It's an era of peace for the most part. Some places have their scuffles, but Mobotropolis and Sky City have not seen a war in over 100 years. Today, we focus on an Overlander city called "Detroit". The people there are mostly overlanders. Seeing a mobian there is as rare as 1 in 1,000. Angel is one of those, as the rabbit is actually here from "Longmeadow" city, nicknamed "Bunny City" by most everyone else, though more often by Overlanders. She is walking to the main office.

In this setting, Detroit is past all its woes and looks more like what we see in Transformers Animated. Angel is here to see Gale Smith about a business proposition, but she is told to wait in the lobby. Angel has a seat and kicks her legs a little, skewing her mouth to the side as she looks around at the oversized seat. Overlander places have a way of making her feel small. But thankfully, in a good way.

Most Overlanders who happen by give Angel a glance. Many double-take because the bunny is wearing a business suit and it makes them want to squee. Thankfully, most contain themselves and move on. But some take pictures of her. Angel wonders how many photos of her will be taken before she is called to see Gale.

Today Lucky is a bunny.  Black bunny, sure, but still a bunny.  So there.  He's the maintenance guy in this building and his small size can be handy for squeezing into those otherwise-has-to-be-dismantled-for-repair places.  It's almost break time, but the lobby level office workers have been complaining about the temperature.  Time to open locked panel and check.  Which requires a ladder.  Because it's about shoulder level to a human.

Gale is upstairs busy with whatever.

  Joe Darkthorne is assistant type person for Gale.  She hasn't assaulted him with a stapler yet so it's been progressing better than his last assistant gig.  "Gale-" No first name basis disrespect, we just cant remember what Gale's last name might be <.<  >.>  "Angel Bard has arrived.  Would you like to send her up, or wait until the lobby clock drives them slightly crazy first?"

  Hey, sometimes that's the best thing to do.  But mostly if it's funny.

Angel raises an eyebrow as another bunny, black furred no less, catches her eye. It's like a black human seeing another black human in an alien city in a scifi setting. She decides to hop off her seat and go check out what he's up to. "I can hold the ladder for ya." she offers.

"Sure," Gale Sargas-Smith answers, typing away at her laptop.  Last name not needed for RP purposes, though.

Lucky gawks at Angel.  He seems much more surprised at her being here than the humans.

"I... uh... sure!  Sure!  Thanks, miss...?  Oh.  Myname'sLucky.  Nice to meet ya!"

He offers a very dirty hand, looks at his hand, blushes, and wipes it on an equally dirty rag.

  Joe nods, as his player facepalms over the last name was actually written thing.  "Of course, I will go see them in personally."  That said, he heads out to go to the lobby.

  Depending on if Joe is Stalker quality Butler or more average 'don't mind the sharp letter opener' Butler, that could take a bit to get there from Gale's office.

  Oh no, now Angel will have time to introduce herself to Lucky!

Angel is taking her white gloves off and pulls out a handkerchief. She places her now-protected hand on the ladder and places a foot on the bottom rung. "I'm Angel." she says with a small smile. "I'll wait right here until you're done." she says, as if urging the guy to hurry up. As he climbs, she asks, "How'd you come to live here? Or is this a temporary thing?"

"Very good, Mr. Darkthorne," Gale replies, "Take your time.  No hurry."

"I was promised a family," Lucky says in a kinda far-away tone, "Turns out I was being recruited to..."

He skews his lips.

"Do stuff I didn't wunna do.  So I turned the offer down.  That didn't go over well.  So I had to flee.  This was the closest, safest place I could find.  Thanks again, Angel.  You've a generous spirit.  How 'bout yourself?"

Panel open and thermostat checked.  It's set correctly.  How surprising.

  Joe has skipped the elevator and taken the stairwell.  Why would he do this more effort involved and possibly slower thing?  Well...

 "Wheeeeeeee" hop. "Wheeeeee" etc.  Joe is chain sliding / hopping stairwell railings with nobody looking.  Whoop, camera coming up.  Back to just walking down the stairs...  okay we're good "wheeeee!"

