May nods and flops on the ground at the doorway. "Works for me!"

Raichel goes to press her back side against Mittens' front side at one side of the door, careful to step over May. She grabs Mitts' arms to wrap them around herself.

Timothius is also careful to step around May and smushes up between Raichel's front side and Kyle's front side. "Better to rest this way than fight unprepared, yes." Tim comments.

Raichel smiles over Tim's shoulder towards Kyle and says, "Thanks for the pick-me-up comment, Kyle. I'm feeling pretty good right now."

She then rubs noses with Timothius, causing her twin to smile.

Kyle shoehorns himself into the area along with the others.  Hey, it's still less silly than hiding inside the floor for your short rest.

Mits laughs at Kyle's comment.

"Mittens smiles at being used as Raichel's belt.  Does that mean she gets to be a symbol of Raichel's martial arts prowess?  She should be so lucky.

"Now I just need to figure out how to kill a few minutes unable to move without getting bored.  I'll start by defending my definition of zombie..."

Should she be allowed, she'll try and make a case for, "Fleshy undead = zombie, even if pieced together from various sources.  'Flesh golem' is just a more specific kind of zombie."

Before long the wall trap resets.

Re: Scales of War: The Temple Between pt.2

Timothius says, "But zombies are undead. Golems are not. Flesh Golems are no more undead than a Stone Golem or if I attached strings to a corpse and made it do things like a marionette. Undead, sadly, use a piece of their old life force in order to move."

May says, "Wow... I didn't know all that. So how do you tell the difference?"

Timothius says, "Crazy as it sounds, Flesh Golems are pieced together from multiple creatures or people or both. They are also usually kept from rotting. Zombies, however, are never pieced together from various sources, are forced to live through death and rot even as the continue shambling on."

Raichel says, "...suddenly, I feel less grossed out about getting that monster's face on my knuckles."

"It is like Tim says, though for our practical purposes the main sticking point is that there is no vulnerability to holy lasers.  Still a construct, just one much more messy than the term is usually associated with.  I admit the 'clockwork crab made out of real crab' is a much more tidy example." That and properly disinfected bone golems.

He sighs "Of course, these things are a crazy subject all by themselves.  Like how you can get a ghost AND a zombie from the same dead person."

"I've read that the construction of a rock golem requires only arcana.  But the construction of a flesh or bone golem requires necromancy.  Necrotic energy is still used.  But that's only what I've read.  No substitute for actual experience.  Let's ask the badguys when we fight them.

"In any case, mission successful.  Rested and not bored.  Everyone ready to head through?"

She steps aside to make room for May to stand up.

May stands up and proceeds to pull the entire group into her arms. "You know I'm ready! But had to take advantage and give you all some love and team cheer before heading onward!"

Timothius is still smiling. He looks at Mittens and says, "Guess we'll have to pick up the conversation another time..."

Raichel says, "I'm ready when you all are."

The trio will step through with the others.

Re: Scales of War: The Temple Between pt.2

The top of the tower is guarded by eight warrior githyanki,
all bearing silver greatswords. Their leader wields a sliver
longsword, eyes flashing with mystic power. On the far
side of a tower, a sphere of translucent force protects three
figures: Sarshan and two shadar-kai bodyguards. However,
the scars that the arms dealer bore when you saw him
in Umbraforge pale in comparison to his current state.
The shadar-kai’s skin seethes and bubbles as tendrils of
blood chaos erupt from open sores on his face and hands.
Within the protective force sphere, he works intently over a
teleportation circle, attempting to activate its power.

"Ohai!  So I have a question about the flesh golem in the last room.  Was necrotic energy used to create it?"

None of the badguys show any sign of answering Mits' question.

A githyanki warrior stretches his hand out toward Kyle, trying to telekineticly bind him to the floor, but the spell isn't strong enough.  He then closes in.

Sarshan looks up from his work then continues, looking frustrated.

"You all struggle in vain against the inevitable."

"Heheh.  Will do..."

A gith thug charges Mits and slashes her, but her armor flashes and deflects the attack!

"Ha!"

She zaps down three thugs with bolts of energy then steps foward and explodes with energy, burning three more!  White flames continue to burn on the floor.

Re: Scales of War: The Temple Between pt.2

May looks angry and yells, "You will NOT ignore me!"
Her pupils narrow to slits as she stomps, forcing herself to recall how to use her powers through sheer willpower.

Then TELEPORTS into the midst of the enemies and roars like a dragon!

Her roar forces the enemies to answer the primal call and they all face her blade! Only one of the warriors and one of the shadar-kai barely manage to dodge her monstrous swing, but then she back-swings and hits the shadar-kai who dodged!

The thug was not lucky at all and got disemboweled.

Her now quite scary growl is accompanied by her entire body quaking as though under the effects of a blur spell. But rather than blurring, she merely seems more energetic.

May takes 5 dmg from ongoing

"Sarshan, incompetence such as yours is intolerable to let stand.  I would suggest ending your shame by hurling yourself into the blood chaos, but it appears you can't even get that right."

Kyle backsteps and points his crossbow,  "Klickwhoosh!"  The Gith dodges to the side then goes "wait, what?" as Kyle actually pulls the trigger, and shoots the now unobstructed Shadar-Kai.

He shrugs off the spell effects, on that note.

Raichel hops over to flank with May while also having as many enemies before her as she can. BAMBAMBAM! She swings her staff and hits all 3 in the backs of their heads for some blunt force trauma! Two of them get especially hurt.

Inspired by May, Raichel stomps in order to mentally shake off the effect that was harming her. "Epic as always, sis. Unusually epic, May. Nice shot, Kyle." she says as though giving battlefield assessments like some sports judge.

Sarshan leaves the forcefield, teleports next to Mits, double-acid-blade slices her bloody, teleports next to Kyle and slices him, then blasts the sibs with a huge burst of blood chaos!

Mits manages to keep from saying "Ow" out of spite, but she's in tears for the pain.

Timothius winces from the pain also, but throws a seal onto one of the shadar-kais, hoping this isn't his last act. Then the gods, or fate, or both allows him a second chance as he shakes off the thing Sarshan put on him. "Life is suffering." Timothius retorts with a sad smile. "Look at you throwing a tantrum like a child... Your sad attempts to make me suffer do not compare to the suffering I have chosen to give myself on purpose."

He flicks off the acid.

Tim takes 10 acid damage

Mits is surprised she didn't get healed by her bro.  Must be thanks to that annoying psychic.  Ah well.  Enemies all clumped together.

"Thank you, May...

"Rising Suuuun!"

Angelic wings of light sprout from her back as she begins to hover off the ground, her wounds and her allies wounds healing.  Below her feet and those of the enemy, an enormous bulge of light that looks like the surface of the sun appears, defeating two enemies and scorching the rest!  To Mits' allies, it feels like a warm sunbeam.

Re: Scales of War: The Temple Between pt.2

Kyle is no stranger to acid burns, though he vastly prefers inflicting them over receiving them.  This time around he shows his disdain for Sarshan by ignoring him entirely, in favor of setting his disapproving eye and weapon upon others.

"Morningstaaaaar!" Morningstar the bastard sword says as they impale the warrior behind May "But it's a sword? BLARGH!"

standard: EYEBALL.  Enemies can't have concealment. Allies that hit with attacks (even no damage attacks) cause 5 Psychic DMG from eyeball.
Minor: dancing weapon.  Kills Warrior 2.
Action Point: Minor: resistive for Mittens.  +1 AC, she can cash that in for Her Surge value+8 THP.  When she does this, another ally within 5 of her gets that amount of THP.
Save throw: LOL 1.

Warrior 2: Morningstared.
