Re: 0.4 | Capturing Hope: C-rank Mission
When both Carp adn Reji hit the net, Kisara was just barely capable of holding her footing and not join them in the stream. She stood strong, but that would hardly be enough to really stop them. "Can't... Hold... Them!"

Hisoka threw herself into helping when her net was added to the mix, putting all of her will into making her tiny muscles help.  "No!  I'm not losing Reji-kun or the fish!  We have to pull harder!"

Re: 0.4 | Capturing Hope: C-rank Mission
The carp was strong, that was for sure. In fact, even as he fought to keep his footing, the fish continued to make headway straight for the girl's nets. He was so focused on trying not to fall into the water that Kisara and Hisoka's comments went in through one ear and out the other. Sure, they'd probably register after this was all over, but for now. . .

Said fool was trying not to take a swim.

Re: 0.4 | Capturing Hope: C-rank Mission
With two nets and the line holding it, the carp really began to panic. A thick tail threw water up from the river, glimmering red, before disappearing into the churning waters again. No longer able to swim straight it jerked and thrashed, yanking at the genins' grips.

Honoka unfurled from a tree, fingers flashing through handsigns. With a practices flick her whip coiled around the fish and held it tight. Their sensei dropped from her branch and braced her heels in the ground.

Eventually the fish weakened, pulling less.

"Bring it out now. Gently."

Re: 0.4 | Capturing Hope: C-rank Mission
Hisoka did her best to bring it out slowly now.  Too much force and the nets could snap, and then they would be out another fish.  She was gentle, but firm in helping to drag the fish in.  If it started the struggle again, she would not be caught by surprise.  This could be their target!

Re: 0.4 | Capturing Hope: C-rank Mission
Thanks to the girls' help in slowing the fish, Reji did his best to help pull it in as well. It was too soon to breathe a sigh of relief, freed from the danger of taking a swim. If they didn't work together now, it seemed only a matter of time before the fish broke loose!

Kisara didn't understand what the Sensei meant for gently, she couldn't be gentle while putting all her strength into bringing the fish to them.

Re: 0.4 | Capturing Hope: C-rank Mission
As the wriggling carp emerged from the water, the reasons for its immense strength became apparent. This fish was almost big enough to swallow Hisoka whole! Probably it wouldn't do it any good, but she'd fit.

The red and gold scales shimmered in the light, long barbels hanging from its lips like a moustache. It lashed its tail hard onto the beach to lift itself from the ground, but the ninja hung on and it soon stopped fighting quite so hard.

Honoka stood up and just stared at it for a long moment.

"It's big.

Wiping her hands on her leggings, she moved her hands through the air above the fish. Happy with her measurements she rolled out the summoning scrolls. In a puff of smoke a huge ceramic urn appeared beside her.

Removing the lid she said "This is the hard part. We must get the fish into here."

The carp flicked its tail again and knocked Rejima over.

Re: 0.4 | Capturing Hope: C-rank Mission
"Maybe if we do it tail first it won't see it coming?" Hisoka shrugged her shoulders, unable to fully recover from seeing this gigantic fish.  Their mission had not only been after a real target, but also a really, really big one!  The Daimyo would be happy, at least, even if he probably would have more red carp meat than he would know what to do with.  Maybe he could schedule a few more weddings to get the most use out of the fish.

She did not know where to put her hands, but she decided that grabbing the tail would be a poor decision.

Re: 0.4 | Capturing Hope: C-rank Mission
Having taken the moment to catch his breath, Rejima slouched, hands on his knees as he panted. "It's-" was about all he got out, before a large tail managed to send him sprawling with a yelp. Sitting up and holding his head with one hand, he groaned. "That is so uncool."

Re: 0.4 | Capturing Hope: C-rank Mission
Not willing to tackle on the fish tail alone, she motioned for Regima to get up and help her try that again. The fish sure was strong but perhaps between two, they could manage or at least tire it enough to handle it the next time.

Re: 0.4 | Capturing Hope: C-rank Mission
Giving Kisara a strange look, he shrugged and got to his feet, frowning at the stinging sensation on his face where the tail had connected. That thing was stronger than it looked! With a sigh and a nod at Kisara, he counted to three on his fingers, before shooting forward, wrapping his arms around the tail of the fish as best he could.

Catching fish for Daimyo's weddings. That was not how he wanted to end up with a bright red mark on his forehead. Hopefully it would go away. Probably.

Hisoka threw herself into the mix, not sure what to grab on to but sure that a pair of weak arms might help to restrain it!

Re: 0.4 | Capturing Hope: C-rank Mission
Honoka jumped up onto the top of the urn and reclaimed her whip, using it up pull the carp up while the genin tried to lift. The poor fish didn't like that much either, squirming unhelpfully and flapping its tail annoyingly close to Rejima's face.