Angel says, "Oh just here for business with the head of this firm." she answers, still holding the ladder until Lucky comes back down. "You feel lonely out here among the 'landers? Or do you have some good friends yet?"

Angel would not fault someone for sliding down handrails for fun.

Gale would encourage it.  Keeps her seemingly mundane assistant more capable of holding off violent types while she slips away to safety.  Not that that's happened yet....

"Wow," Lucky answers, stepping off the ladder, "The big boss?  Well I'd mention that she can be just as intimidating as she can be charming, but I suppose she'll be all charm for a prestigious visitor such as yourself.  You're real classy, Miss Angel.  If I were anywhere near up to your standards, I'd offer to take you out to dinner.  But I'm just a lowly janitor.  Lonely, yes.  But I've met a few good friends in low places, heh.  Kids are especially good about overlooking race."

  Look out! He's got a retractable pen!  Yes.

  Joe leaves the stairwell in a calm fashion and without any unsightly wrinkles or such.  The past 100 years have made wonderful strides in pants technology.  He sees Angel, as well as the more frequently known bunny Lucky.

  Heading over, he waits until after Lucky has said his piece and says "Hello Miss Bard, Gale is ready to see you now."   He turns to Lucky and comments "Do they have you checking the 'you set it correctly already the last five times' temperature again Lucky?"

Angel chuckles as Lucky mentions taking her out to dinner. "I'm sure you clean up nicely, Lucky." she reassures him.

Angel says, "Nobody will be fully satisfied. What is too cold for one will be too hot for another." as she looks up at the human. "Thank you." she begins putting her white gloves back on. "Please lead the way."

Angel glances at Lucky. "Come with?"

"Something like that, yeah," Lucky answers Joe.

He blink-blink stares at Angel.

"Thanks!  You're too kind.  Love your company and all, but... why ask a handyman along to your important meeting?  Don'cha think I'd just be in the way?"

He scoops up his ladder regardless.

  Joe says, as he starts to lead the way to the elevator  "You work here Lucky, so at least it's not like she wants to bring along some random stranger.  Besides, I'm sure you'd only ask Gale stupid questions on your own time, you're polite that way." the last bit said with a joking smile.

  "Though if we don't pass where you stash the ladder on the way, you probably should leave it outside her office."

Angel pffs. "A handyman is handy to have along." she says jokingly in response to Lucky. "I just felt it rude to leave you there in the middle of conversation is all. Besides... if you are interested in going to Longmeadow for a job and a life there, it would be polite to ask Gale first or give a two-week's notice or such. But I can't figure out on my own if that's what you want. Just thought a rabbit like you out here on your own, well... might prefer to be in an environment more suited to smaller folk like us."

She glances up at Joe. "I take it you're one of the friends Lucky mentioned he's made since living here. Didn't catch your name."

"Gee... thanks," Lucky answers Joe.

He gasps and bounces at Angel's implied offer.

"Wow!  You'd take me back to Longmeadow?!  Wowie wow wow!  Thank you, Angel!  You're a saint!"

He glances at Joe and continues.

"If anything needs fixed, either I hear about it or he hears about it and forwards it to me.  So we see each other quite a bit."

He hippedy-hops to follow along with the other two.

  Joe says "I am Joe, it is nice to meet you, and was already nice meeting Lucky.  I'd be sorry to see Lucky go, but it's a bit hard to fault a guy for wanting a chance at something you don't need a stepladder for."

  No waiting for the elevator to get there, score!  Though, now they are in for the 'not as fast as CoX' elevator trip. Whooooo elevator.  Joe once more resists the urge to press all the buttons.

  If you can fake being mature, it's just as good as actually being mature.

Angel would likely have gotten off the elevator on the first stop and used the stairs in that case. Maybe.

Angel leans against the back of the elevator and says, "Pleasure, Joe. I'd invite you too, but somehow, I think cramped spaces might even be worse for you than overly tall spaces are for Lucky."

