Force and Destiny with an X-Men twist

I was able to sit down and watch the new series The Gifted.  For some reason my mind turned toward Force Sensitives during the time of Darth Vader and the Emperor.  Thinking about them being on the run, fleeing droids designed to ensare and trap them and seeking out mentors.  Just wondering if this is a sort of "duh" thought or if there is some potential behind this flavor of game.

There is always potential for a Force and Destiny game of any flavor.  Unless you plan to restrict the game to only low powered Gifted I would however recommend not playing at the basic level as that is quite restrictive to Force users.

I had a mind to include a pool of points just for purchasing Force Powers so that it would fall more under that X-Men feel.

Going to have to do a little research on Coruscant.  Think that's lend well to the Gifted feel.

What system? I tried with Mutants and Masterminds and found I could create a Padawan learner pretty well.

I'd need the original poster to confirm, but I was under the impression using Force and Destiny system for Star wars by Fantasy Flight.

Force and Destiny by Fantasy Flight would be the system for this game.  A few ideas I had regarding starting character creation would be for 20xp  given to each character for Force Powers only.  Also wanted to know people's opinions on a Homestead being the party resource.  I figured Homestead because often times in the X-Men shows and movies there is a central "base" of some kind that the group gravitates toward.  Unsure of this one though.

In reply to KraznyOctobr (msg # 14):

Maybe not Homsteads, as the Characters would be on the run, but perhaps something more like bolt holes or safe houses they could use if the going gets rough.

Or just go for a mobile base and make the 'homestead' a ship. (depending if you wanted to focus on a particular planet or not though you could just always bop the ship from spaceport to spaceport)

Also the homesteads in X-men usually are boltholes/safehouses for the same reason of being hunted and on the run (yes Xavier's name is on the school building, but you can only read it if he lets you, or at least that's how it was when he only had 5 students) The X-mansion is the most public of the x-team bases as well, a lot of them are underground bunkers and similar type things

I'd be interested in this too.

And perhaps instead of just a blanket 20 xp, you could instead do, one basic Force power and two legal upgrades? I think that would better represent a savant sorta character, that they can do one thing sorta well. Only hiccup would be reliable activation, at low Force rating it can be hard to consistently get the force points needed without burning dark side points all the time.

I do like this idea.  Slowly building up the board for the game and should have things ready to consider recruitment soon for the story.
