Lord of the Rings - Third Age
Greetings everyone, I have a idea of a game settled in the Third age in LOTR where the players are the council of a new founded city at the border of Gondor.

My main idea is a more strategic game rather then adventure or alike, but as I have never really a strategic game through either RPoL or other sites I have some trouble coming up with how it all works.

I have a rough idea of a "game map" where the players can send scouts to find resources, build watchtowers and alike.

Thoughts or ideas?

Kind of like LotR Diplomacy? That could be really cool. Color me definitely interested!

Do you have the ground rules for that game? Perhaps those could be used as a base?

Any ideas on how a 'round' could be structured?

I would say maybe give a certain amount of time to send in a set of orders, maybe 1-2 weeks

Thanks, this will give some much needed help. I will adjust some things right off the bat.

Perhaps not 1-2 weeks but rather a month? My original plan was that all action took different times to complete.

For example, you send out scouts to find what is around you. One week later they return saying a gold mine have been found. And a month later your barracks is done and so on.

That sounds perhaps to 'easy' if one follows the 'Diplomacy' rule set...

I presume you mean the two phases per year?

Another problem I'm finding is should all players have their own cities or should they all be part of a council for one city?
