I stumbled upon this exceptional game a few days ago: Cryptomancer, and I was checking if there's interest in playing it.

I'm completely hooked.

I don't have the game, but read through the website's description, and it sounds intriguing.

The tag line instantly grabbed me, if only because one of my life goals is to become a certified Ethical Hacker.

Well, if I gather enough interest, I plan to start a game here.

I have to warn you, though, the game revolves around an "irreversible death spiral" concept, that many may not find agreeable.

An Irreversible death spiral? Mind explaining what that entails a little more? Unless it involves spoilers for the game itself of course.

I'll try to explain without spoiling the game, but I can say that, by their own admission, the game designers chose to make Cryptomancer like that.

The party, during the game, accumulates Risk with bad choices and, in some instances, bad rolls. There is no way to decrease Risk and, as the game proceeds, it makes things more difficult until it escalates in an "all hope is lost" situation for the characters.

I can tell you that it makes perfect sense with the setting, and, even though a little nihilistic, gives the game the right mood.

I'd be interested in giving it a try.
