Re: 0.3 | Mission at Last: Team Storm Deployed!
"Whoa..!" the kid certainly didn't expect the sand to burst open beneath his feet and red tendrils to go after him. ' He didn't even use hand signs! I thought only the kazekage could do stuff like this! Yahiro thought as he tried to get out using his enhanced speed and agility. But no matter how bothersome the jutsu itself was, he still made the jonin release it. That itself was already a feat, right!?

" What, want me to deactivate the jutsu now, because I am not supposed to be able to use it!? A jonin of your class shouldn't have trouble handling something like this, right!?" Yahiro mocked loudly while he tried to get out of the grip of the jonin. The blue haired boy also tried to distract him a little using his words to buy some time as he thought about a strategy of some sort... ' I see two options here.. outrun this annoying jutsu or simply blow it away along with him. He doesn't seem to know anything about that jutsu... Hm..'

16:54, Today: Minamoto Yahiro rolled 1 success using 6d10 with the World of Darkness nWoD system with a target of 8, rerolling 10s with rolls of 5,8,3,2,5,7. Breaking free.

It was tricky between the number of them and the strength of the wires, but Yahiro's reflexes won out again and he broke free. The copper whipped under the sand again out of sight.

"I'm just curious who would teach you to control chakra so tightly without teaching you self-discipline. He's a poor teacher."

Yahiro panted a little as he landed on the soft sand after escaping the jonin's jutsu. " I already told you about myself, so take a wild guess. " Yahiro answered, before he made a few quick jumps to gain some distance between his sensei and himself. He felt that his jutsu was slowly running out and it was better to refresh it while he had time and wasn't wrestling with the sensei's kekkei genkai. After concentrating for a moment he felt his chakra armor strengthen once again. ' Alright... Let's see if I can make this work..' Yahiro thought as he prepared himself.

The jounin laughed, flicking his skirts out of the way and re-sheathing the tonfas.
"Those must have been interesting lessons then. I hope you didn't make too much of a mess."

In place of the weapons he pulled out a familiar flask and started to unscrew the lid, his only concession to the fight being to sweep the hand holding the lid toward Yahiro to target him with another tangle of cables.

16:33, Today: GM, on behalf of Akil Yamin, failed (no successes) using 2d10 with the World of Darkness nWoD system with a target of 8, rerolling on 9 or more with rolls of 7,4. R3 grapple.

Expecting it this time and with his reflexes enhanced, Yahiro easily evaded the attack.

Re: 0.3 | Mission at Last: Team Storm Deployed!
' So these can reach me even at this distance... ' Yahiro thought as he dodged the attack. Prepared and with more time it was much easier to dodge the jutsu. ' Now would be my chance...' the kid thought as he opened his palm. ' This could show me how strong I truly am and how far I could get..' the kid thought, as he looked at Akil.

His chakra began to gather together into a single point, before he stopped and clenched his fist. ' Calm down. This is not something meant to be unleashed at this place.' He had said once before what his jutsu was made for and a sparring match was certainly not the proper place for it. With a deep breath he disregarded his plan, even if it meant never truly finding out where his limits were. Concentrating on the fight once more he narrowed his eyes from where he stood, trying to figure out what the jonin held in his hand. ' The hell is that?'

Minamoto Yahiro rolled 2 successes using 3d10 with the World of Darkness nWoD system with a target of 8, rerolling 10s with rolls of 9,3,9. Notice.

' Wait.. what? He is eating Yoghurt now? ... Well.. no Tonfas to block my punches!' Yahiro thought before deciding to rush in once more and attack the jonin with his close combat abilities. Since he didn't want to use his trump card, this was the most reliable tactic.

As Yahiro moved forward more of the cables broke from the sand, flicking across his path. He darted through them though and landed another hit, even through the hidden armor.

The jounin braced himself against the weight of the attack, and thrust the canister upward whilst covering his eyes. Fire burst out around them with the ignition of flash powder. The sphere of flames enveloped the immediate area in green light.

In the midst of the glare Akil pushed the burning copper dust on, calling too on the cables already in the sands to lace together, knotting and spilling out from wire into a wall.

10:11, Today: Akil Yamin rolled 1 success using 3d10 with the World of Darkness nWoD system with a target of 8, rerolling on 9 or more with rolls of 9(+4),6,3. Imprison.

Not expecting the suddenly burst of flames Yahiro momentarily closed his eyes, giving Akil enough time to imprison him with his jutsu without much resistance. When the teen opened his eyes everything around him remained dark.

