Eclipse Phase

I have recently found this game system and I am in love with it.  I would like to run a game of it here to get used to the rules before trying to run it for my table top group.  I would be starting with pre-written scenarios (at least partially modified) and then move into my own scenarios.

Eclipse Phase

I absolutely adore Eclipse Phase and would gladly jump into anything involving it.

I warn you, for the home group, though, that Eclipse Phase takes a lot more pre-reading than your average RPG.  It can be really hard to wrap your head around some of the concepts.  In general, I'll warn you that the pre-written scenarios are quite dense.  There tend to be a lot of moving parts, and some of them might not be obvious when you first start messing with them.

I have really wanted to give this game a try for awhile now.

Eclipse Phase

I have been reading and rereading the book for about 2 weeks now.  I feel I have a comfortable grasp on the main rules set but I learn better by doing than by reading.

Eclipse Phase

Rules aren't really the hump for EP, I think.  The setting is bananas.

Eclipse Phase

I'd be interested. My tabletop group tried it out, but the GM got frustrated that the other players were a little too selfish/mistrusting to serve as Firewatch agents (they are big Shadowrun fans and backstabbers). I only got to save the world once with my uplifted octopus... :'-(

Sounds to me like they are horrible shadowrun players then...:)  In a a game based on karma being a backstabber isn't exactly the best way to get xp...lol.

The main reason I started looking at Eclipse Phase btw was because I could play an Octopus.

Three people seems to be enough for me, I will toss up a game in the players wanted section.  It will probably be slow posting to start though.

It's really the best reason to play the game. Awesome, I'll keep an eye out for the game and start relearning the rules and equipment (yogurt, bananas, and all)...

Re: Eclipse Phase

I would be up for this.  I've loved the idea of EP for years but never actually gotten the chance to play.

Re: Eclipse Phase

This actually sounds pretty rad. It's a game I keep forgetting about, but everytime I see it, it looks really awesome.

Don't be silly. The best reason is to play a parrot. Preferably a cybernetically enhanced parrot. Bonus points if it's a parrot pirate. Or an ex-buccaneer turned dainty Belgian investigator so you could play a parrot pirate Poirot.

In reply to spectre (msg # 11):

Agreed. I've seen game start up previously, but not understanding the system inside out, and not having a firm grasp of setting details, I've never been quite as fast or confident to rtj.

Re: Eclipse Phase

I love the setting and the system, but of the two the setting is the steeper learning curve. Transhumanism is serious stuff, though a lot of recent films have explored along those themes. I think the latest is Morgan?

Well here is a link to the game.  Since I am a new GM I don't mind if you don't know the rules.
