Writing to see who would be interested in playing an RPG based on the Transformers.  Autobots and Decepticons locked in battle on the planet earth.  We would be using the Mutants and Masterminds third edition game system.

At first, the entire team would be Autobots.  Later on, there would be a secondary party of Decepticons.  At first, there would be no Dinobots or other weird stuff. That type of creature would open up later.  You would be allowed to switch between different characters as the situation warrants.

Same here. That sounds fun. Just some quick questions:

Would we be in the G1 timeline or an original generation? Would we be creating our own bots or would we take up the roles of particular characters?

I'm not a superfan, so I don't know a lot of the different variations. I've played "War for Cybertron" and "Fall of Cybertron," which I believe are close to the "Aligned" continuity. I believe this dovetails nicely into the G1 setting.

The game would be set just after the awakening of Transformers on Earth.

You would be welcome to create new 'bots or take the roles of existing 'bots. The only exception is Optimus Prime, who is going to be sitting on his Primely haunches in base most of the time.

I have actually been idly poking away at a Torchbearer/Burning Wheel conversion for Transformers...

I found a homebrew Transformers RPG a while back. It's a bit heavy on the numbers, but looks like it's trying to hold to things established in the original cartoon (and movie).
