@ BONESPIKE -- your game is Balance of Powers.
Just mentioning here (in case someone sees the game, like me, and already RTJ'd)

Re: VnV Players Wanted

I'm playin a couple great VnV games now, but the game I ran sorta died.  I admit, I killed it.  Anyway...

In a game were GM has us split off in parties, I was thinking it'd be cool to have each of us GM the other threads...  Didn't fly there.  I was also looking for another GM in my old VnV game, but got a backup GM who offered a bunch of great ideas & was a great player (The Wind).

Anyway, I'd like to play a game where we collab GM.
I play Universalis, & am very interested in collab GM-ing (or GM-less gaming).

Any 3 people interested who know the rules?
(I admit, I'm weak-ish on rules & regularly need to consult book...)

Re: VnV Players Wanted

I have been thining of creating a game for solo hero with one of thr other GM/players. We would both run for a character a character.

This way we would log on post as both a GM and as a character.

Thinking this or something like it would be a good model for rpol.

Sounds good, but 'solo' heroing might not be that fun, seems like better for duos?
Not sure...?

I was just suggesting a model. The idea is to find a way that you and another VnV fan might create a game for one another here on rpol.

Re: VnV Players Wanted

I would be willing to participate.
I do NOT know the rules well; but have GMed a bulk of games in my life ... and have GMed many games this way. In fact, leavened many of the rules for many of the games that way.

I'd be happy to GM for a solo or a duo ... and may I suggest that players be allowed to play an orphaned character (one of the ones on this site that they made for another game, which died before they could really play that character)?

I would be happy to be involved in this endeavor, in any form.
Although I've few characters that would be useful for this.

Re: VnV Players Wanted

@ Star Master & @ Senator -- cool.

I see no reason why this game couldn't have characters from here or from wherever...?

- we can create a thread & you can RTJ?  Or ... ?

@ Senator -- you'd need to have a VnV book (or PDF)...?

Q: Are yo uboth wanting to do this, or just saying you would be interested?  Anyone else?

I already have the PDF.  But it's not a system I know well.

But, Yes, I am willing to be a part of this.  Let's give it a go.

Re: VnV Players Wanted

I just killed off a Marvel Heroic Roleplaying game I was GMing (for reasons I don't need to go into here.)

That means I might have room for running a new VnV game in my gaming schedule.

I'm fielding ideas for games that might interest players. Just looking for some brainstorming.

No commitment from me on running anything, yet. But I'm looking for a fresh angle that might be fun to run.

Ideas?

Re: VnV Players Wanted

For a while, now, I've been toying with a notion for a new game. The PC's would all be retired supers living on a tropical paradise. For reasons I haven't fully developed most of the practicing supers suddenly vanish.
Thus The Geriatric League of Super Acquaintances has to step in and save the world!

Personally, I'm having trouble aiming this (it wants to veer to the comedic so hard it's a tragedy), and would be happy if someone else wanted to figure it out.

Re: VnV Players Wanted

I don't think it needs to veer to the comedic, unless you're going by the Sponge Bob model with Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy, and lots of geriatric "Matlock" style jokes tossed in.  Instead, I'd look to "The Dark Knight Returns", "Kingdom Come" or "The Equalizer" as inspiration.  ;)

Re: VnV Players Wanted

Thanks for responding!

Working out the effects of aging would be an interesting house rule to create.

The overall premise is a bit similar to the "New Dawn" game I'm running now.

Re: VnV Players Wanted

No problem!

Part of the "aging" stuff I would imagine best left to roleplaying, rather than mechanics... I mean, an overall lowering of the stats might be appropos, but then, when you factor in level advancement (training), not to mention these are SUPER HEROES... I'm not sure how far down that road you'd want to go.

Honestly, I mean, heroes in that setting, in the V&V mechanic, would be very high level... and therefore powerful, even if you knocked some of their stats down.

You wouldn't think of reawakening Naptown?

Maybe just to wrap up the story/adventure we were in?
Or maybe revitalize it with a new twist to theme?

That might be a good option.

How many of the Naptown players are on this forum? Interest?

Re: VnV Players Wanted

Oh SnapTown, I'm around for Nap Town!
:)

I liked the Senior Citizen heroes idea, but it will obv lean towards funny.  It's natural.  And I'd suggest that you create an additional "age weaknesses" table that players would roll on and have to keep.

Age Weakness Table (sample)
  1. Significant Sense Weakness (impaired eyes+ears, blindness, etc)
  2. Chronic Disease
  3. Limited Lifespan (ie terminal)
  4. Humiliating problem (loss of bladder control, colostomy bag, etc)
  5. Mental Weakness (dementia, forgetfullness / alzheimers, disorientation/dizzyness, etc)
  6. Post Traumatic Stress
  7. Addiction / Alcoholism
  8. Plastic Surgery side-effects
  9. Financial Crisis
  10. Heart Weakness
  11. Fainting
  12. Oxygen Tank & shortness of breath

etc
That was just a few ideas, but it could add some significant roleplaying limitations...?

even if it's just the three of us ...
Three games: we each run one, and play for the other two GM's in their game.

As this is your baby, SD, set the game up and after we RTJ, you can log us as Co-GMs.

Err, maybe I should say I'm more psyched on Nap Town than I am to co-GM run multiple heroic duo's.

Waiting to see if Naptown revivifies...?  Fingers are crossed!

@ Star Master & Senator & others (?)
--> how about THIS idea instead of previous "let's GM eachother's characters" idea:

A V&V game where we have 3-4 GM/s?  We post in a few 'z' threads our general ideas & thoughts, & try to get on same page, and then invite some players & just run a regular V&V game?  We can collaborate/compare/share plot ideas in the 'z' threads & so on...?

We would agree not to 'undo' or 'counter' another GM's post, and we all attempt to post 1x a week or so?
GM's could optionally also have an NPC that levelled at same rate as players (ie no exp received)...?

Not sure how that idea sounds to you?
I'd like to see 3-4 GM's interested & then start posting our ideas...?

- SD

I setup Villains & Vigilantes Council game -- link to another game
Any potential V&V GM's are invited to co-GM.  GM's should have (at minimum) the game rules (pdf/book) and at least a general idea of how the game mechanics work.  You can RTJ and pick a 'Chancellor' name; all GM's will be Chancellors in the V&V Council.
