Repair Bay

Mission Nine was not kind to the Eridani, but the truth was, it could have been much worse.  The Pursuit Lance due to some last minute miracles, was able to turn a decisive loss into a favorable draw.  The Mobile Lance like wise manages to turn a messy fight into a favorable draw.  The Strike Lance manages to fare the best, forcing the Dragoons off the field, and taking one of their mechs for salvage.

The Mobile Lance and Pursuit lances were rolling into the bay, and already Scooter was wincing over the repair bills.  It was pretty bad, his only consolation was that withdrawals were obtained from both fights and that the damage was not worse.

Tentative Assessment

Mobile Lance
Hatchetman ~ Okay
Panther ~ Okay
Whitworth ~ SRM 6 Damaged (Do you want to bother repairing it?)
Blackjack ~ Arm Actuator damaged

Pursuit Lance
Clint ~ Missing Leg
Firestarter ~ Missing Leg
Cicada ~ Okay ~ ?
Wolfhound ~ Okay ~ ?

Strike Lance ~ Pending / Still in the field.

Mobile Lance
"Let's see... the Mobile Lance... Yeah that Hatchetman and Panther look like they hasnt even been in a fight...", Scooter waves the big mechs through and clears them for sentry duty.

They were pretty pristine and would just need some light work, or so Scooter thought.  One of the techs has a discussion with Scooter about Amos' panther.  The Hoff Double Strength heat sinks were acting up again.  The coolant while super effective was also super corrosive and were starting to eat away at stuff that shouldnt be eaten away.  It was time to do something about that...

Scooter isnt overly surprised to see the damage on Devlin's Mech.  "You know you keep piloing this thing as hard as you do, and one of these days youre going to roll snake eyes and not come back boss..."  He starts tallying down the damage the mech has taken, the worst of which seemed to be the total fraging of the mechs SRM system.  The electrical systems looked worse than it actually was. A circuit breaker had tripped to keep serious damage from being inflicted.
(36af + 8 internals + SRM 6, The Armor, Internals, and Ammo are covered by repair pool.
Devlin, SRM is a Base 8+ Roll, with the Application of your Corporal rank to pull some strings you need a 7+ to have it in stock, and will cost 80,000cb to get back on line
)

Scooter looks over the damage on Thanos' blackjack and is sure some major scrounging was going to be needed, but it looked alot worse than first impressions suggested.  Certainly a few more bouts with the Dragoons and it would have been a whole new story.
(68af +4 Internals + UA Actuator, The Armor and Internals are covered by Repair pool.
Thanos, Actuator is a Base 6+ roll to have in stock and will cost 6525 if in stock
)

"Amos... buddy... I know you mech jocks are attached to the high tech toys the think tank over at hoff grind out to test, but this stuff is murder.  We need to move them out and away from the Engine now, otherwise that gunk they call coolant might start leaking into the engine shielding.  IF that happens, trust me... you'll wish we'd moved it.  We can put them together snug as a bug in... your right torso... they'll be closer to your PPC to vent all that heat it generates.  Good?  It's that or... mmm.. risk... complications'"
Amos needs to move the Hoff heat sinks out of the Engine Block or risk complications.
Pursuit Lance
"Wowsers...  The Dragoons run over your mechs with a Dropship and then back up over them...???", Scooter grimaces as two of the mechs are bought in on their backs on big flatbed trucks.  The Clint and the Firestarter were going to need some serious maintenance.  The Wolfhound manages to limp in on it's own power but was an equal mess.

"Hey... wheres the Cicada?  We loose it to the Wolves?", he's notified that the Cicada was still in the field fighting, "Great.  Just what we need mech warriors in working mechs still running around trying to run them into the ground for us to fix.  That's job security boys."

Scooter cringes at the thought of looking at the mechs that were flat on their backs and starts with the one that looked... okay... sorta.

Oliver's Wolf hound took no internal or critical damage.  Only armor was needed to get the mech back into fighting form.  32af later and he's ready to go back into the field. (Repairs covered by Supply Pool)

Svend gets VERY lucky, as Scooter is tallying up the damage to his mech and starts to evaluate the damage done to the leg, the salvage crews come back with bits and pieces of the missing leg.  To most, it looks mangled and useless, but by some miracle of fate, the hip actuator is still useable.
(Repairs to Armor and Internals covered by Supply Pool)
Svend needs to roll for parts
Upper leg actuator available on 6+ will cost 5250 if available
Lower leg actuator available on 6+ will cost 2800 if available
Foot actuator available on 5+, will cost 4200 if available
Heat Sink available on 7+, will cost 2000cb if available
)

Scooter gets to Adam's mech, and it's a good thing Adam isnt there to see his expression because it's not pretty.  "Let's get to work boys..."
(Repairs to Armor is covered by the Supply pool and 8 points of internal is covered by the repair pool, after that the news is less good.)
(Adam needs to roll for part... {Availability rolls already includes +1 for rank}
5 points of Internals ~ 6+available, cost 10,000cb
5 points of Internals ~ 6+available, cost 10,000cb
Engine Shield ~ 7+ available, cost 100,000cb
Hip actuator available on 6+ will cost 9200 if available
Upper leg actuator available on 5+ will cost 6000 if available
Lower leg actuator available on 5+ will cost 3200 if available
Foot actuator available on 4+, will cost 4800 if available)

*** Damage assessment for Camille's Cicada pending Bravo Mission resolution ***
Strike Lance
"Where's Blue Blood?", Scooter looks around wondering if the wolves ate a whole lance of mechs.