Sudden panic overcame the kid. " What!? Did that stupid light make me blind now!?" Yahiro voiced out loud, apparently not having noticed a metal dome closing around him while he had his eyes closed. "That was a cheap move Akil-sensei!" the genin shouted, but noticed that he was still able to see the blue light of his own jutsu.

' Good thing, I am not blind. Bad thing, I can't see Akil even though he was just a few feet away in front of me before.  So how do I locate him and get out of here...?" Yahiro thought, as he tried to think of an plan.

Re: 0.3 | Mission at Last: Team Storm Deployed!
After taking a few steps forward Yahiro was already able to see the solid metallic wall in front of him, explaining why he couldn't locate the jonin anymore. ' If I don't get out of here quickly, this might be the end... Man.. who even came up with this jutsu?' Yahiro growled in his mind, but it was the very thing that made him remember.

' Didn't I read up on this after my graduation day? ... "The Great Djinn" .. no.. Shukaku ... ' A wide grin appeared beneath his scarf as he put his arms up to guard himself while the lightning armor around him thickened. Thanks to taking his time and thinking up a plan, he was certain there was hardly any time left to act, before the jonin would attack so he decided to brace himself for the attack instead.

Invisible to Akil Yahiro's eyes had a strange glimmer or glow. Perhaps it was because of his own delusion, perhaps it was because he saw a ray of hope or perhaps it was something else entirely. What ever it was, one thing was clear, he was growing even in the middle of a match.

Re: 0.3 | Mission at Last: Team Storm Deployed!
No wonder Arash had struggled to make any headway with Yahiro. His teaching method involved being an immovable obstruction to pen in rebellious behaviour. Unfortunately that only worked if you were perceived as immovable, and in a straight and fair fist-fight Yahiro might not win, but he would fight well.

Fortunately Akil knew better than to fight fair with anyone.

He stepped up to the dish gathered more chakra, shaping it carefully and then pouring it into the metal again before his control wavered. Trapping Yahiro would do little good if the construct just collapsed on top of him.

11:17, Today: Akil Yamin rolled 4 successes using 8d10 with the World of Darkness nWoD system with a target of 8, rerolling on 9 or more with rolls of 2,7,9(+10,9,1),1,1,5,8,5. copper dance.

Even as the chakra flooded into the copper again the metal shifted, more of it joining from the sand and cutting the prison deeper into the ground. Sand hissed and slithered beneath Yahiro as the dome closed into a sphere.

Re: 0.3 | Mission at Last: Team Storm Deployed!
Yahiro could hear that Akil was doing something with the sand, but it was impossible for him to know, since there was no way he could tell what was going on beneath his feet. Knowing Akil was on the move however, Yahiro realized that this was the time to act, since it seemed like the jonin needed a little more time.

Before he jumped into action however, he remained in his position, not moving one inch. His initial plan was to simply break out of the dome using sheer force. His confidence told him that his jutsu had enough power to allow him just that, but now that he thought about it, power was an odd thing. At first he hesitated to use it, believing that it was for the purpose of killing only, but now he was about to use it to free himself. So did that mean purpose gave shape to power? No, it didn't. Power had the shape of what ever the people want to see it as.

While he could use it to free himself, his opponent could think that he was trying to attack him through the wall of iron. It's the same as this jutsu. In the hands of the past Kazekage or even Akil, it gave hope and it's power was honored. When Shukaku controlled the sand in the past, the pure force of fear clouded their minds. The tailed beast possessed overwhelming power, so much power that by copying the principle of it could grant you the title of a kage. Was that the reason to fear it? No, the real reason was the overwhelming hate it, similar to all tailed beast, possessed.

Yet, could anyone blame it?  Who wouldn't hate humanity, if it stripped you from your freedom and abused your power for their own goals? They call those who protect the village from that hate heroes and yet those are the very same, who gave birth to its' hate. If even someone dimwitted like him could realize that, why couldn't the people of the past realize that as well? The reason was the very same reason why he himself had never truly tried to be accepted.

People's judgment, regardless of what caused it, create a stereotypical thinking that lasts. It is so difficult to change, that many, including himself, get to a point where they believe that it's useless. So instead of trying to get their affection, his way was to separate himself and keep his own existence using violence, since hate and fear were emotions that did not lie. But, what it also did was to blind him from seeing the kindhearted attempts of others, creating misunderstandings and misjudgments. He knew that now, thanks to Akil's lecture. Perhaps it was time to give Arash's lecture a go as well...

