Aeviternus:
"Touched her prison" is probably a reference to Max's contact with a crystal skull, and if it's imprisoning a god it's got to be a powerful artifact at that. She's the Hindu god of creation and cosmic energy, seems pretty lined up with Max's power.
The reference to Sekteh being the beginning and not the end ties in with Dhroga eating everything and leaving nothing, or darkness in his wake. Clearly Shark-dude prefers things with the lights out. The old gods he fought and slayed were gods of light.
And just for S and G's, Dhroga is also a level 64 mage of Tichondrius; a member, possibly the founder, of the Legendary Tryhards of Tichondrius.
I heart nerds.
The why? Envy, oppression, revenge... Set is also the god of foreigners along with his evil and (therefore) later became associated with foreign oppression, which sounds exactly like what is on its way. Maybe the missing link here is that Shark-dude and I are talking about the same person with different names, I'm using a name that strikes fear while he's using a name that is familiar and friendly (if they're on the same side, that's definitely logical).
Max Jackson:
You reviled that Shakti is where Maxs power comes from. and that she's trapped in the crystal. Which means that crystals can entrap gods or possible beings with divine power. We could use this to our future advantage. We become the god trappers...LOL!
Sounds like Set is back or headed and gathering strength on earth, again.
'Your creature Dhroga' sounds like the shark's referring to something out of Aces past and he's fearful of it as the shark mentioned, but why?
I gather form this info that Set is the real threat at this point.
Max Jackson:
In reply to Seeker of Truth (msg # 335):
Max would know her from her Hinduistic formate. During his world travel and research. She is the divine creator, the sacred force. Max always had a creative mind and the influence of Shakti's power has taken this creativity to a different level. A meta-human level if you will.
Knowing that she is the divine creator makes this important to Max because he know's he can think through any problem giving time and needed energy.
One other point about the sharks statement. Knowing the shark is of Set lets Max know that Set is for sure gunning for the team, which to Max is a very bad thing. To be on a god's radar and all. Max also thinks it had something to do with the crystals. So either Set fears what the crystals may threaten is power base or he seeks to us them against his greatest enemies. It's a god throw down!
Edmund Kirby Smith IV:
So you already told me the sharkie was a Titan, but I did noticethe clues about them working to destroy the gods before, and his referring to us as mortals.
I also went and re-read the true danger thread and I did come up with this guess - there are at least 3 parties (in addition to use) that have been activated in relation to the skulls. The other-worldly world eaters, the demon-span vampire and her brood, and the titans (and their kin, werecreachers). Perhaps the titans were awoken because one of these other parties are the "gods" they once destroyed - and now they are awake and pissed off.
Just guessing...
Xuan Tien John Wu:
Done the thing with the thing.
So I think I have an unfair advantage, having gotten some inside information directly from the source and all. But I'll throw down what I remember and claim whatever prize falls at my feet.
So the Shark-dude is a Titan of sorts and is referring to the Gods of Olde, as per the Greek gods and the like who beat down the Titans and told them to shut their f'ing traps and stay down, 'cause they wanted to rule the world.
There's obvious conflicting forces at work here, where something is breaking down the prisons where the Titans and their like once suffered, and not all of it has to do with Dhroga, though he's a key component. Or Setekh, in this case as the the Titan knows him by. It sounds as though Dhroga is maybe more of a word, possibly a power word, that symbolizes the coming of doom, or a an end to things, possibly rebirth through death and destruction. Of course, all gods can have different names depending on the culture that tried to label them.
Shakti is one of the Gods or godlike beings, who's essence or soul has been shoved in a prison of Crystal Skull. She may be one of many to suffer that fate, and is also on the verge of trying to break free from her prison, in this case via energy transference to Max who may be a suitable carrier of the power. Through him she may either break free or be reborn in the right circumstance.
So we're looking at a return of the dieties or gods of olde. Finding the missing folks in the jungle and possibly the skull will be a key factor in figuring more of this out.
Oh, and the Shark boy seems to have the ability to consume someone's power. That's an awful prospect. The only thing he's likely to be afraid of is Orlando's God. A show of power might be enough to send him running, which may be our only shot because he's gonna be a tough nut to crack for this little band of misfits. Though if I had a shot, I'd jump in his mouth and go super nova inside his ugly head. ;p
How's I do?
Orlando Tibbs:
Well, since I am a geek and I know Setekh is another name for Set the evil Egyptian god of darkness I would also assume that Dhroga and Set are the same person AND I'm gonna go out on a big fucking limb and say that Satin=Dhroga=Set and maybe all of the other evil gods are a manefistation of this Dhroga dude. Which would be a cool way to bring Christianity and polytheism back together like they crashed apart 2000 years ago.
Shakti (thank u google) is the Egyptian god of cosmic energy which make sense for Max And the Silver Surfer. Max needs to start flying that we be freakin great.
I'm thinking that this guy thinks the Titans were here first and that the gods took their world from them, that makes sense with Greek Mythology and Chinese mythology too to a loose extent. But we are now talking Hindu, Greek, and who knows what else so I think we have a blended world war of Gods and Titans on our hands in the past and maybe future again. You havent seen pacific rim have you? Since you and I have chatted a bit I know about the Christian pull on this game so I will be patiently waiting for worlds to collide.
