Final Fantasy: "Why is my bar on fire?"

In the world of Ivalice, there has always been people that make their living doing odd jobs and, more importantly, fighting monsters. These people are known by many names: murder hobos, mercenaries, assassins, "Hey, you!". There is one name,, however, that rings out over all the rest: Adventurers.

The worst Adventurers find themselves regarded as nothing more than thieves and bandits. The best Adventurers, however, are seen as celebrities and heroes. Indeed, many generals, sages, and politicians got their start by adventuring. The call to adventure brings many to travel the world.

Not everyone willingly becomes an Adventurer. For some it takes a stolen love, an awe inspiring quest that only they can complete, or an ancient prophecy.

For others, it's the fact their bar burned down and they need a LOT of money to replace it.

Welcome to the world of Ivalice, where one such bar has been burned down and a band of down-on-their-luckers must become a fighting force to rival the gods all so they can pay their various debts!

Assuming you got this far, welcome to a little idea I got while I was looking at the Final Fantasy RPG 3rd Edition PDF. It's an interesting little system, and (most importantly) it is a completely free system due to it being a fan project. It can be found here: http://www.ffrpg.net/ffrpg/

This is a not entirely serious game concept. On the scale of Black Trench Coat to Pink Mohawk, this is a Hawaiian Shirt.

I'm probably down. Depends on concept. I've had a concept in my mind for a while that I've wanted to play in FF3e for a while. Think it's against the rules to explicitly spell it out here, but if you're interested, you might PM me.

If this is an interest check, count me as interested. Like a lot, and probably more.

In other news, given the existence of certain items in certain ff games, I think I saw what you did there.

Re: Final Fantasy: "Why is my bar on fire?"

I'm in if I can wear the Hawaiian shirt.

I'd love to tag along as an Adventurer simply because I'm bored. Basically the same attitude as Saitama.

Re: Final Fantasy: "Why is my bar on fire?"

Considering the fact that this was just a "Let's have a little fun with a campaign idea, and let's post it because it's late" post, I'm pretty surprised at the turn out. I'll be creating this game once I get a few adventure ideas (and maybe a generic arc or two) down, so check your rMail or this thread for a link.

Just to give a bit of a fun starter on relationships/backstory, the game does indeed start with a bar that had been set on fire. A) Who owned the bar and B) who set the bar on fire?

We have a candidate for an accidental arson, but there's not so say that another person couldn't have helped it along~

And yes, you can wear the Hawaiian Shirt.

Four prospective players! It's shaping up to be an actual guild. Tomorrow morning, I'll be putting up the game, so that'll be a good time to talk backstory.

Oh the sweet horrors that you will see, and the bitter comedies that may or may not happen. It's a toss up on which is which!