With a steady smile Yahiro lowered his guard and stood straight up, still surrounded by the endless seeming darkness. Even though he had never faced Akil before, this darkness felt nostalgic. Being trapped alone, doing everything he can to protect that little something he held on... Maybe his past did leave a deeper mark than he thought, since the first thing he did when he was trapped was becoming defensive, opposing his usual offensive and violent nature.

' Heh, how ironic. The time when I am literally blind is the very same time when I feel like my eyes have been opened...' the blue haired genin thought, before he took a few steps forward and placed his hand on the solid iron sand wall. I wanted to find out, if I could hold my own in the outside world to see, if I was ready to leave. The real question however, should have been whether I could stay or would be forced to leave for good, shouldn't it? Well I guess it's time to find out! With that said Yahiro closed his eyes and focused his chakra in his hand while fusing his nature with it. '  If I want to be accepted, I have to accept them first. So let's see, if I am able to do that or if I am destined to be trapped in solitude.' was his final thought, before he poured every bit of his chakra into this test.

Instead of using his chakra to form a weapon, which would be used to break out of the sphere, he tried to manipulate a part of the iron sand to ultimately opening a path for him. Knowing the very basics of the kekkei genkai, he knew that his lightning nature could manipulate iron sand to a certain degree. That however would require to things: A massive amount of electricity and the ability to fuse his lightning chakra with the iron sand. Whether he could fuse those two together would be determined by his chakra, which represented his mental energy and would in the end decide whether he would free himself from the darkness and could accept others to form a bond with them or not. Well that was the theory at least... " Come on! Listen to me for once sand, desert, what ever! Open up!"

Re: 0.3 | Mission at Last: Team Storm Deployed!
Of all the things which might have happened, all the possible solutions a greater understanding of chakra theory and physics might suggest, Yahiro got it wrong. Pushing a surge of electrical chakra into the copper prison did not allow him to create an escape path.

It caused an explosion.

The sudden thrust of electrical energy into a higly conductive metal held together by magnetic chakra destabilised the control Akil held over it. Copper sand blew outward in a stinging hot rain, searing red under the sun. As much copper flew outwards an equal measure was thrown back toward the genin, covering the ground, the boy, and the jounin in metal filings.

Akil lowered his arm from his eyes moved back, bringing his hands together to re-arm the jutsu. Over the stream of hand seals he studied Yahiro, not quite sure what to make of the blast.

Re: 0.3 | Mission at Last: Team Storm Deployed!
Be it the enormouse heat, the destructive force or the deafening sound, a explosion was no joke and Yahiro experienced that at first hand. Not only had he gotten hit by the hot copper, he had also been blown away by the blast and as a result crash landed in the sand several feet away.

After a few seconds a arm shot out of the sand, before the rest of the genin followed siut. His armor of lighting had disappeared along with Akils' copper prison. Cough Cough Cough " Well.. this didn't go.. as planned... What.. the hell.. was that? " Yahiro mumbled panting heavily. Regaining his breath he slowly rose from his position taking a look at his surroundings. " Guess that means trying to bond with others won't save me from getting hurt. Well, at least I am out now.."

It didn't take long for the genin to spot Akil. The jonin did seem surprised about the explosion, but it didn't look like he wanted to stop at this point, even though the genin had just taken a explosion to the face. That being said, Yahiro was surprised that he was still in one piece. Apart from being tired and feeling the pain of his newly acquired burns, he was still pretty much fine. He didn't really know the reason for that, but it didn't matter right now as well.

Using the little strength he had left, he threw both his arms up. " Alright, this is my limit. I lost." Yahiro announced with a small sigh. ' At least I got what I fought for..'

Akil continued his hand signs and the copper started to react, pulling out of the sand and off of both shinobi. It curled and coiled around his feet before rising and disappearing under the jounin's kaftan.

"You're getting smarter already." This time the flask he pulled out really did contain yoghurt and he drank it straight from the jar. When it was empty he pulled at his scarf and re-arranged it to cover his head.

"It's much too hot out here. You should go home and rest, before you wilt." He grinned. "You can consider it an order from your team leader. And I need to make my report."

" Meh, this heat is nothing I am not used to, but.." Yahiro started, before he had to yawn. " I am pretty exhausted. Oh, just two more things. You didn't come up with the idea of me transfering to your team on the spot did you?" the genin asked narrowing his eyes a little. It didn't really sound like anything that the jonin would decide on the spot like that. It was probably something he and the other jonin and the kazekage ended up with. Well at least that was his best guess.

