Magical time travel game, possibly using MtA 2nd edition

I wondered if time travel games were appealing to players.  Thought about using mage the Awakening 2nd edition, maybe make the time effects caused by an exarch or other unknowable powerful cause, and the players have to deal with being tossed through time.  I like history and the idea of players having to cope with many different time periods intrigued me.

It can work, and, doing it with mage would make it way more bearable than the last form of such things I tried. I'm not sure if I'm game for this, but I'm at least interested in seeing more about what you have in mind.

This reminds me of a youtube video where a bunch of geologist post-docs used magma to barbecue.  You know that there is a very narrow window of getting a good result, and missing that window is very, very burning.

Please let me know when this game starts :)

I guess my idea would be somewhat similar to the old show sliders or the old movie Time Bandits, with the group being half forced from time to time, trying to find a way home or to find who is responsible.  I am not sure how much more of my idea I could explain without ruining some of the surprise of the story.  But I'd welcome any ideas, suggestions, or criticism.

are you more interested in players generally being awesome, or gritty difficulties? IE, my past experience with uncontrolled time travel games feature a group of researchers effectively taken captive . I imagine mage will allow for more flexibility and freedom, but yeah. ^^; I haven't done mage in forever...

the players would be capable enough that they wouldn't exactly be struggling to survive in  given time.  More struggling to fit in and find out how to solve the situation without drawing too much attention to themselves.  so probably on the less gritty scale.
