Yeah, like I'm in a hurry to face the consequences of throwing Vil's head into the abyss; he can keep napping a while as far as I am concerned. <grin>

I've got to second Asher on that. If we could somehow keep Tot in a coma until it was time to travel I'd vote for that.

Re: We're back...

Hey all,

Updates are coming today.  By the way, I need to correct a few items in the Obelisk thread:

Arkexis, a human MALE, was the injured one at the bottom of the pit.  Asher, Perrato, and Gilrak have ALREADY managed to extricate Arkexis from the pit.  This info was posted earlier, so I'm going to delete or modify some of your posts to maintain consistency.

More later.

Apologies on the blunder there regarding my estimation of Arkexis' position. I'll take greater care in future.

Also, Totmacher shouldn't get any ideas because Perrato rubbed some smelly cream on his wounds.

By my reckoning, Tot got 17 HPs back.

Yes, he's at 10 hp.  -7+17=10.  C'mon, Scott, keep up ;).

Bonus XP???

If there is any bonus XP to be doled out, I believe, Gilrak should be awarded it for "killing" Vil's head (whatever Kevin feels is appropriate based on a percentage of the entire Sorcerer, of course). And perhaps "story points" for saving the rest of the party from a nasty bacterial infection eminating from Tot's prized posession.

Re: I'm refreshing my reading skills...

Hey all,

Yes...the date.  Much ado has been made of the date by some of the locals.  Guess we only get one of these a century.  Seeing as how evil has been so very, very good to both Vil and Tot (who in the party has died more often?  No-one, that's who!), I think we should let it (um, the evil, that is) be its own reward.

In other news, an unexpected change in my consulting job has consumed a lot of my time.  An engineering firm with offices all over the place is essentially acquiring our little business, and I'm faced with the choice of going along or playing the "move fully into academia" card.  Negotiations, meetings, and more negotiations are sucking up a fair amount of time and energy for me.  On the one hand, I will miss the flexibility of my current situation, but on the other, the salary and benefits package hands-down beats anything that I am currently receiving at a small company.  I'll keep you posted.

I'm working through the last of the info in the papers that Gilrak is reading, and will update soon.  Are you planning on leaving the dwarven outpost, or camping/resting and returning, or heading back to Borderton?  Let me know, as it makes a difference at a number of levels.

Cheers,
Kev

I'm for going wherever we can get training before we strike out against big, ugly, evil things again. Borderton sounds like a real winner.

I'd like to take some time to explore the Dwarven outpost a bit more.  It's possible that the dwarves may have delved deeper into the Earth than this Cavern...

What time of day is it?

Could we look around until dark, and head for Borderton in the AM?

Re: I'm refreshing my reading skills...

I really don't want to run into the wizards involved in the caravan assault...on the other hand there is that spice somewhere...and I would hate to leave an unexplored secret door in an ancient dwarven outpost. We have to worry about whether our good deed and the crap we've found is going to be enough to pay for training and resupplying. I could go either way but I'll be paranoid if we stick around...I just think it might be worthwhile if we have time to heal up before an encounter comes...of course we're screwed if we don't have time.

I could go either way but I lean towards better safe than sorry.

Re: I'm refreshing my reading skills...

It's still pretty early in the day--about 10:30ish or so, after all you've done and the ensuing recovery time.

You're out of memorized spells right now, and some of you are pretty wounded.  You've got a pretty badly wounded Arkexis on your hands.  You let me know what you want to do.  I'm posting a couple of bits of info tonight, so that might help.

Re: I'm refreshing my reading skills...

Given the health of Arkexis, I think we are stuck here in the cavern (unless we want to sleep under the stars) until our healer has had his beauty sleep. I also am not up for a mage battle today, given Asher's hit points. But if the stealthier of us choose to take a look around the rest of the outpost, I think we stand to suffer more damage from traps than creatures.

Those are my thoughts.

Re: I'm refreshing my reading skills...

Hey all,

Thanks for your patience.  We are currently moving our offices and everything in 'em--things are in complete chaos at this point, and I had to finish grading and winding up my courses to boot.  I will post here in the next couple of days, though.  You guys are to be commended for sticking it out over these long days, months, and years.  I will be back to a regular schedule soon, and will take a little time off to move us along in an expedited fashion.

Cheers, and thanks,
Kev

Re: I'm refreshing my reading skills...

Happy abrogation of British tyranny weekend to you all!

Hope you are all well, and I hope things are settling down for you in particaular Kevin. I don't envy your current transition.

Personally, I am planning on enjoying a 4 day weekend with little to worry about except shooting fireworks with the kids and maybe a little Adventures in Western Arret, depending on your scheules.

Enjoy the 4th.