The genin only nodded as he followed the older ninja back towards the village. " In that case I guess I don't have to go and talk to Arash-sensei about this, since he probably already knows huh...

Well, anyway, the seconds question is pretty simple. As my new team leader you surely have got one or two advises for me on how to improve myself and get stronger after this sparring match right? I might have admitted defeat here, but I don't plan on staying weak forever you know."
Yahiro pointed out, before he expectantly looked at Akil as if he had all the answers of the world... or to his question at least.

He considered this. "You're predictable. That's an incredible weakness. It was a short fight, and only a sparring session, but all my other students can defeat you in a fight if that's the standard you practise. You have a great deal to learn and a lot to improve in. Hitting your opponent isn't enough."

" At least nobody goes around and expects great things from me, if I am the weakest genin here..." Yahiro mumbled out loud while his frustration got him fired up.  'I am still the weakest!? Hell no! I am not going to let all my training go to waste like that! I won't stop until I am the strongest there is! Just you wait...!' Calming down to be able to think for a moment about his own strength and weaknesses he got to one conclusion.

" Well I see your point. Beating my opponent up is pretty much the only thing I can really do though. 'It was the easiest to learn by myself after all...' Last time I tried something else, it blew up in my face...

In any case, you said that I have lot to learn and to improve myself in, right? Can you name a few things, so I can work on that? I mean, do you expect me to learn a new jutsu or something, since punching people isn't going to suffice?"

Re: 0.3 | Mission at Last: Team Storm Deployed!
" Errm sorry about that. I tend to forget things pretty quickly, so I usually ask right away when I have something on my mind. " Yahiro admitted, scratching the back of his head. All that occupied his mind now were three things: The first was the explosion he had accidentally caused. It had been powerful enough to blow Akils' copper sand prison apart, so it interested the kid a lot. He was constantly searching for ways to get stronger after all.

The second was Arashs' training. Sure, Yahiro usually didn't get what the jonin wanted from him at first and he also wasn't really the... emotional attached kind of teacher. Well Yahiro never felt that way at least. Perhaps it was because of his own emotional distance that kept him from seeing it. Never the less, Arash was still a excellent sensei and Yahiro had learned quite a few things that went beyond his taijutsu. The reason why he had stuck to what allowed him to become a genin instead of showing of his growth beyond that point during the match with Akil can be put into one simple word. Pain.

The first thing that came to his mind when he thought about the training was the painful experience after the harsh and motiveless seeming practices. The only thing that kept him going back than was his stubborn and thick head. While that had slowed his growth as a human being tremendously, his "refusing to give up until he succeeded" was certainly helpful in terms of physical training. What he had learned during this harsh training was something that made him grow and surpass his previous limits, even though only a few were aware of his current power, as he had no reason to reveal any of his true strength up to this point.

' The things you do and learn just to survive... Only thinking back gives me goose bumps.. But I better check my notes for clues later..' With that in mind, the only worry left was tomorrows training or rather the social bonding that was included with it. That alone almost scared him more than Arashs' training... almost. ' Why the djinn is being a human and a ninja so difficult..!?'

" Alright than. I will think about what you have told me. Thanks for today. I have learned a lot." the genin said, before making a small bow to excuse himself and do what he was "ordered" to do before: Go home and rest... or at least he wanted to, if there hadn't been a single, but quite important detail the blue haired genin needed to know and had almost forgotten. " Wait a second. Where do we even meet up tomorrow?"

"Of course. I keep forgetting. We meet outside the Hall of Pain. There's no need to rush out. Give me a little time to explain things to the girls..
You do know where that is?"

The complex of training halls had wide streets around them. Subsequently the area had become something of a thoroughfare for shinobi and was crowded with equipment stores, clinics, cafes, and anything a jounin might want at the end of a day of arduous training. Although Arash had taken Team Storm into the Hall of Pain a couple of times, it had not been often and only to use an empty sparring chamber.

Rumours in the academy had it entry to the Hall of Pain was denied to unaccompanied genin, and that a jounin needed a special pass from the Kazekage before they were permitted to use the part of the complex known as the Hall of Death.

The Hall of Pain seemed like a appropriate place for training and he had always wondered what had been inside the Hall of Death. Perhaps he would find that out tomorrow...

" Yea I have been there a few times, so I should be fine. I will see you tomorrow than." the genin said with a small final bow, before he would head home to study. In his case it meant spending the rest of the day to hopefully answer the questions he had left...
