Mittens takes a step back and fires a pair of missiles from her shoulder cannon.

"So what, there's a one in six chance this thing won't attack everything next to it?  Weird.  Even the plate armor duergar had more issues reusing his fire heal than this thing does doing it's whirling dervish dance."

Minotaur HP: 35-3-3=29 Moving my attack to after Terdisas' in the interest of finishing this encounter sooner.

  Terdisas was hoping to not start the day in such an extreme manner, but considering the circumstances it was for the best.  The sorcerer continues his other trend alongside his binary states of 'perfectly healthy' vs 'near cripple', as he switches from harmless wiffothon to showcasing that there is no such thing as overkill.

  Either way, the tree trunk thick lightning cobra decides that bronze minotaur eyes are the best place to sink it's fangs, pumping more lightning in the place of venom slagging the metallic head before it disperses to a mere spark that zaps the already injured heretic like a really bad case of static.

  "Tweet, is it still overkill when it's only just enough to defeat something?"  "Overkill is more of a philosphical argument, really."  Now, it was down to enemies that his melee inclined allies had a reasonable chance to actually hit...  That teleport away every time they are hit with melee...

  So you see, 4th edition is like 3rd/3.5/Pathfinder where it counts.  Casters having it easy while those who have to take the enemy head on are basically slapped in the face.
Standard: Serpentine Blast vs Bronze, Hits (24 Reflex). 31-5= 26 Lightning DMG.
ACTION POINT: Standard, Lightning Strike vs Bronze, Hits (25 Reflex).  Minimum of 14-5 = 9 DMG.

Bronze HP: 35-26= 9-Guaranteed= DEAD
Heretic 2 HP: 56-4= 52/60

Terdisas HP: 20/42
S 6, V 10, AP 0

Seeing the minotaur downed, Dido heads towards the tieflings and smacks them both good with his hammer, a crazed look in his eyes. "I" WHAM! "SAID" SPLAT! "SURRENDER!!!" ZIP! ....zip? Yes. These guys teleported the moment Dido smacked them.


Ongoing damage: 5
Move: To tieflings
Minor: Call of Challenge on H1 and H2
Standard: Strength from Valor v H1, H2. Hit(28)! Hit(27)!
 dmg: 8
 Dido gains 10 temporary HP.
Save: Failed (8)


Dido HP: 19 - 5 = 14 +10 temp HP
H1 HP: 60 - 8 = 52 and marked by Dido

Callie continues bleeding out, but moves into the cave and prepares for the worst. With that, she takes a moment to heal up a little.


Ongoing: Callie takes 5 dmg
Move: Farther into cave
Standard: Second Wind
 Healed for: 9(surge)+5 = 14
 Callie gains +1 to all defenses.
Save: Failed (8)


The enemy is too far to be able to move and attack, so this is the best she can do.

  Terdisas moves up behind Mittens, and stops to take a breather now that he is both no longer bleeding from his head (again), and because he can't get a reasonable shot just yet anyways.

  "Chirp, sometimes I think you have a beard just so you drip less blood onto your shirt."
Move: Duh.
Standard:  Second wind,  +10 HP, +1 Defenses (= +2 to defenses since Callie, +4 if you count Mitten's the living shield ;D).

Terdisas HP: 20+10= 30/42  NOT Bloodied  S 5, V 10, AP 0.

With the warder dead and the teiflings now attempting to flee into the cave, Aldrych switches tactics. Dropping his swords he draws his bow and moves in for his first shot. The lack of light, a large boulder and a change elevation causes his first shot to narrowly miss his target. Then he hears a noise from his right and attempts to fire again. But someone had replaced his normal arrow with a glowing green rock. A strange feeling starts to creep up his arm and he immediately drops the rock.


Move: 6 sq.
Cut & Run: vs H2 (20, miss), shift 3, vs H1 (nat 1, Miss)

Dido can feel his strength quickly leaving him, so he does the distinguished elven thing and snorts before leaving in a huff. "I agreed to let you have a chance to share the pain, Aldrych. Have fun." with that he bandages himself a bit, but to no avail. He's still bleeding out.

Still gushing blood, Callie steps forward and throws holy radiance across her allies. She knows she won't be burning the tieflings with this power, so she may as well use it to buff her allies. "Maybe we could go back to exiting and forcing them to exit the cave?" She suggests softly, but just loud enough for her allies to hear. "They can't hit what they can't see, after all."

She finally manages to bandage herself to stop bleeding. When this is all over, though, she has a rather thorough punishment in mind to either the tieflings, or whoever is responsible for this attack. Or both.

....actually, the punishment she has in mind for them will still be executed, whether these tieflings "didn't have a choice" or not.


Ongoing
Move: Scoot to be in range to have all but Dido in blast.
Standard: Divine Glow.
 Effect: Allies in the blast gain +2 power bonus to attack rolls until the end of your next turn.

  Unfortunately the dice favor DoT spam more than single serving piles of damage, as Terdisas's shot barely misses the wounded Teifling despite Callie's aid.  "So, why is it that no matter what anyone seems to do or be, only our enemies seem able to cause lasting harm on a casual whim?"

  Enemy basic attacks.  It's why an expansion Warlock encounter power was erratad out of existence for being too broken to be allowed (and then given to Wizards as an At-Will power).
Move: Duh.
Standard: Dragon Frost vs H2,  Miss (16 Fort).

Damn embankments. Aldrych clambers to the top and then quickly fires thrice. But only his first shot strikes home, as a flailing Teifling is always hard to hit a second or third time.

Dido steps forward, throws his hammer and plants himself in front of Mittens and Aldrych. His hammer goes a little wide and the tiefling sees it coming. Then it returns to Dido's hand.


Ongoing: 5 damage.
Move: To be between Mittens and Tiefling.
Standard: heavy thrown attack: (20) - 2 range increment - 2 cover = fail

Callie notices how close Mittens is to dropping and blows her a kiss. Mittens' wounds heal quite a bit. "That's it, Mittens. Drop that guy and get down here so I can help you bandage that gash!"

As if to demonstrate, she bandages Dido, who no longer bleeds out.

Meanwhile, her shoulder cannon fires two missiles at one of the tieflings and takes it out!  She then carefully climbs back down to be next to Callie.

  Terdisas walks out to behind the closest big rock, and fires a chunk of ice that goes wide at the remaining Tiefling.  Not like having walked out into the middle of the open would have made his shot any better.
Move: to behind rock partial cover (I'd assume).
Standard: Dragon Frost, total miss (rolled a 5).

In playing projectile chicken, Aldrych was at a disadvantage just now.  So the ranger hops back down behind cover, and takes a moment to quickly treat his lingering wounds.  He was still confident in the fact their remaining prey was quickly backing itself into a corner.

"Beep Boop self preservation is completly in character."
Minor: Quarry H1.
Move: Back down.
Standard: Second wind.
Save Throw: 10, made it.
