If you are aware of the webcomic Schlock Mercenary, then you may be aware that the Author has successfully Kickstarted a RPG based on his comic.  As a backer, I have been supplied with the pre-release rulseset.

To describe the setting, You play a members of a mercenary company in a future setting. Specifically, you are in charge of a squad of grunts.  Action and Hilarity ensue.

Would anyone be interested in playing this?

Mercenary is a word that catches my eye, but is the system inherently slapstick, where the humour is written into the system? Or is there merely the potential for comedy?

The system includes a die rule that brings Mayhem Cards into effect. These cards often have humorous effects.

The Schlock Mercenary webcomic [ http://www.schlockmercenary.com ] is a comedy… but the humor can get pretty darn black at times, as exemplified by the Seventy Maxims of Maximally Effective Mercenaries [ http://ovalkwiki.com/The+Seven...ffective+Mercenaries ]. So if the Planet Mercenary rolegame is indeed inherently comedic, that just means it does a good job of emulating the webcomic's 'atmosphere'.

Once I get it up and running, I'll spend time teaching the system.
