They make their way into the modern nights with a singular goal: to retake what was once theirs.
Any takers?
Here's a few more details...
- I'm gonna call the game semi-sandbox. Retaking the city will be the primary story. That should be the utmost goal of every character. How that is accomplished is entirely dependent on the characters. There will be plenty of opportunity to explore the city and learn its secrets or to take action and change it permanently.
- The character's were a powerful coterie in the 1800's and early 1900's. They controlled Chicago (indeed, they have likely been involved, behind the scenes, since the city's inception).
- The coterie has just awoken from a long torpor, they will have lost much of their powers and all of their influence. Still, they'll have a bit of a boost to start them on their journey, and won't be pathetic neonates (though, they may get treated that way in the beginning because no one knows who they are).
- The modern nights will be a hostile environment. Bad things will happen to your character. You will not like modern Chicago. My hope is that you can roll with the punches and that this will drive your character to overcome these trials.
- It'll be Vampire: the Requiem, New World of Darkness (not Chronicles). While I don't have anything against Masquerade or V20 or CoD, I'm not as familiar with them. I will be using some information from WoD: Chicago, but not everything.
- I want to have a pretty brisk post rate. I want players who will commit to the game, to be invested in it. I'm honestly (perhaps naively optimistically) looking for posts every 24-48 hours. I'm thinking of removing players who regularly fall behind.
- It'll be Adult.
I posted all that because I've seen players leave games over details like these, and I'd like everyone to know what they're getting into before we get too far into character creation and players start disappearing.
At the same time, however, everything is negotiable. If no one wants to commit to that post rate, we can relax it a bit. If playing a powerful vampire is worrisome and everyone wants to be neonates, we can make that work. Et cetera.
I think the concept is awesome and hope to find some like-minded people to explore it with.

Could be interesting. Gives a chance to start out some of those more fun bloodlines...

One key point to remember is that while you're going to be more powerful than a neonate, you're still going to be new to modern Chicago - you'll still have to work your way up the food chain. You'll just do it faster than the competition.

I’m almost afraid to ask but is this some weird way of saying “First Edition Requiem?”

Cause I am familiar with Masquerade and Chronicles, as well, I just prefer Requiem.