Angel then looks at Lucky and says, "Nice to see I brightened your day, Lucky. But seriously, what's stopped you so far? Lack of transportation? Fear of no job?"

"That pretty much sums it up," Lucky answers Angel, "Transportation is a biggie.  They don't make cars in my size around here.  Not that I could afford one if they did.  And then it's a long trip to make alone.  Kinda dangerous too considering the types that I ditched getting here."

Immature or no, Lucky hops up to the panel and turns his maintenance guy key to make sure this a one-stop trip.  Sorry, people waiting for the elevator.  Important and beautiful visitors to the big boss take priority.  At least in Lucky's mind they do.

  Joe nods, "At least Lucky can get into the building.  Though I doubt the setup in Longmeadow is so short that I could stomp it to rubble like a Godzilla movie."   Look out! It is Joe! And our lips are poorly synched with our voices!... but then that is because we are cartoon characters and not live action anyways.

  "Aaaaw, I knew you had abuse of authority in you Lucky, I'm so proud." Said in that 'my son got all A+'s on their report card' kind of voice.

Angel is amused. In so many ways. Once the elevator arrives, she continues with the following Joe. "You would likely not fit in some of the doorways, Joe." she reminds. "But don't let that stop you from visiting. I know a place you'd be able to squeeze in." She wags her bunny tail a little from the good mood she is in.

If Angel's happy enough for a bunny-tail wag, Lucky's must be spinning in enough of a frenzy for him to take flight!  What?  It works for the two-tailed foxes.  Oh right.  Bunnies are supposed to flap their ears to fly in the Mobius setting.

"Abuse of...?" Lucky asks, "Oh...  That.  Pff.  If that's abuse of authority, then how does Gale rank?  Necromancer?"

Everything Gale does is legal.  Maybe.  A good lawyer would prove it's all legal.  Probably.  If not, that's what bribes are for.

"What place did you have in mind, Angel?  The zoo?"

This with a teasing smirk to Joe.

  "We already told you and the reporters Lucky, officially there are no zombies on the premises.""  Joe considers the Zoo comment, ""Well, I think the customers could be disappointed if I was an exhibit.  Or did you mean something closer to alligator wrestling?" "

  Ohhh, and it's Vector with the folding chair!  How's Joe going to deal with this!?

Vector with a folding chair? Vector would really look cool in pro wrestling, come to think of it.

Angel chuckles as the boys tease. "Actually, my place is designed to let people of all sizes in. And the hotel is designed that way so travelers can stay, despite size."

"The graveyard shift would beg to differ," Lucky says, shambling forward to imitate a zombie before returning to his more casual hop, "But I think you'd make for a great exhibit.  Especially if wrestling were involved."

He looks over at Angel.

"I kinda like a place with high ceilings anyway.  More room to hop!"

He bounds his own height effortlessly.

  "Well, a Zoo is already set up for a cage match I guess."   oh look, they finally made it to the door of Gale's office.  "Not banging your head seems to be universally appreciated."

Angel maintains her professional demeanor. That means not hopping for now. Once inside the office, she heads for Gale to offer a hand. "Greetings, Ms.Smith. Angel Bard, here for the mutual funds plan."

She offers a data drive after the handshake.

Lucky snickers at the cage match pun.

Gale smiles and returns the handshake.

"Welcome, Ms. Bard," she answers, plugging the drive into her laptop, "A pleasure to make your acquaintance.  So while I wait for the spreadsheet to load up...  You have such lovely hair!  How do you get it to look so... well... angelic?"

  Joe quiets down now that Angel and Boss Lady are talking business.... Wait, no, they're talking stylish...  Yeah, he still has nothing to add there yet.  Particularly as he follows standard Male Grooming technique of 'uh, I used shampoo. It was on sale'.

Angel ohs and reaches up to delicately touch her own hair before smiling and saying, "I actually have a special all-in-one conditioner that washes, medicates, and leaves no scent. I believe in smelling natural. Though speaking of natural, the waviness is. I don't have to use curlers. Thank you for your kind words. What about your skin? I've seen my share of humans and your skin is like a baby."

