0.4 | Squad 9 Reformed
Sunlight broke through patches of stubborn cloud in bright blades and subtle chill crept under shirts and aroudn scarves without any wind. But that was outside. Inside the classroom Ms. Tsubaki and her students were spared the mean weather.

"Yoko-chan." Ms. Tsubaki smiled with some effort. "Why don't you try the transformation jutsu one more time. And this time, look very closely at your subject. You need to try to emulate Makoto's appearance exactly."

Kagome Makoto stood at the front of the classroom, hands resting on both her hips and looking bored.

Rolling her eyes slightly, "Alright..." Yoko took her time to look Makoto over carefully, and from more then one angle. When she finally stood, she pursed her lips into a tight line, and seemed to be waiting for something to happen. What ever it was she then nodded to herself, and started the hand signs for the transformation jutsu.

She was focused, anyone looking could tell, but there was also the darkness under her eyes that told she had not slept well that night. Those who could sense chakra could also tell that she was being very careful with her chakra flow, not quiet choking it down as she finished the last hand sign.

OOC:
I think I understand the rolling system, but feel free to bop me if I mess up.

OOC: you did fine :)

This time with focus and concentration Yoko was able to copy Makoto's appearance. While still standing like Yoko. And with Yoko's blue eyes. And Yoko's hairstyle. But if she hadn't been standing next to Makoto she could probably have gotten away with it.

Ms. Tsubaki smiled patiently again.
"Better. Remember the little details count just as much as the obvious things."

There was a knock at the door and Ms. Tsubaki excused herself for a moment to step outside. After a minute or so she came back in.

"Yoko-chan, could you go help the gentleman in the hallway?"

"I try to sensei... but... every time no matter how hard I try, something is always off... and if I dont have time to focus, it goes wrong," Yoko muttered, as Tsubaki-sensei went to the door.

When she came back, Yoko tried to look like she had been good, though it was almost never the way she looked, even when she had been doing nothing. Dispelling the jutsu she nodded, "Yes sensei," she said before moving to the door, and shutting it behind her to see who it was waiting for her that she was to help.

Re: 0.4 | Squad 9 Reformed
Cunningly disguised as a totally normal, totally not-in-charge-of-anything-important-let-alone-a-village jounin, Hokage Kimura-sama rest a hand on his hip and brought the other down in a peace sign. His genius use of a Konoha jacket over a blue roll-neck and khaki capri pants, and the sneaky abandonment of the white and red robes of office, made it highly unlikely anyone would recognise him. Unless they were from Konoha.

"Yo." He grinned. "Hiya Uzumaki-san."

Re: 0.4 | Squad 9 Reformed
Normally, Yoko would have been unflappable, but when confronted by the Hokage, dressed as a jounin. Even she had trouble getting words from her brain to her mouth, though it as working as first her jaw dropped, and then tried to work around words that were not coming.

After a few attempts she finally found her voice, and a little snark too, "playing hooky? or did they finally run out of paperwork?" she asked, trying to gather the remains of her dignity as she stood facing the hokage, "I'm going to go out on a limb, and guess if you're here like that, either you're not here on official business... or... I have no clue."

The hokage nodded. "She makes me delegate all the fun work and keep all the boring stuff for myself. But I wanted to deal with this one personally, so I had to sneak out. Come on, before she notices I'm not really sick."

He waved her on up the hallway with him and started leading Yoko out of the academy.

"So, you know how you failed to graduate this year?"

Re: 0.4 | Squad 9 Reformed
She moved to follow, slumping some when he brought up her latest failure, "Partly... I dont know why, but the Transformation jutsu just gives me so many problems... and I need time if I am to get it even half right, and something is always still off about it..." She then clenched her hands, "I guess also the fights from time to time dont help either..."

She wasn't the kind of kid to hide things, and given who she was speaking with, she didn't see the point. Walking behind him, she was careful to keep just the right amount of distance that was correct for a jounin, rather then Kage.

Looking ahead toward where he was taking her she sighed, "If there is another reason though, No, I don't know it. And that frustrates me because if I don't know why I failed, I cant try to get better."

"Well, to be brutally honest, it's because you were number 13.
Everyone in the class is ranked in order of their grades and then the cream of the crop are divided into teams of three. If you had placed one rank higher you would have passed. Or if two more of your class mates had passed to put you in 15th place. You only just failed."

Re: 0.4 | Squad 9 Reformed
For a moment, Yoko looked utterly confused as she stopped, before she frowned. It was a sour looking thing and most often lately it had been one she wore right before throwing the first punch. "And if 2 more of my classmates had passed, then what? I get a pity pass because teams of 3 are needed and I only just failed?" she asked, hands clenched and slightly shaking.

Her anger and confusion changed again, though only slightly, "Then why are you here? You said you wanted to deal with this personally, but telling me 'Im a loser but only just' does not sound like something a Kage would want to do unless they get some kind of perverted pleasure out of it." She looked over him, as though trying to see if that matched him or not, "And that doesn't seem right to me."

Re: 0.4 | Squad 9 Reformed
"Hey." Yoshirou held his hands up defensively. "I told you I needed your help with something. If your pride is more important I can look for other options."

They stopped in the yard in front of the academy.
"You kids always take things so personally. Sometimes it's not about you. Do you think it's fairer to make two strong students waste a whole extra year in school just because their best next partner is a bit shaky on her chakra control?"

Re: 0.4 | Squad 9 Reformed
Seeing his hands go up, she stopped and took a deep breath. She then held it for close to a minute before finally letting it out. When she did, she looked at least a bit calmer, "Im sorry. Its not so much pride, but frustration and the fact that I speak first and think later. And no, I don't think that would be fair to them," she added, then under her breath, "my chakra control is fine though."

If he gave her a look for the breath holding she would shrug, "Counting to 10 doesn't help any more," she said as explanation.

"I would like to help, if I can that is," she said it as she eyed him, but she still looked a little like a pet that had just gotten sprayed for doing something they were not suppose to.

He grinned. "I knew I could count on an Uzumaki." He started walking again and heading off in the direction of the training grounds.

"So, a few months ago Iwamoto Akira, Uchiha Micheru, and Senju Kumirama graduated and were assigned to Yukimura Shirohiko.

But couple of weeks ago they ran into trouble on a mission. I need you to fill in for Kumirama for a while."

Re: 0.4 | Squad 9 Reformed
Having started following again she nodded, having remembered when they had became genin. She had not been prepared for the bombshell that he dropped on her, and she stumbled and tripped after him, but her training and youthful exuberance served her well as she turned her trip into a cartwheel.

She then slowed again for a moment, before moving to catch up and walk beside Yoshirou, "Will Kumirama be alright?" she asked, her joy banked for the moment, as worry for one of her fellow ninja sunk in.
