You will not have any lack of interest for either of those I think. Though starting at first level might put some people off.

It depends on type of evil; and system. I might be interested in 5th edition, even at first level - but not really interested if the aim is to pit the players against each other as to
'who rises to the top' as it were. So a more LE type of game could intrigue me.

I'd play a game of rogues that attempt to start a thieves guild, cult, or an assassin's guild, something not legal and definitely not what regular people do but if everyone is out to be the Big Bad then it would be a lot of backstabbing and cut throat tactics. Games like that don't tend to last.

It would probably be evil of any alignment, maybe no CE, but regardless I would give the players a reason to trust each other and work together. It wouldn't start with a bunch of strangers meeting in a tavern, the players would already know each other

That was my next question. Is it a group of thieves or just general evil people?

I have a pretty well-developed fantasy world I typically run games in, but it would probably be more of a sandbox-style

I feel like a tight knit group of evil adventurers would be nice.  Well as tight knit as they could get.  That way despite the difference in alignments, ce/le mainly, they'd still work together in the end rather than stabbing the other in the back.  Where evil reigns above all else, despite even a difference in goals, there is something that keeps them together.

So something similar to the Dark Brother of Elder Scrolls. They consider themselves family and most wouldn't dare hurt a family member. It's them vs the world and they delight in the murder of outsiders along with general mayhem.

Yeah exactly.  That way it doesn't take away from the interplay between the characters and how they make them.  Really allows it for some diversity.  Along with getting the paranoia of being player killed out the window (unless of course you talk and agree about it).  While player conflict can be fun, I find it also leads to the most bitter feelings unless agreed upon

I'm really eager to play DnD 5th. I love the idea of an evil campaign but haven't had the opportunity. I usually imagine something inspired by Dungeon Keeper- the PCs being the monsters or minions that dwell in a particular dungeon, interacting with an evil Underdark economy and fending off surface dweller invasions, maybe playing politics to reach positions of greater influence and power within their specific "dungeon" network of sapient creatures.

But the Dark Brotherhood quests are also the best memories I have of any of the Elder Scrolls games, so...

I'd definitely would like to do D&D 3.5e, I'd be willing to play anything really, but I'd have to learn the system because I only know  AD&D, D&D2e, and D&D 3.5e

Would prefer 5ed and a party set on a common goal or helping each other fulfil their schemes.

Pathfinder - aka 3.75 - is superior. I state this after playing both 3.5 and Pathfinder quite extensively. Pathfinder fixes quite a few little 'irks' of 3.5 in terms of play-ability and smoothes out definitions, though it does so at the cost of some very esoteric classes/combos available to evil characters.

Google 'muscle wizard' for an example of what I mean.

Okay so there's some definite interest, it just seems like people aren't sure about which system. I have the most experience running pathfinder, so we'll go with that! Assuming no one else has any questions, I'll start putting the game together

I would be willing to play any game system, if we are planning to make it a game that has a sort of comedic edge. Not a pure comedy game necessarily, but I don't like evil games that are too serious because they get dark really fast.

I'm fine with any system but I would prefer ones that were less crunchy than DnD or Pathfinder. That being said, I'm still game no matter the system.

School acted up and made me do more work that expected (and finals are fast approaching), but I've begun to put the game together. Expect a game to be up sometime later this week. I'll probably be accepting 4-6 players, you'll be the newest recruits of a street gang. Expect the game to be mostly player-driven: I'm here to facilitate the stories you want to tell
