IC: Lamentations of the Flame Princess (fantasy/horror OSR)
Lamentations of the Flame Princess (LotFP) is a roleplaying game from the Old School Revival wave (a streamlined re-imagining of the early editions of D&D), geared towards horrific and weird fantasy adventures in the vein of Lovecraft, Clark Ashton Smith, Clive Barker and so on.

I'd like to run a short game set in a pseudo-historical 17th century Europe, during the Thirty Years War. You'd play as mercenaries, deserters, misfits and social outcasts, who roam the war-torn land in search of riches. The game would have bleak, grim atmosphere, with mature themes (but not adult).

The system is easy to learn, and the book is available for free (http://www.drivethrurpg.com/pr...--Magic-Free-Version).

Anybody interested?

Very much interested! I've never actually played a game of LotFP, but I hope that's not a problem because the themes and setting you describe are favourites of mine.

Cool!

Previous experience with the system is not required, so you're good!

I will set up the forum and all things necessary. This might take a day or two. I will put up a game ad when ready, and inform you all as well!

Yes!

After I set up the game forum, I think I will write to the first 4-5 people who expressed interest here (that includes you), and then if somebody changes their mind or is busy, I will advertise for more in the "wanted - players" forum.

This is so annoying. I love HPL. I was in a masks game that died and I'd love to play in this one. Just not sure I have the time cos Im running 3 games, co gming 1 and comitted myself to three more. Im also discussing a star wars game that Im definately not gonna drop because its an idea Ive been wanting to play for some time.

Im gonna have a think and see if I can fit this one in somehow!

The game is ready to go, and I sent out private messages to the first five users who expressed interest here (AnotherAndy, Cloudy, howareyou, lady_politic, Starchaser).

Aslanii76, you are in the waiting list. If somebody from the first five withdraws, I'm going to inform you about the opening!
