IC: Paizo season 6 in a custom setting with mods

So a while back I got the season 6 scenarios from paizo as a gift.

Now I've never run modules before but I've been thinking of not lettinh them go to waste. Being the spontaneous gm I am, I can easily fit these into my own setting.

I would like to, for each scenario, try a small change to the basic stuff to test out various concepts. At the end of each scenerio, players can vote to keep or undo the change, and vote on which change to try for the next scenerio.

Of coure, spells will be removed, or changed to different spell levels in any case, to better fit the setting. For example, there is no such thing as resurrections.

Example houserules to test, health as fort save vs damage to avoid gaining various injuries, skillful magic, mana based magic, weapons having dmg and penetration (so there isn't always a single best option), damage types having secondary effects, etc.

Also will consider suggestions from players.

The setting this will be in has lots of low level magic (nearly everyone can do a little magic), and there is some technology built on magic (telegraph offices, bicycles, etc). Many details are shifted, for example, horses are extremely rare, but because magic makes advanced metallurgy easier, bicycles and tricycles are often used for transport, while teams of dogs or similar are used in the place of work horses. Bamboo is the most common construction material. The sun never sets, merely growing brighter then dimmer.

CAUTION,
I am a more reactive gm. This isn't much a problem in face to face, but I noticed pbp is a bit more difficult. Players that expect me to push them forward will be disappointed. Proactive players that push forward will have the best time.

I prefer a larger group, as I find they don't die as fast.

I'll be starting after new years, if I get interest.

I hope more interest shows up after Christmas is over.

Of course we could go solo, but I've never actually been part of a solo game, on either side of the gm screen.

P.S. Merry Christmas!

Were you thinking of starting characters at level 1?

I figure on letting players vote for the specific level, but I plan on levels being on the lower end. The setting is more gritty than higher level play tends to be.

That said, each scenerio has a range of appropriate levels that will be taken into account.

I'm very interested, especially as I am involved with PFS and I love their content.

Is this an online version of PFS or simply a regular PBP that uses Paizo content?

Well, I'm putting the scenerios in a homebrew setting that is decidedly not Golarion, and indeed flips a lot of expectations about minor details (such as horses being rare, the sun never sets, orcs [orculari, "people of hell"] are altered dwarves [fynuri dwarda, or "dwarves much like the Fyn," the Fyn being a dangerous magical forest]).

There is also the fact that during each scenerio, a tweak will be made to the rules (with player input), then after that scenerio, players vote to keep or discard the tweak.

The storylines will remain basically the same, but adjusted to fit the setting, and possibly as required according to how I handle players running away from the story (I won't drag you kicking and screaming through a predetermined story path, though the in-world authorities might try }:D ).

Alright, I have a set time for starting this, I'm creating the game now for people to apply to and start ooc chat, but I'll build the game's infrastructure (setting info, voting thread, build rules, etc) this weekend to get the ball rolling on creating characters, with gameplay starting when everyone is ready.

I'll still be present to answer questions and such throughout the week.
