D&D: Angelic Preservation

The town of Jutesville is a standard, successful town on the outskirts of a city. Lately, there have been reports of a political turmoil, but so far no major moves have been made. Jutesville has gone largely untouched by outside problems, but just yesterday, there was a report of goblin activity along the south road.

In the Jutesville Tavern (Called the Merry Mug), Timothius sits at a table idly stirring his food with a fork while apparently daydreaming. Ever since the guy entered town, he has been getting odd looks from people. Rumor spread quickly about the half-angel half-catfolk cleric in town. So far, though, nobody has worked up the courage to walk up to him.

Political turmoil, plus goblins... Is it COMMUNIST Goblins? Wait, no, that would he Hobgoblins because they are the Red ones.

Either way, Joe wanders up to the kitty cat's table. "Has anyone so much as bothered to say hi to you yet?  Or is this a first?"

He's not ignoring *insert character here*, there is just a narrative fog of war responsible for why he hasn't introduced themselves yet to *insert character here*

Mits is her typically un-subtle self walking into the tavern.  "All I'm saying is that a healer, while very nice to have in a team, isn't entirely necessary if you have the right magic items and group synergy."

"And do we have those things?" Lucky, the dark kitty (with wings this time, so there!) retorts, "Nope.  Let's not get ourselves killed in our first 'adventure' please."

Timothius snaps out of his reverie and looks at Joe. "Hmm? Oh! Uh... a child or two, the local church... that's about it." His ears perk up and a smile forms on his face soon after that statement as it sinks in this guy is being friendly and sociable. "Thank you, sir. My name's Timothius. And you are?"

He is then distracted by the entry of 2 more cat people... one of whom has wings like Timothius does. He waves to the two as they enter. "Hail! Healer over here. Come have a seat?"

Yeah Joe, remember when 'friendly' was something you were known for as much as sarcasm?

"I'm Joe, just here in the middle of some destinationless travels."  He looks over to the latest arrivals, and wonders is cats attract by way of static electricity because of all the fur?  "Dying isn't very practical, as far as I've heard."

Mits has a confident grin on and approaches, saying, "This wouldn't be my first adventure by a long shot.  Hello, there, healer!  Interested in joining me and my ally over here in a quest to help defend this town's people of the goblin threat?"

Lucky smiled to see the nice looking kitty and is wondering to himself if he might be related.  He addresses Timothius and Joe both.  "My name is Lucky.  This is Mittens.  Nice to meet you!"

Both pull up seats.

Timothius says, "I'm Timothius. This is Joe. I... was wondering what to do about the threat. I'm hoping I can reason with them, but I didn't want to go trying that alone. They might try to kill me, after all. Don't suppose you had a plan for your approach to the goblins?"

He glances at Joe. "And I don't suppose you are the type to go talking to goblins too, are you?"

Joe shrugs,  "I admit I'd prefer for someone ELSE to talk to them, so if they are dead set on violence I'm at a safer distance to shoot them than 'right next to them'"  Ranged DPS is HARD!

Mits shrugs.  "Reason with the?  Worth a shot, I guess.  In my experience you'll get anything from them attacking out of the clear blue, to asking you in song to shoot them in the face."

Lucky sweatdrops.  "Glad to hear we're all willing to try diplomacy.  Does this mean you'll be joining up too, then Mr. Joe?"

Timothius continues nomming his food, letting Joe speak for himself. But he does eye the trio, from one face to the next. Should anyone meet his gaze, he always greets them with a smile.

"May as well.  If it really is an issue, the might show up here before I even leave.  And it's harder to shoot around townspeople running in circles." Well, not in this system.  But not like the NPCs know that.

"Then time is of the essence!" Mittens concludes, "Let's get started and we can iron out details on the way!"

Lucky returns Timothius' smile and wiggles his fingers in a wave.  He shrugs to Mits' comment and waits to see if the others look like they'll follows her lead.
