June says, "Yes. Thanks." and gashes the slinger. Her legs give off a purple outline as she calmly steps out of the glue.

Re: 01 Destined of Arvandor: Odd Kinship

Lerkeeb could totally teleport again too, but he decides to walk instead because it would be a waste of effort.  Casually blasting aside the kobold June has just slashed on his way.  While drow knife McThroatslit is visually brutal, Lerkeeb is self aware just how that compares to 'light kobolds on fire'.

But at least his method does not get as much blood all over the place.  "I wonder if they are smart enough to stop bothering us at this point?"
Standard: Eldritch Blast vs Slinger 1, hits.  Kills exactly.
Minor: Curse Slinger 2.

Re: 01 Destined of Arvandor: Odd Kinship

Faerema goes to backflip-uppercut-kick the kobold in the jaw, which sends it flying into the air, only for its own shadow to double-fist it down to the ground, where Faerema slams her entire body weight into her axe-kick into the guy's ribs, a resounding CRACK being heard. The drow currently in the splits, having landed that way, slides up to a standing position. "...I didn't want to give him the chance." she answers Lerkeeb.

Archer had another glowie arrow nocked, but dismisses it and relaxes some.

"Nicely done, everyone."

"It does not look like they had a chance, and nothing of value was lost."  Oh, so this is what the Prince Of Hearts meant about 'violently attractive'.  "How exactly were you captured again?"

At Archers comment, he looks over and says "Thank you, Archer."  Before turning his attention to June.  You know, the only one of them to get hurt in this scuffle.

Well, the only one to get hurt who matters.

Re: 01 Destined of Arvandor: Odd Kinship

Faerema answers Lerkeeb, "I didn't have powerful friends... forgive my presumptuousness. May I call you all my friends?"

June says in a sweet tone, "You may call me friend, Faerema." she looks around. Seeing nobody else hurt, she closes her eyes, takes a deep breathe, then glows purple as her wounds close and vanish without a trace. She opens her eyes again. She smiles at the others and with the same candy-like tone she used on Faerema, June says, "Any of you who wish it, may call me their friend."

He gets to searching the bodies for valuables.  Clues count as valuable.

Re: 01 Destined of Arvandor: Odd Kinship

Each of the kobold slingers has a key on a necklace around their necks. Only one of the skirmishers has a key ring, however. The ring has 3 keys on it.

Faerema didn't hear an objection from Archer, so she assumes for now, he meant she can be his friend.

June starts looking around the chamber, holding a torch up.

The above is in addition to the normal gear they have, which is listed here:
Slinger: leather armor, 1 dagger, a sling with 18 bullets and 1
round of special shot
Skirmisher: hide armor, spear

Archer looks at the keys curiously, shrugs, and distributes them among his new allies.

"Let's see what these other 'gifts' are," he suggests, aiding the search.

A pair of oversized pants that only provides levitation if everyone is wearing it at once?... No, that would be silly.

Lerkeeb ignores the spear, he already has a longsword in his inventory... even if he only has 8 Strength and no melee weapon powers.  "At the very least, such a search would not involve remaining by our cell."

After searching the area, there are found to be four passages. Of those four, two of them have gates not far from the entrances to the passageways.

While Lerkeeb is admittedly more concerned with getting out of here, he has no way of telling of the big doors north lead out any faster than the southern ones, nevermind the side tunnels.

"As good a direction as any, unless better ideas are forthcoming."

Re: 01 Destined of Arvandor: Odd Kinship

The south doors lead to a prison cell. There are skeletons and a recently-slain kobold corpse in the cell. There is a small, four-foot tall hole in the wall of the cave at the side of the cell opposite the gate.

June says, "...cheery."

Lerkeeb is perfectly happy to let Archer stick his face in the hole instead of himself... However on that note, "A dead prisoner in a cell that has a hole large enough for it to fit through?  I would not be surprised if something is waiting in there to bite you, Archer."

Re: 01 Destined of Arvandor: Odd Kinship

Rather suddenly, bony claws with only muscle tissue attached break out of the walls and attack! June deftly evades one while Fae evades the other! Lerkeeb manages to see the... eyeball? rolling towards him. And Archer sees nothing but a set of sharp teeth in the hole that chomp at him.

A very unearthly multi-voiced shriek that sounds like a tortured pig comes from all of the odd attackers!

Faerema throws a roundhouse to the claw that attacked her and it slowly looks back at her, growling a gutteral growl. The eyeball next to Lerkeeb seems to glance at Faerema. Faerema looks a little scared.

Re: 01 Destined of Arvandor: Odd Kinship

What, fighting giant freakish limbs and scattered organs coming from the very walls wasn't normal in the underdark?  Oh wait, right. It's Spiders and mushrooms, not eyeballs and arms.  "Let it not be said I can not be happy if I am wrong."

Lerkeeb curses they eyeball (In the polite, arcane sense.  Not the vulgar expletive sense), and teleports further into the room as opposed to completely outside of it like his common sense was screaming at him to.  He points a finger at the eyeball, and a ghostly hand appears... To poke it's finger into the eyeball.

Look, sometimes magic knows simple is best.  Even if the damage dice suggest otherwise.
Minor: Curse eyeball.
Move: Fey teleport.
Standard: Eyebite vs eyeball.  hits.  Total 9 attack and curse damage.
Effect: Lerkeeb is INVISIBLE to the Eyeball, until Start of my next turn.

Re: 01 Destined of Arvandor: Odd Kinship

Upon the eye being hit with eyebite, another tortured pig scream from all the attackers! The eyeball rolls towards Faerema and seems to open up to show teeth! It bites at her and misses.

June's eyes briefly glow purple before she slashes at the eyeball with her sword while singing "Victory to the chosen!", causing Faerema to glow purple briefly.

But even as June is distracted defending Faerema, the right claw reaches out and scrapes at June, making her yell in pain!

"Right arm, pushed five feet forward," Archer announces.

He pulls back on his bow, two strings and four arrows appearing.  He releases one which hits the right arm, pushing it to be five feet forward then immediately releases the other three which hit and disable the enemy!

Re: 01 Destined of Arvandor: Odd Kinship

Archer's attack makes all the attackers shriek loudly!

The teeth come out of the hole... and what Archer and the others see is horrific. What looks like a dire rat's head has had its eyes removed so there are just empty eye sockets. The head is slithering on the ground with its bloody spinal column dragging behind it. It gives a half-hearted, pitiful nip at Archer's feet.

Faerema throws another kick at the arm with a resounding thud! The arms, the eye, and the rat head all shriek and start spurting blood everywhere!

Re: 01 Destined of Arvandor: Odd Kinship

Everyone seems to be making short work of things, so Lerkeeb decides to soften up and weaken the least damaged looking (At least by comparison?) Arm on the right side of the room.   Setting it ablaze and really throwing it's aim off.   You'd figure a monster arm ON FIRE would be more dangerous instead of less, but hey, magic.

He follows up with an Eldritch blast towards the eyeball (who can see him again), but botches terribly.  Well, not so terribly that he hits an ally.
Minor: Curse right arm.
Standard: Fairy Fire vs right arm.  18 total fire/cures DMG.
ACTION POINT: miss eyeball (rolled a 10 vs reflex).
Lore Check:  18 Arcana (or 16 Religion).
Effect: Right arm has -6 To-hit, Until end of my next turn.

Curses: Eyeball.  Right arm.

Archer fires another pair of arrows and one hits the left arm.

"These parts...  were all once one creature!" he surmises, "They all share the pain!"
