OOC thread

This is a general thread for any out of character comments.  So far, it looks like Scott, Brian, Jason, and Bret are in.  I'll try to get JenM to sign up, but she might not make it.  Let me know if anyone has any questions, comments, etc., and feel free to post as often as you wish.  Right now, there are three separate threads taking place simultaneously.  I will close and merge threads as the game dynamic shifts.  Looking forward to some gaming!

Cheers,
Kev

Shit oh dear.  Hopefully, the erstwhile kitten’s owner isn’t suing your ass.  How did that happen?

Re: OOC thread

Well, I just met the 'owner' it turns out a stray is raising its litter on his balcony. I lied and told him I found it convulsing and took it to the emergency vet. Well it isn't so much a lie as the truth without certain facts.

I got home from a night out at 5 am and let Hitchcock out to go to the bathroom. He froze pointing at a bush at my appartments entrance and wouldn't come when I called. I figured it was this feral gray cat that hangs out around the building (the dead kittens mother, in retrospect) so I kicked the bush to spook it so Hitch would hurry up with his business and I could get to sleep. Instead he lunges into the bush and exits the other side shaking this little white fluffball. I yell at him and he instantly drops the kitten, which at this point is awake and in pain and seems grateful to be held. Within a minute though it starts having convulsions and I rush it to a 24 hr. emergency vet, it is pissing on me every time it convulses and the last convulsion takes place just as I arrive so I hand the vet a dead kitten.

Re: OOC thread

Hey all,

Yes, some bad, bad thing has gotten into my computer and refuses to let go.  I cannot access my server, my Norton AV is down, and I cannot write to CDs anymore.  Plus, my sound card "cannot be located".  I am currently moving small files to floppies, prior to wiping the entire hard drive.  In the meantime, the posting has slowed way down, as I can only do so from my consulting offices in the evenings, and I'm teaching evenings.  I hope to have some time to get a couple of posts in tomorrow, and I hope to load Campaign Cartographer onto the work computer so I can update maps, too.  I'll let you know how it goes.  In the meantime, thanks for your patience.

Cheers,
Kev

Re: OOC thread

Hi All,

I shall be joining you all shortly.  I am hoping to have my character done in the next day or two and submitted for whenever our DM has the time given his own situation.

Things have been a touch insane here but they seem to be finally slowing down enough that I can get back online on a regular posting basis.

Regards.

Re: OOC thread

Hey all,

Thanks again for everyone's patience.  Here's the update:  I am in the midst of finishing my physiology and anatomy course--preparing a final for my students, winding up the labs, and getting ready for a marathon grading session.  However, I should be finished by this weekend.  In the meantime, I'm still looking to regain a functional home computer, but haven't had the time to devote to a fix.  Finally, I managed to locate a copy of CC2 (our graphics software), but the copy and the necessary add-on are just too expensive.  Thus, I'm enlisting the aid of a friend who actually has the older versions.  Hopefully, I'll be able to install this on my work computer...soon.

What this means:  I'll be back to posting regularly in a day or two, but new graphics (read: maps) will probably be lagging until the beginning of next week.  Thanks, once more, for your forbearance.

And a warm welcome to Bruce, AKA Shaman.  He'll be playing a ranger-bard multiclass, and will provide some bardic replacement for Tom's erstwhile character as well as a little more melee muscle for the party.  This also may well mean that either Aine or Caylin will be departing for other destinations--I'd like to keep the party member NPCs I have to juggle on the light side.  Chime in if you have an opinion about which NPC to keep; JenM is unlikely to join us at this point, although the summer might change that.

Hey all,

Totmacher and Villhalas are up next, but it's a bit late and the janitorial staff are getting cantankerous about my continued presence here.  I'll throw up a post tomorrow for the water-tower-bound pair.

Re: OOC thread

Bruce, Welcome to the Group!

Kevin, WRT which NPC to drop at this point -  I'm a bit torn, I would hate for Jen to return to the game this Fall only to find Aine out on Vacation.  However, w/Bruce being part Ranger, I think Caylin may prove to be a bit better balanced class for us atm.

With that, I think we let Aine wander the Woods of Arret for a while - until such a time she chooses to return.

Hi All,

I am just finishing up my character now.  The weekend ended up being occuppied by the unfortunate responsibilities that go along with life.

Re: OOC thread

I have to agree with Jason; I have a strong apprecitaion for the little buggers ranged attack skills (well, at least until the recent misfortune). Unless you (Kev) are planning to kill Aine off, I'm sure Jen's return could be arranged and welcomed.

Re: OOC thread

That may depend upon Shaman. What type of combat style has Shaman adopted?

(My preference is to keep Caylin also, he is spectacular in ranged combat and actually has a more well developed personality than Aine.)

Welcome Shaman--

Leaving the door open for Aine sounds good--but as you all well know, we are somewhat desperate for another frontline fighter--

Re: OOC thread

I will be leaning more toward melee then assaults from range if that helps.  Just waiting on a few answers from Kevin and then I can finish up.

Re: OOC thread

Hey all,

Computers at work have been down for days now.  Sheer chaos.  I will post from a friend's house this weekend.  Sorry for the delays.  Shaman, will get back to you with answers to your questions.  Will move the rest of you along, as well.  Bad luck, worse timing.  Apologies.

Re: OOC thread

Hey all,

Just more crap on my end.  I think I've figured out a way to keep us moving, but my home computer is still outski.  Work computers are up, so I'm posting like...now.  Campaign Cartographer will be in my hands this weekend (it was in the hands of Nat and Jenna prior to now, and Bret can attest to how difficult it is to get those two to do...*anything*).

Good news...kinda

Hey all,

Well, I have the software for our mapping needs, and will update the maps tomorrow.  I still have no access to my ISP from home, so work remains the place for me to post.  My schedule, hopefully, will be settling down now--and I can keep up a relatively steady frequency of postings.

You may start to notice a time element to this portion of the campaign--I will keep a running tally of the minutes elapsed, starting in the next post.  With party members split up, and an element of 'catch the crazy arsonist' to the plot, you may wish to pay attention to the ticking clock.

Re: Good news...kinda

I have altered the Borderton city map to reflect the hybrid nature of the graphics I'm currently saddled with, and more importantly to reflect the approximate positions of the party members.  Asher and Aine are still battling the warehouse fire, and Garryn, Caylin, and Dominique form a small trio a few yards away.

Kev

Time has been a touch more limited of late due to a moderately large family reunion that ends on Wednesday.

Well I've posted my character under my details online here, so it is now all up to Kev.  *grin*

The family reunion is over so time is no longer at a premium or the house quite so crowded.  Now comes the cleaning.  *laugh*

I'm curious Kev, how are we going to intro Hau'dn with a solo thread or dump him right into the mess of it all?
