The kingdom of Gallotros has possibly the longest history of any current kingdom, stretching back to times when most ruins were still thriving cities. Gallotros has survived many a threat to its existence; poverty, famine, war... Gallotros made it through all of those things that should have spelled its end many times over. Today, it is one of the larger kingdoms, though not top dog. And once again, a discovery has the stubborn survivor of a kingdom on the brink of war.

A new mine was uncovered, with rich glowing minerals inside. The properties are still a mystery, but it's becoming clear there are many uses for such a natural yet cold light source...

(OOC: This isn't guild, much as I enjoy that story and having it as a continuous story, this thread is specifically to go all out nuts with our taste for fantasy specifically while guild can keep it's "we are mostly ever in Greyhawk" feel for now. Lucky is a somewhat tannish-for-an-Elf archer who got his nickname from his accurate longshot.  He's no native to this kingdom, but has been staying here long enough to consider it home and is rather unhappy about the threat of war.  Today he's standing in line outside the recruiter's office to wait his turn to volunteer for the defense of the city should it come to that.

  So, "Go all out nuts" huh?  Well in that case, Dual Manifestation Genasi without Necessarily Being Epic!...  Baby steps it seems.  But yes, Hoal has got his 'Voidsoul+Cindersoul At Same Time' on.  Cosmetic differences being his Tron Lines pulsing orange glow flowing towards the inky black void over his heart...  Though that's a bit hard to tell as he's wearing clothes.

  While defense of the realm is not a direct goal at moment, he may not be adverse to it.  Currently he is more curious about 'unidentified glowing Rocks'.  Quite likely the same as many others.

The recruitment office lets Lucky in and gets him signed on as an official defender. "You are to report to Emerald. She is currently in charge of the mine." the recruiter says, directing Lucky where to go. Thankfully, Hoal's curiosity is bringing him to the same spot Lucky is going and Emerald already is.

There are a few elves. Not so many genasi. And Emerald's appearance definitely comes as a shocker to most as her race isn't even known about for the most part. Upon seeing the new defenders arrive at the mine, the fox with glasses and some arcane robes on glances up at them from her paperwork, over her glasses. Emerald stands up, the familiar jingle of chain mail able to be heard from under her robes as she takes the glasses off and puts them away. "Welcome. I'm Emerald. The rumors you have heard of Gallotros being under siege are not true yet, but sabotage has already begun. I need you all on the lookout for any activity that seems unusual. You'll soon learn what is and isn't normal around here as you ask questions. So please, feel free to ask. That is your first assignment."

"Does being an Elf in a mine count as unusual?" Lucky wonders aloud, "And thanks for the welcome, Mam."