"Come!" Honoka insisted. Throwing her weight backward tipped the balance of the battle. The fish flailed over the rim of the jar and fell inside with a splash.

Honoka flipped and landed on her feet, quickly returning to the urn to look inside.

"It is okay." she sighed.

Re: 0.4 | Capturing Hope: C-rank Mission
With the Fish in the urn (and to her opinion mostly thanks to the Sensei) they could finally take a rest for all that fishing business. "That went well..." Though in her head, she figured that if fishing was so tiring, it certainly wasn't worth doing if given the option to just buy the fish.

Re: 0.4 | Capturing Hope: C-rank Mission
"So...now we just have to take it back." Hisoka frowned for a few seconds, rubbing her arms.  She then jumped up in the air and thrust a fist toward the sky.  "We did it!  We're real ninja now!  All we have to do is to take the fish back, and we'll be able to do real ninja work from now on!"

Even though she staggered a little bit upon the landing, she squealed happily.

Re: 0.4 | Capturing Hope: C-rank Mission
As soon as the fish was in the urn, Rejima sank to a seating position and glared at it. The fish had gotten in a few swipes with it's tail, and since he couldn't do anything to hurt it or otherwise pay it back, he fell back to his standard tactic; sticking his tongue out at the thing and making a face.

"Thanks for the help, Hisoka-chan."
He interlaced his fingers and cradled his head backwards, craning his neck to smile brightly at her. "Pre-tty sure I would have been halfway down the river by now if you didn't stop that thing with the nets." With that, he chuckled.

Re: 0.4 | Capturing Hope: C-rank Mission
"Without your strong arms, Reji-kun, we wouldn't have two nets or the big fish." Hisoka laughed, returning his smile.  "Of course, then again, without Honoka-sensei's urn he'd smell pretty bad by the time we delivered him..."

She imagined the look on the faces of those who had been depending on them would range from quite unamused to very furious.

Re: 0.4 | Capturing Hope: C-rank Mission
Looking down at her wet clothes, Kisara grunted. "Well they better be paying good for this fish, this kind of sucked." With that said, she wondered why some of the men of the area weren't making a killing fishing there, IF those big fishes were so valuable.

Rejima winked, holding his hand up for a high-five to Hisoka. "Real ninja now! That's totally cool!" He laughed again.

"Aw, c'mon, Kisa-chan. 'fraid of a little water?"
Still near the stream, he cupped his hand, leaning back and capturing some of the flowing water in his palm, before slinging it at Kisara playfully. To top it off, the goof stuck his tongue out at her. "Nyeeeeeh."

Hisoka gave him that high five, grinning.  She was still smiling with Reji-kun made his little taunt, good spirited even as she saw another fight ready to begin right near her.  Hopefully, Kisa-chan would not be too too hard on Reji-kun.  She glanced carefully toward Honoka-sensei, wondering what she should do, before looking back toward her friends.

Re: 0.4 | Capturing Hope: C-rank Mission
Now Reji had done it, just when she had started to think of him as a necessary evil and somewhat convenient for getting smacked by things in her stead. Got splashed alright, infuriated along with his questioning and taunting, he water and the following mockery only made her short fuse go. "You stinky..." She growled before immediately lashing forwards trying to pounce him into the water.

"Stinky wha-AAAAAH," Was about all he got out in terms of coherent speech. Relaxed and lazing about, he had little time to react, and in the position he was in there wasn't a lot he could do to avert the situation aside from fall in and attempt to pull Kisara with him. Still, bearing their achievement in mind, he fell into the water with a big grin on his face, laughing at having gotten a rise out of Kisara.

Re: 0.4 | Capturing Hope: C-rank Mission
Their sensei ignored the play-fighting to examine her urn. When she was satisfied she rolled out a fresh scroll and began to prepare the summoning jutsu for the vessel.

"It might not be an exciting mission, but it has been performed successfully. Takinoue-sama will be proud. If all our missions go this well it will not be long before you are completing much more challenging tasks."

Re: 0.4 | Capturing Hope: C-rank Mission
Hisoka's frown slipped off of her face, and she forced a smile. "I'm happy.  We did a real mission and almost nothing went wrong.  Once we get the fish back to the village, we'll get our money and we'll be more trusted..."

Mostly, the redheaded genin was just glad that Rejima and Kisara did not do anything to make her cry.  She really did not need to truly earn the title of the 'crybaby of Squad IV'.  Calm now that she knew that her squadmates were fine, she keenly observed Honoka as she did her work on the scroll to summon the vessel.
