However, I really liked the setup for your other game before it went into stasis during the health hiatus.

It could be interesting if this new game started with the characters getting their powers, and moved into the formation of the top-five superteam...

Another interesting question is setting.  Any hope of a non-contemporary setting (whether past or future)?

Of course, you could cannibalize generous portions of your other game's world.  That game had a very strong start, and your ideas there are worthy of seeing the light of day again.  :)

I want to use the same world. Probably 75-100 years in the future.

Re: Superheroes?

potentially interested, though mostly if M&M is being used, prefer it over icons.

Re: Superheroes?

I'm interested in a Superhero game, but not one set in the 22nd Century. I usually favor Retro, Contemporary, or Distant Future for game times. MnM3 is cool!

I'm in if you running M&M as I'm more familiar with it. I also prefer modern era. But its not a killing point.

Re: Superheroes?

<--- Champions / HERO System all the way, baby.

I'd jump into a Champs game in a heartbeat.

As that is about as likely as finding a Unicorn, well, carry on.  :D

I would LOVE to play in a four color M&M3e game! I tried starting one but it never got off the ground.

In all honesty I love Champions, but the last time I played it was 2005, back in 5th Edition. Aftert my old game group dissolved I just couldn't find players. I switched to M&M because its a pretty decent alternative AND I could get people to play it.

I have the current Hero System 6th Edition books, but just don't hve the time required to dive in and learn the system to the point where I would be comfortable running a game again.

I'd PLAY Champions....I would never EVER again GM it. Holy Moly NPC gemeration! Probably why those Enemies books were so popular.

Re: Superheroes?

I love Champions. I love figuring out how to build a character. How to tweak it and bring it down to the point limit. I love making NPCs.

But damn, I hate running it with players who don't know the system. It can get slow. And while I love the Speed mechanic for a table game, I'm not sure it works well in a message board game.

For me Mutants and Masterminds is a good game. And it has players!

Re: Superheroes?

Eh, with HERO Designer and a decent collection of stuff previously built, I can do most any NPC in about 20 minutes tops.

Usually, I just guesstimate for generic NPC's.  OCV, DCV, Defenses, BODY/STUN, a couple attack / power options.  Henchmen and grunts are out of the fight after any decent hit to them, etc.

Don't get me wrong, HERO is nothing if not complicated.  I just have learned my own shortcuts, and love the balance of it.  Love that I can set my own 'dramatic reality' so far as damage options and such.

Running two HERO 6E games here, technically 3 but the 3rd never got off the ground, and then playing in another.

Re: Superheroes?

Also the SPD/DEX bit does not slow down games here, but many other aspects of HERO do in fact slow down games here :D

Especially with players new to the system.

Took us about 2 months to do the biggest fight thus far; but that was 5 players and 4-5 friendly NPC's against some 30 hostile NPC's.

But part of that, too, was me having limited posting time for a bit of that fight.

Re: Superheroes?

I'm very keen if it was M&M.

Hero games is at the bottom of my list of rules, below world of darkness and rifts... mostly because of what JTCbrown said actually. The rules are too heavyweight for me: they get in the way of RP

Sounds interesting, I might RTJ, I am much better at MnM 2e than 3e. I don't know Icons at all.
