Black Crusade Apocrypha: Deed, Not Word
"There are those who believe the Gods of Chaos show their favor by their growth, passively worshiping their chosen God as if the Gods cared about their skill with rifles or their silver tongue. These fools don't realize the Gods are taking pity on their idiocy.

The ones who choose to serve the Dark Gods through Deed, not Word are the true Champions of Chaos. They are the ones who will bring the Corpse Emperor to his knees and bring about a true Black Crusade."

ĖThe Champions annotation from the Torestus, author unknown

Welcome to Black Crusade: Deed, Not Word. If there is one problem that I need to point out about Black Crusade, it's the fact your Alignment is determined by the advances you take, and not by roleplaying. Sure, you gain some Corruption that way, but it's rather lacking, and it can limit what characters can be played due to the conflict between effectiveness and flavor.

Black Crusade Apocrypha fixes that. In BC:A, a character doesn't advance themselves in the eyes of their chosen God by spending experience, they have to do work which the Gods find worthy. I haven't personally tested the system, but I'd like to try it out in a game. Thus, let's see who has the ambition to take control of their fate, in Black Crusade apocrypha: Deed, Not Word.

Humans, marines, both? Advanced archetypes? Other game info?

I'm interested, though, and leafing through the Apocrypha already.

As of right now, I'm intending both Humans and Marines, Basic and Advanced archetypes (including the Mutant basic in the very back of the Apoc, but Basic archetypes would be getting an exp boost to more or less match the Advanced ones if we have a few). Basics are preferred of course, but I can work with just about anything.

I'm not intending to make this a combat game, nor a social game. I'm intending a mixture of both. Yes, that means Space Marines will need to actually roleplay (gasp!).

I'll be using all the books in this game, pulling from adventures as I choose, so if you do intend to play, please refrain from reading the adventures. (It's no loss if you do, since I'll be adding my own twists.)

I too, wish to express an interest in a Black Crusade game that goes past character generation!

Well with five interests in the chat and a sixth through rMail, I think I have enough of a base to get the game started.

There is one critical thing I have to ask. I'm intending to run this as at least a mature game, but I want to know how many people can actually make it if the game is adult.

I too would be interested in testing out a new system for Chaos Space Marines.

It is probably a better idea to set the game to the adult rating as it would be quite limiting to try and use only mature allowed themes in the chaos side of the warhammer 40k universe.

Having the game both play and system mechanically progress past character creation would indeed be a novelty.

*nods* I think it works best as an adult game.