"Oh... running around with Camille.  Of course, they're all bad influences on each other getting in trouble till everythings broke.?",

*** Damage assessment for Johan, Caitlin, and Halo's mechs are pending Bravos Mission resolution ***

In reply to Cprl. Devlin Masters (msg #2):

19:29, Today: MW Thanos Starguard rolled 8 using 2d6. Arm Actuator in Stock TN6.

See, now that skill I took that gets me more armor between missions is REALLY helping :-)

Thanos helps Scooter find the actuator in stores, having pretty much memorized where replacement parts for his mech were located.

"Well at least I didn't loose the entire arm or the laser my fine fingered friend. That would have been very bad."

Re: Repair Bay

"Scooter, those double heat sinks are working great! Amos listened to the news from Scooter. His idea was good, "Let's put one in the left torso and the other in the right torso. Don't know why we put both near the engines in the first place, but I guess those guys in the development lab forgot to tell us."

Amos smiled at Scooter, "Thanks for all your hard work. The targeting computer is working great too. Did you know I hit the head of the Wolf Dragoon Dervish in the last battle? It turned tail and left the field. Good thing too, or we might have sustained more damage."

Re: Repair Bay

Scooter gives Amos a clap on the shoulder.  He was the sort of mechwarrior Scooter could like.  Bought his mech back intact, and giving credit for good work instead of blaming their crappy skills on bad maintenance.

(He gives Amos a thumbs up)

"You got it kid.  We'll see what the boys can do about keeping them around a little longer"

Re: Repair Bay

Scooter looks over the CASE that Devlin requests installed on his mech.  He nods and comments that it'd probably improve his life expectancy and goes to work installing it.

(You had half a ton unused from installing half a ton of armor, so i will presume that CASE uses the other half of that customization weight)

Scooter looks over the second VAMS that Svend is asking to install.  He doesnt argue as the eager look Svend has for it's installation doesnt leave much room for discussion on it's usefulness.  The man was a little off cener in Scooter's opinion, but then again most of the unit's mechwarriors were in one form or another.

Re: Repair Bay

Laying in bed letting himself be babied by the medics Adam went over the report that he had filtched from Scooters repair team.

Significant internal structure was damaged but he knew of two seperate piles that were under tarps that have been overlooked when they first reclaimed the base.  The hip actuator along with the upper, lower and foot would be another matter.  Lucky for him he had spoken to someone from the 2nd, Waynekowski, in the quartermaster corp the night that Nate was getting promoted.  He'd call her up on the secure link he had on his long range comm kit and ask her really nicely if they could pass along that Drac Clint's leg assembly that Lt. Rogers had kicked clean off and then used as a club on the other Drac mechs.  Rogers was ballzy to try and do that one and he liked the man.  He knew it was going to mean owing some favors to both Rogers and Waynekowski but they knew he was good for them.

The engine shielding didn't concern him too much.  His model was a heat light to begin with so when he tallied up the supplies he wasn't too worried about not being able to find it at the moment.  Important for sure but absolutely necessary no.  On the plus side he did note that there were 12 volleys of precision ammo left in his ammo bin.  Those would come in useful...perhaps he was going to have to talk to Scooter about half and halfing his ammo bin.  At last count in his head they could squeeze probably 20 standard rounds and about 10 precision.

He was going to have to make those calls though so he couldn't stay in bed all day and he had to arrange to give Scooter some more of his favorite vice after securing all the parts he'd need for his Clint...

Svend grimaced as his looked over his Lucky Lady. She was beat to hell and the boys couldn't seem to find what she need to fix her leg right. He knew it was only a matter of time before she had her luck run a bit dry, but considering what she went through, a missing part was almost a blessing. He tried to help where he could, but it seemed that he was more in the way than helping.

Re: Repair Bay

After the briefing was completed, Johan headed over to the repair bay like so many others.  A lot of work was still happening to reassemble the casualties of the last battle.  The group had been extremely lucky to be able to salvage what they could...and the new down time meant that many pilots were reconsidering their options.

Johan was no different.  He located Scooter and informed of the new configuration for his valkyrie.  "Scooter, I've reorganized the unit a bit and won't be able to keep up with the rest of the unit with only my medium lasers.  I would like you to remove two of those from the torso, along with three heat sinks and put in place a large laser.  It shouldn't be too tough given the mech's original design specs with a LRM10 rack in that same position.  Let me know when you're done."