Girl talk. Giving Gale and Angel something in common that makes race seem like a non-entity while simultaneously making the "we're guys" part of Lucky and Joe give THEM something in common.

Angel has a seat across from Gale. "Heh.. such large chairs." she comments quietly.

Lucky looks over at Joe and shrugs, also having nothing to add to the conversation.

"Naturally," Gale answers with a smile, "It shows.  You're welcome, and thank you.  Skin lotion, nothing really fancy.  I like perfumes, but only in small amounts.  Oh dear.  It seems the data format isn't agreeing with this software.  Mr. Darkthorne?"

She turns the laptop to face him and scoots it in his direction.  Sure she's clever enough to figure out how to get it to work eventually, but she's got more interesting things to focus on at the moment.

"So how are you liking it here so far, Ms. Bard?"

  True, why futz with a finicky spreadsheet program when you have someone to do it for you?  Even if you didn't have someone here to talk business and fashion with.  "Of course.  I'll even fix it properly instead of just loading it up in the first freeware program that handles this format."  Wow, how fancy.

  That said, he gets futzin...  Why is the eye of Sauron part of this spreadsheet? Nah, we're just joking.  Unless we're not.

Angel neither confirms nor denies the existence or involvement of Sauron. "So far, about what I expected. People giving me "eek, a cute bunny I wanna take it home" looks for the most part, awkward looks at worst. Everyone friendly. Especially Lucky, but then he's probably happy to see one if his own for a change. That said, I was offering that he could come with me back to Longmeadow and get a job there, but I wanted to check with you first."

"Very good, Mr. Darkthorne."

Lucky gives Gale a "oh please please please can I go?" look, but stays quiet.

"Oh my goodness, of course!" Gale answers, "Poor dear looks so home sick.  He'll be hard to replace, but I can't let that get that in the way.  It's kind of you to offer, Angel."

You could probably find "eye of Sauron" in there somewhere if you jumbled the words around and such.

Lucky can't contain himself and hops clear to the ceiling!

"Yippeee!"

Midair backflips can save you a bump on the head.  He may be a bunny, but he still lands on his feet.  ;)

  Joe manages to get the information to it's intended viewing state.  "I think, just possibly, Lucky is glad to hear it.  Info's ready for you to look over now."  Gale gets her computer back, yay!

Angel nods. Gale can see the agreement. It really IS a mutual benefit. Gale would see the rabbits will benefit from this just as much as her, but since Gale is benefiting, what's it matter? "Do you need time, or should I just take him with tomorrow?"

"Good work, Mr. Darkthorne," Gale answers as she reads the agreement numbers, "Very nice, Ms. Bard.  Very nice indeed.  You have a deal.  As for taking Mr. Lucky with you...  I'm sure we can outsource our maintenance issues till we find someone to fill his shoes.  No need to delay."

"Thank you so much, you two!" Lucky says, "You're the best!"

  Joe melodramaticalyl sighs, and digs into his pockets to pull out a Five, "Well, looks like I finally need to give back the five bucks I owe you Lucky.  Here yah go."  Oh, how will you ever stand the loss Joe?

Angel chuckles. Then looks at Gale. "Thank you. Unless there is something else, I don't desire wasting the time of a busy lady like yourself when you have a business to run."

"Woohoo!" Lucky cheers, taking the five bucks and giving the bill a smooch, "I know just what to get with this!  I saw a 'Machine Girl' DVD on sale the other day and wanted to get it for you.  So it'll be my going away gift to you!"

"Oh but you're such pleasant company," Gale says, "I could at least walk with you to the door and chat."

She chuckles at Lucky's enthusiasm.

  Joe can't decide if it's Joe paying for the gift himself or not, because while on the one hand that was till recently his five dollars, it was also Lucky' five dollars cause they owed it to them.  Logic can be hard.  "Thank you Lucky. As for Busy, there is no other pressing business for Gale at this moment."  Or at least, nothing they couldn't put off anyway.

