Character Creations

Hello.

Every new player can begin as a 5th lvl. (Or less then 5th if you so choose).

You can be any of the standard races/classes or you can go Psion etc (If this doesn't fit you just send me a message with the idea of what you may want) and I will let you know if it is possible to fit you in to this game.


I will need you to with making up your character, Utilizing the RPoL Dice Roller here as either Secret or not (up to you).

A) Make 6 Rolls Using 'Record Each Die',  4D6 'Drop Lowest 1', 'Reroll 1's' for the 6 Stats.  Though please title them such as:-

Stats 1/6,
Stats 2/6,
Stats 3/6...        and so on, these 6 rolls are not set in order of Stat,

(You can place the roll to whichever stat you have unallocated to.)

Stats are of course:- Str, Dex, Con, Int, Wis, Cha

B) Hit Points for 1st Lvl is Max the Charcter class Die, Racial HP's and 2nd + Level HP's have to be rolled.

C) Social Class Rolls via Dice Roller (Warning this is a set order 1st roll is always the 1st).

 1D100 each in order of:-
 1) Character Social Class
 2) Character Birth Position:-
 3) Character Younger Siblings:- If it is higher % then yours, you have younger Siblings.  Do let me know if your wanting to be and ONLY CHILD though please.

Please note that I will also ask for a bit of a Background/History on your character too please.

 Be creative with your Character, don't be afraid to ask questions or put forward your concepts and ideas alright.  :D So send me what you are thinking of and I will let you know if it is fine or needs some 'tweeking'.

Having to review spells and their components, as a lot of the Spells {and maybe Powers too} out there use components that indicate an object/item which IS listed in 'standard items' within the PHB, as having no cost when it actually does.  As such The Spell Component Pouch is/was being misused, This is why I was banning it.  However I still want the spells/powers listed like the above from now on.

General Rules of the land people should know and I am sorry I have not had this written up before but I did have my reasons not to do this.

This Nation it is a Human Society but they are in a 'Mutual' setting that Most Elves are considered Noble Born (or as the saying goes 40% higher to Social Class).  But the Humans still rule this section of the 'world'.

Languages: When in Character Creation {As normal. You start at 1st level knowing one or two languages (based on your race), plus an additional number of languages equal to

 However due to this game being set in the Feudal/Medieval times, not many knew three or more languages and even less knew how to actually Read/Write.


 As such Language is a skill, taken individually.  Everyone starts game with 4 Ranks in Speak 'Native Tongue' &  {For the ease of players who do not have high Int.}  All PC's/Adventurers get 1 Rank in 'Common Trade Speech'.
 It is up to you to determine how you learnt this 'Common Trade Speech'  This replaces 'Common' as a Language.
 (Following the standard skill rules of (3 + Level in Ranks Max, per Language skill)

 Meaning: The 'Speak Language' skill has been changed into 'Language, Speak: {__name__}' &/Or 'Language, Read/Write: {__name__}'.

 WIth Alana's final points 2 = (6 - 4) she has the option of putting them into any 'Language skill' she already has, following the standard skill rules of (3 + Level in Ranks Max, per Language skill.)
 such as 2 points in 'Speak Common Trade Tongue' for a Total of 3 Ranks in it. OR Alana could put 1 Rank into that language and another 1 Rank into either of her Read/Writes as neither of them have been Maxed out in Ranks yet.
 Or She can purchase another 'Language skill' with 2 ranks in it or another two 'Language skills' with 1 Rank in each of the two.

NOTE:  You do not need to speak a Language to be able to Read/Write it and vice versa.
            :  If you do not use up all of your 'starting Intelligence bonus in Languages' you do not get them later.  That bonus is used in Character Creation.  If it is not used it is Gone.  'Unless I am giving a good reason as to why not.'
            :  This is a skill like any other.  As such, you can spend 'normal' Skill points on this to advance/raise your Ranks in any of the Languages, once again Following the standard skill rules of (3 + Level in Ranks Max, per Language skill.)


Further Notes:  Barbarian's, Illiterate and obtaining other classes.

 ~!!~ = In full detail...

As I do not use the standard guidelines in regards to the Skill of Language* the basic guideline/rules in the PHB do not apply...
This means that the part in the PHB of "normally a Barbarian can expend 2 skill points to buy off their 'Illiteracy' with this giving them an automatic 'read/write' all languages they can speak." does not actually apply.

My new rule indicates that not everyone can read/write and that not everyone has the exact same skill in Speaking.  Eugo a Barbarian would have to learn Each and Every Read/Write Language they can speak not gain them all for the 2 skill points.  This is because each letter of an alphabet or word's shape is different for each language eg. An 'A' or even a 'Word' in English, Spanish, German, Russian, Japanese etc. DO NOT LOOK THE Same, so too does this apply to "Common Trade Tongue', Elven, Goblin, Undercommon etc.

So in effect they would have to Learn 'R&W' for each new language as if they were learning how to 'R&W' for the first time.  This means the following...

If you start with a Barbarian and are thus 'Illiterate' you have to expend 2 skill points for each Read/Write Language you want to use, no matter what.

Where as 'Improving your ability' with the Language Skill is as follows:  Those with a newly acquired class that has Language as a 'Class skill' expends 1 point for 1 Rank in each separate Language.

Those that do not, as usual utilize this as a CC and expend 2 skill points for 1 Rank.  Also, if you are attempting to learn a New language you MUST have a TRAINER to teach you how to use this Language.

No this does not mean that by having one class that does have Language and one that does not have it as a class skill you can use both classes skill points to learn the Language as a class skill.  Or any other skill that has the same point.

 As such if you start with a Barbarian that has just obtained the extra class of Rogue etc (A class that does not have Language* as a class skill, ie CC, X or Cross Class.) Would expend points like...

     Illiterate 'Buy off' for R&W Elven: ____________________ 1 Rank = ( 2 skill points)
     X Language* Read/Write Elven: __________________________ 1 Rank = ( 2 Skill Points)
     Illiterate 'Buy off' for R&W Common Trade Tongue: ______ 1 Rank = ( 2 skill points)

Language R&W Elven for 1 Rank = 4 Skill points. {2 points of this was to 'buy off' Illiteracy and a further 2 points to lean how to actually read/write it.}

Cooking:  I for one fine it annoying that one can not even boil water if one does not have 'Profession* Cook'  So to counter this..

I am giving you the option to spend one skill point on a Generic Skill called 'Cooking (General/Basic)'  This is kind of like how Languages was in 3.5.  Either you have it or you don't.

Clothing and other 'Goods' has to be maintained the cost for this is fifty percent of the purchase price over the full 12 months of 'maintenance' followed by the purchase of a new set once a year.  Please note that being in combat or attacked is not normal wear and tear aka a part of the Normal 'maintenance' of clothing.  Eg if you get into Melee where your clothing is cut to shreds or a Arcane Duel where you are hit by who knows what eg a Fireball that renders your clothing crispy, then the items can not be simply 'maintained'.

Food, Drink and Lodging also has to be remembered. {Refer to Pg 129 D&D PHB V.3.0}
