Re: The Grinning Goblin
How will my gambling skill aide me in the matches - probably bet on knife throwing and boxing as dog fights does not seem like something a "good" aligned person would be into.

I will how ever see if I can lend my healing magic to the injured hounds... if say an owner is seeking to kill off a dog because it is too injured I may step in and see if I can heal the animal animal and keep it for a pet ... ie non adventuring companion.

okay, so nobody wants to bet on the events ? lol

Everyone who wants in on a  Card game let me know. Let me know if you want to be in the same card game with a few strangers tossed in or be at a separate card game with strangers.

Here is how I am going to work it. I will Give each player at the game a Private message Inserted. in the thread indicating what your Cards are. Each Player near the end of the Hand can Make a Gambling Skill Check. It will be made at Difficult. If you succeed at you Gambling. You get to Bump the value of a Card 1 step in either direction for each 5 points you succeeded your skill check by. your bumps can be split between cards.

(Hey where did the Slight of Hand skill go??)

If you want to Cheat, I was going to use sleight of Hand.. but I can't find the skill... so I Will have to think about how to handle that one. Any suggestions wouldbe considered.

What card game do you want to play.

Murgan = x3/x5/x8/x10  2sp 1st round

Hogill = x5/x8/x10/x12  1sp 1st round to place

Okay going to advance this gambling here.. Betting is closed for the Chavez Vs. Johny Boxing match and betting is closed for the first round of Knife Throwing.

In the Knife throwing there were a few surprises.(best out of three throws)
Jack Gets a BullsEye
Mac gets a Bulls Eye
Maurice hits the edge of the bulls eye
Hogill Hits just outside the Bulls Eye.

George, Horace, Murgan and Nancie are Eliminated. You may Onlu bet of the 4 who move on for the next Round. Raz Loses 2 sp on his bet on Murgan but wins 5sp on Hogill you come out 3sp ahead.

Chaven Vs Johny
In the first round the boxers come out into the sand pit and dance around one another for the first 30 seconds. Then  Chavez slips in the sand and takes a few blows from Johny.
In the second round Chavez Comes out fighting and lands a few good Blows on Johny.
In the Third Round, They come out and Pelt each other with Blows, Chavez Takes the worst of it though. The Bout Ends without a Knock out but Johny is declared the Winner.
Since Raz Bet on Chavez, Raz Loses 10sp, with your winnings from the Knife throwing, your now down 7sp total.

Re: The Grinning Goblin
Okay so Linian and Raz take seats at a table with 3 other (2 Male and 1 Female )

They Introduce them selves as Crusty, Verneir, and Salia.

Okay as stated successful gambling skill rolls can Bump your card values up or down as you like by 1 step per 5 points of success, you may also change the suite of the card for a 20 point success. You may also use your Salesmanship or acting skills to try and Bluff the opponents. Acting is more effective than Salesmanship.

The Ante is 50cp to the pot blind. Table Limit is is a 1sp raise. The table is Run By a House dealer.

So far we have Linian and Raz joining the Table. Haven't heard from Krahn if he will join the table or not so We will proceed from here. I will post each of your Hands in private.

We are playing 5 card draw. You may have a gambling roll after the initial Deal and another roll if you chose to "draw".

There will be 2 rounds of betting.. one after the first deal... and 1 after the draw.
During each round of betting, no one may Call until all have had a chance to raise or see the current bet.

Since both Linian and Raz have already indicated an interest in the game I will assume you are ante in. Here is the first Deal.

Roll your gambling skills as secret rolls.(btw I do realize allowing the bumps will allow for some odd numbers of Cards in the deck, but for the purposes of the game we will ignore such inconsistencies.)

OOC: As I see it, the bet is 1 sp 50 cp, so I would need to add 50 cp for a call.

I'll raise another silver so the bet is 2 silver.  I like to keep the numbers round.

Re: The Grinning Goblin
Okay Salia Tosses in her 50cp to bring the total to 2sp and Calls

Raz you in for 25cp more?

Salia Trades in 2 cards and is dealt 2 fresh cards.

Linian trades in 2 cards and is dealt 2 fresh cards.

Raz trades in 2 cards and is Dealt 2 fresh cards.

You may now Roll a 2nd gambling check if you wish. Let me know your result and any changes you wish to make.

BTW just to make sure were on the same page, each roll can only modify the cards you were dealt during that roll... So the first roll can only modify the cards you kept and the second roll can only modify the new cards you are  dealt.

Re: The Grinning Goblin
Salia Fingers a silver piece out in front of her small pile and then looks at her cards and then at you as she fingers an additional Silver piece thoughtfully but doesn't seem to have made a decision yet.

You not this would leave here with a pile of coppers in front of her.
