisions"  Playing chicken, with chicken carts. Very zen.

Mittens can sense Hedía is the source. Hedía gasps, startled and amazed by Mittens' backflip.

He then watches Bridget's yo-yos with curiosity.

Hedía smiles at Mittens at the mention of the amazing outfit. "Thanks! Daddy made this for me. You sense adventure? That is an amazing power..."

He looks at Joe. "I wanna plaaaaaaay.... hide and seek! You all hide and I'll seek!"

"You're welcome, Hedía!  And thanks for your compliment.  Said adventure sense is pointing right at you.  Last time that happened, an evil spirit was lurking inside the nice person."

"But we can play hide and seek first.  Because trying to find the reason for the nice person being the source didn't go anywhere.  I know the perfect hiding place!"

Hide and seek Vs two people with nonstandard perceptions.  Lucky for Hedia Mittens and Joe occasionally try to be polite.

"That could work, what do you think Bridget?"

Bridget smiles. "Sure... why not?"

Bridget feels for the poor boy. Being the adventure is not as fun as it may sound.

Hedía covers his eyes. "I'm gonna countdown from 30... 29... 28..."

Bridget hurries off.

Mittens 2 hides on the ceiling.  Classic!  Mittens finds a statue to hide behind.  Especially one she'll have to take a weird pose to be hidden by.

Joe meanwhile, combines work with play by sneaking further into the area Hedia opened up to both hide from Hedia and see what the entry was hiding lots of H words.

"...2 ...1. Ready or not! Here I come!" Hedía rushes off to look for the PCs. He finds Bridget first and then Mittens1. "I wonder where the other two could be..."

Hedía wanders around a bit.

"I'll give you a clue on one of them.  You'd need a special power to get to where she's hiding."

It's hard to decide if it means Joe is good at being an adventurer, or bad at it for seeing a room full of guarded treasure and deciding the best course of action would be to ignore it for now.

Now, Joe is going for the audacious method of waiting how long it takes for Hedia to try 'look behind him'.

Not long. Hedía looks over at Joe with a mischievous smile. Then looks up at Mittens. "Spotted ya! I win!"

He cheers and dances in place.

Bridget looks at Mittens.

Hedía says, "OK. So... why didn't you try to take my treasure?"

Mittens 2 floats down from the ceiling to tap the boy on the nose with a big smile, "So you could say that our treasure is you!"

Hedía goes cross-eyed to look at his nose when nose-booped. Then wiggles his nose, looking up at Mittens. "OK... um... gosh. You guys played with me AND you didn't steal my treasure. I dunno how to deal with my job now."

Bridget asks, "What job?"

Hedía says, "End of the age, Doom of the world, blabla etc etc. I hafta do it. Daddy said so."

Mittens 2 head-tilts curiously.  "Who's your daddy?"

"Yeah the world being destroyed is seriously overrated.  Though did your dad tell you WHY you had to destroy the world, and if you'd survive the process?"

Mits smiles impishly.  "My parents told me to stay home.  Don't become an adventurer.  So I left home, and haven't regretted it since!  Making your own choices in spite of what parents want is a natural part of growing up!"

"Mittens is hardly the right person to be offering good words for someone who misses their parent, nevertheless I feel I should point out that you have plenty left of your daddy without destroying the world.  Matter of fact, you'd have less of him if you did destroy.  For example!  You have this place that you shared!  And your treasure!  That would be gone."

Mits 2 hmms.  "Was wondering of the old man was still around or not."

"Hmm, you might be a Revenant then?  Which means you are still alive enough to die.  Fully dead, and you'd be in some variety of afterlife, or reincarnated, any number of metaphysical things.  But you wouldn't be here talking to us.  Though that could be a variety of causes I'm not exactly an expert on.  So we need to be sure it's a quality job, and not something that will stop if you ever leave this place."

Though if his whole existence is 'sit here and wait to cause the apocalypse, that wouldn't be much of a reason for him to not risk it.
