Been hankerin' to play some old school Weird West, but an odd setting. So I settled more or less Back East. Finding someone to fill the spot of a Deadlands GM seems to be daunting here. So instead I will run it. The plan is to be from Back East either North or South it doesn't matter terribly much to me. Always been partial to the Union myself. Anyway the game starts out either in Chicago for the North or New Orleans for the South. I know not way back East. Notice I said start. The end game would be a modified Devil's Tower.

So who is up for it?

Would this be Deadlands classic or Deadlands Reloaded?

Oh, I would definitely be interested.  I looked at the reloaded stuff a bit ago and I didn't like it.  Would we be playing back east or just from the east?

I'd be interested. I've a habit of playing 'Back East' characters out West, so it would be interesting to play one closer to home.

Reloaded is Deadlands reworked for the generic (and simpler) Savage Worlds rules. This loses some of the atmosphere, but does avoid the problem I ran into when I GM'd Deadlands: thanks to my 'interesting' gaming group, the PCs managed to (accidentally) pretty much max every skill between them :)

Deadlands Classic, you say?  Deal me in!  It's been ages, and while I don't mind SW in general, I like the classic rules for their more...deadlands-y feel.

Maxing everything doesn't help you in most of my games. Playing smart does.

As for the place of the game. It will be Back East for the majority of the game. At some point not sure when exactly you will have to go out West.

I'd be bang up for this. I love the classical edition! Savage Worlds is good, but the classical was more thematic and IMAO better.

Ok so yeah it looks like enough might just be interested. Fair warning though I will likely keep applications open until after the first of the year and really get a good pace set after that. I just know how these last couple of weeks affect gaming around here. As soon as I get the basic game set up I will be posting a thread link here and advertising in Players Wanted.