Angel walks with Gale. "Well thank you, Ms. Smith." her tail wags again. "I'd be honored if you did. I mean, not just anybody gets personally escorted by you." she gives a coy smile.

"You're welcome, Joe!" Lucky answers Joe with a smile and a corkscrew hop out the door.

Gale chuckles at Angel's exaggeration.

"It's my pleasure," she says, exiting with the others.

  Joe wonders if Lucky will be quite so hopping happy when he discovers Angel is putting them to work in the sugar free candy mines? Aaaahahahahahahaaa!.. Oh, wait, no.  This isn't 'Candyland 3: The Revenge'.

  He follows along, because hey, why not?

Angel walks along, halfway wanting to hop around like Lucky is, but refraining for the time being. She looks over and up at Gale. "Just a note of curiosity... DO you consider my people cute? I mean, it seems common among your kind to do such."

"Well of course," Gale answers with a smile, "At least I do.  I mean just look at Lucky.  You can't tell me that's not cute."

  "Gleefully hopping along tends to make things more adorable as opposed to less."  Look out! It's a bear attack!... Aaaaaw, the bear is hopping along adorablAAAAAIGH.  whoops, looks like it was only a clever ploy of the deadly 'hopping brown bear'.  Tune in next week, as we follow the hunting habits of the elegant Laser Panther.

Angel mutters, "It is... I wish I could get away with being like that, but alas... professionalism. I'll have to wait 'till I get home before I can unwind like that."

Lucky chuckles.

"Privilage of the working class!" he boasts, "Can hop about in public!  Hop hoppedy, hop hoppedy, hop hop, hoproo!"

Gale giggles some more.  "I'd love to see you hopping about too, Angel.  That'd be adorable."

"Well I'm feeling bold enough to try and hurdle some social barriers."

He offers his hands to Angel.

"Hop with me, Angel!"

  "I promise not to record the events with a camera phone and upload them to the internet.  Unless you wanted me to of course."  Odds are it would totally get more hits than 'Moron walks face first into Mall fountain while Texting'.

Angel blushes and takes the hand. "But... not too much. I don't want to get my suit messed up..." She can't help but think Joe's comment kind of funny. Even if such a thing was uploaded, worst that happens is... "I certainly don't want you uploading such a thing, Joe."

Lucky takes hold of Angels hands with a big smile and sings to her as he encourages her to hop along.

"Now as for the dancin’, you can do more,
You can reach great heights, in fact you can soar.
You just get a leg up and ya slap it on down,
And you’ll find you’re up in what’s called a bound.
Bound, bound, and rebound.

Gale just giggles and watches in amusement.  "So cute!"

  "Well then you don't have to worry about it from me.  Remember to look both ways crossing the street Lucky.  Not sure you can quite clear a car."

  Tragedy today, as the Easter Bunny was the victim of a Hit and Run accident.  News at 11.

Angel has a cute, open-mouth smile on her as she bounds with Lucky, occasionally letting out a girly giggle and blowing a kiss to Gale mid-bound, then doing a flip mid-air, she blows a kiss to Joe before landing right side up again.

Angel follows Lucky, but the MOMENT things start looking like they will be in public eye again, she lets go of his hand, straightens herself out and acts like she hadn't been horsing around just moments before.

Lucky nods and thumbs-ups to Joe in reply to the caution.  When Angel stops, he burst out laughing at Angel's sudden transformation.

Gale giggles, covering her mouth.  "Impressive," she compliments, "Both the hopping and the stopping."

   "Sometimes the one thing more important than dignity, is the ability to pretend very convincingly.  I need work in one of those two areas, but its hard to tell which area some days."

Angel says, "Well thank you for your hospitality, Gale. I'll be heading off with Lucky now. May your business do well."

(Player is unsure how to drag Joe along for RP, so may need to do a different thread for Angel after this)
