It seemed like a simple assignment for a group of hardy adventurers. Escort the princess and her handmaidens from one kingdom to another to meet her new groom. Unfortunately an encounter along the route with a mysterious magician and his henchmen resulted in a magical mishap. Oh no one died but somehow the guards and the princess and her handmaidens ended up swapping bodies.

Now you have a serious problem. Actually several serious problems. Someone powerful is out to stop this royal marriage. The princess and her handmaidens (now in your old bodies) are no good in a fight and you'll have to learn how to fight in ballgowns and heels if this expedition is going to survive. What about the prince and the deadline for the wedding - and will any of you get back into your own bodies again when this is done?"

Just an idea I've sort of been playing around with based on old comedy bodyswap/genderswap films and anime - Some Like It Hot, Freaky Friday and so on only in traditional fantasy adventure type setting. Definitely leaning light hearted but still with swordplay, mistaken (and assumed) identities, high stakes, wit, magic and some light romance (but only up to Mature level at most - this is not that type of game.)

Anyway a lot of elements are decided including the system and setting so this is more to see if there is any interest at all in this admittely oddball idea.

I'm leaning towards D&D (or a derivative) simply for simplicities sake but I could consider other options (I'm tempted by the idea of playing up a martial arts angle simply because I like the concept of a kung fu style princess and her handmaidens.)

I like this idea! It's very different, certainly. Consider me interested.

Any particular edition of D&D you're looking at (or Pathfinder)?
