I encourage others to post here, but I will certainly use this alert others of my online presence. If I'm absent for a long time, it's probably because RL has limited my posting.

If I have RL updates, I put them here: link to another game.

If you're going to be gone for awhile, use the AWAY thread. This is generally for synching in the short term. It's to say "Hey I'm dedicating to posting on RPoL for more than fifteen minutes. So you can expect prompt replies" and "Getting off for the day/night. If you're waiting for my reply, it won't be today, so post accordingly"

I'm not here tonight, but I did want to say a few of the RTJs have stated (in other words) "More to come later". I'm neither unwelcoming of, nor ready to thoroughly comment upon, those upcoming posts. If you want to comment on the game's current variables, feel free to. I ask you keep it brief. Certainly, however, you're welcome to post more after I've seen a post. Your timezone will decide if I've been on "today" but a bump every 48 hours is certainly safe if I've logged in during that time. I have more questions than answers right now, and you may feel the same way.

As stated here: link to a message in another game I have limitations on my time spent on recreation. I spend a large portion of it on activities that require no upfront investment (like game work). An example being my current favorite video game "Fallout 4", where the "work" is the game itself. I also spend time playing online real time versions of RPGs (like those on RPoL) using TTS (Tabletop Simulator). I am, however, probably up for a hour or two of discussion or work every 48 hours on RPoL. I have another game ADULT that's not D&D (at all) that's here: link to another game and between these two games that one takes probably more time than this one.

So simply put, you want to comment on the character creation rules, or terms left open, you can comment in your RTJ. I did not want to advertise this game, but it's the second time I've seen an Input and advice thread of mine bumped. The other being 4e D&D. In this (3.5) case I didn't want to give the wrong impression, and so wanted to conirm it's happening, so as to not lose people's attention. It, however, delayed. So thus your RTJ bumps or what have you aren't in jeopardy of being "too late", not for all of May at the very least. Even in the event I accept players, I won't automatically reject RTJs until I've indicated a "deadline".

I'm planning on taking careful attention to this in mid August, as I'll (hopefully) have a place by then. I'd like to consider the "deadline" to be September 30th. I'll probably advertise for players, if I feel the need, in early September.

I am waiting to hear from the remainder of those accepted, and after I have heard from them (or it's been awhile without notice) I'll inform those still not accepted, where they stand in the rankings.

I don't feel as bad saying this now, since I made a lot of substantive posts, but normally I'll just post this to my bio. I had a serious flare of PTSD. So I may take off today. I should be asleep right now, but a terror shook me.

As a general rule, if I would just post to this board to say "This is why I can't post" then I'll not put a false update on the game, as in light up the new message indicator just to show I can't post. If you do, that's great. I appreciate that! I can get TMI, so that's why I don't do that anymore and use my bio.

I do think it's important to state for the record, for the few that don't know the situation. I'm homeless (living in temporary housing) have PTSD, TS (Tourettes), OCD, and Panic Disorder. My TS is the second most severe category as well.

Spoiler for more detail on the TS severity: (Highlight or hover over the text to view)
My TS severity is the tier just below the most severe. People with this most severe have tics that can be criminal. Despite medical reasoning, people have been convicted of assault or arson. My tics aren't quite that bad, but I have serious health risks associated with my tics.

I feel it is warranted to just make that statement once. I'll keep my personal life on my bio as much as I can though. Probably hereafter, unless specifically asked or prompted to by someone here.

Post when you can.  Take it easy.
I have been a GM on here and it take a lot of time and work.  So I just appreciate the work you put in and that you are willing to run a game.

Sometimes the posts just don't what to happen.  The best thing to do is walk away and come back when they do.

People need name changes, I am aware.

People are waiting in the RTJs, I know this. If you haven't been added yet, you might make it at a later point. If you can't wait, I can delete your RTJ if you ask.

I'm logging off for today, the questions were few enough to answer or consider as much as I can during my homelessness.

If I come back online today, I may just read. I'm probably not going to post, and might not even read post, just look and see what threads or users have posted and read later.

Edit: Apparently I had more time than I thought I would. I'll probably reply a a couple more times this hour. A meeting actually didn't run long this week. Usually I get done an hour late.

Please use the next 100 hours from this post to finalize discussion, and the ballot.

I think somewhere along the way, it was misunderstood and miscommunication that having discussion that the players agreed on, was automatically what I would allow. I wanted players to have discussion, and start with the framework.

Somewhere along the way, people jumped to character creation. So please use the next 100 hours to figure out what you really want, as far as sources, and the ballot questions.

Once I have that data, I will be setting the creation rules in stone.

I apologize if I caused miscommunication. I really was trying to get a dialogue between the players about what they wanted, didn't want, and from there I could aggregate that data. I wasn't leaving it totally up to players to decide. Simply opening a discussion of priorities and stuck points.

I'm finally on the road to recovery. I should be on here everyday (or five days a week), catching up.

Thank you for enduring this very frustrating delay.

Since I move in April, and moves usually limit anyone, I'd say we're starting in April. I'm not sure if we're starting the in character section then or not, but I'd guess we will be able to wrap up questions and I'll be able to read all content and give clarification well before April ends. Then again, history is a better indicator than planning.

I plan to have this game be slow, in general, but I have a lot to catch up on, and so want to make an effort to put in extra time to make up for so long an absence.

I'm updating my bio after this, and will be trying to keep RL stuff there during this time, unless, as the last few months, the update is an alert of hiatus of the game. I think it's fair to think and hope I'm past that though.

For all the PMs or RTJs: give me a week, and then bump it. I'm reading here and there, which is why I logged in. I will give a reply when I can. However, reminders about once a week help. :)

Note to self, but note that I hope you all will help me notice. I need to spend a few days reading, reading every word of every thread, and then...

  1. Compile the data into a cheat sheet summary.
  2. Change groups from 0, to allow better view of important threads.
    • Set new groups

  3. Confirm or denounce ambiguous threads. Such as the 3d6 dice.
  4. Post a conclusion thread for view that highlights the most germane posts.
  5. Delete unnecessary threads and posts.
