Part 4a - The ruined cottage

Following Fergus' instructions for testing the wall, Aarnr pushes at it.  Nothing happens.  Then, just to be sure, he throws all his weight into the testing.  There is a grating of stone on stone, and a low rumble.

Aarnr suddenly finds himself sprawled atop a brand new pile of rubble, while the ruined cottage finds itself minus one of its few sections of remaining wall.

The oxen watch the whole proceedings with a look of mild interest in their eyes, lazily chewing the cud.  They do not react to the events, though one of them looks as though it might, just possibly, become the first ox in history to laugh out loud.

Before that can happen though, Fergus leads the animals away and secures them to an ancient fence post...

Re: Part 4a - The even more ruined cottage

"This wall was a bit ... unstable," the priest reports proudly as he regains his footing, picking his way carefully out of the rubble, oblivious to the bemused looks from the ox.  "Should be safe now."

"Good stone that, though," Aarnr appraises the pile. "Worth a bit, I'd say."  Certainly it would be in the fens of his homeland where such a valuable commodity was hard to come by.  Still, he's not here to become a trader.

"Time to go hunting ?" he inquires hopefully.
