The CPRB, Ceres Prime Research Base, spends over 80% of there (dwarf) planet's four and a half year orbit in the deadly Crown Storm Nebula. While this makes for a grate location to bunker down and get some heavy research done it leaves them cut off from supplies or help for just shy of two years at a time. So every once and a while the CPRB holds an auction in New New York selling data and samples from the Nebula. This time however they are holding it on Victoria Station due to one of there latest samples.

   CPRB scouts have been quite sure for years they have found Telos' core, the once liquid sphere if iron and heavy metals at the core of the sun now drifted apart and cooled into a rather oddly shaped mass of metals. But for decades they have been unable to get near enough to make any confirmations or take any samples. However on establishing radio contact as Ceres rose above the ecliptic and out of the Nebula to join the inner planets, they sent word they had not only constructed a device to reach the core but have taken a sample from it.

   They have taken samples from it and plan on getting more, however it was at grate loss in equipment and a substantial loss in crew, leaving them in a bad state to continue there research and restock. There for they are once again holding there auction, going to the station instead of the moon however due to the fact they do not wish to risk contaminating the sample with gate travel. They are reluctantly putting up nearly all the sample as the main item for bid, along with a number of other samples and stores appon stores of data.

   This has brought a large number of people to Victoria Station in anticipation of the auction and with hopes of at lest getting a glimpse at the sample. The prospects of the information that could be gained by it, or the weapon that could be forged from it, have the Station crowded with the representatives of various big names in government, business, and crime.

Here is a list of some important names that are showing up for the event (will update as I give them names =p ):

Monet Granville is sending (a nameless) assistant to bid on various items for study.

Milla Ormanda is sending (a namless) lawer to obtain samples for museums, likely to gain political ground.

Naledi Owusu is sending her daughter Amaphutha Owusu to bid on the core sample only and has said nothing on it... but many claim she wants it destroyed and should be outbid at all cost (mainly claims from those that want it the most).

Even with the traditions and technocracy having formed a union there is still a bit of a cold war brewing from the vets of the Hyperion war that won't let it go even with Jupiter gone. If anything shows this it's that Carrieann Storm and Dr. Howeeel Maddock are both showing up in person to bid on the core sample, likely for some weapon to keep aimed at the other.

Maarten Nostrant has shown similar interest as well and will be bidding by remote link through a construct.

Taisho Sōshin, a renown spiritual leader through out the (mostly outer) planets, is sending a student named Sophia E. Boreh to bid on the core saying that it contains an essence of darkness that should be contained and studied by the brotherhood so that they may find ways to counter such darkness should it descend on us again.

Zelig Tiencken is sending his assistant Margaret Kensington to demand the acquisition of the core to be moved to SSS Level Quarantine stating that under laws set up by the Senex with the traditions and unions such high levels of Entropic energies are to be contained, quarantined, and studied on Charon, Cerberus, or Pluto.  That failing they are likely to bid vast amounts of credits on them, fear that they will outbid people on most every item up there has been a good deal of protest on Senex's participation stating that such discoveries should be shared and that all other bidders would eventually release information to the public while Senex keeps all things to themselves and other Euthanatos only.

Shinkoto Industries is sending a representative named Luxuria Wakahisa to make bids on various items, and is expected to get a lot with there large pool of money they have.

Monet Granville is the Den of the Fors Collegis Meruris on Mus, a small chuck of rock orbiting Mercury. The collage was made by and for the Order of Hermes but is open to all who can afford it.


Milla Ormanda Is one of the three governors of the moon, representing the tecnomancer population. She is a German Void Engender.


Naledi Owusu Is one of the three governors of the moon and represents the non-mage population. She is an African Bastet with the appearance of a puma in her transformed state though such has not been seen much at all and people wonder if it's just a nasty rumor that she is. She pushes heavly on laws to protect the moon.

Amaphutha Owusu  Naledi's daughter she is most defiantly a Bastet, in addition to her puma like appearance she has a unicorn like horn and brown and white wings like that of some bird.  Naledi seams to have disowned her (rumors say it's because the mutations she shows are signs of a dishonor) and she dose not use the Owusu name, but she still stays with her mother as a servant.


Carrieann Storm  A survivor of the Hyperion wars and human governor of Amalthea (also known to many traditionalists as Metropolis 2) She is in charge of what is basically one massive, multiple layered, city covering the entire moon.

Dr. Howeeel Maddock  The governor or general of the large fortress moon Himalia, he is a Scottish Son of Ether who fought in the Hyperion wars.


Maarten Nostrant A dutch Virtual Adept he is in charge of the largest ship yards in the system and likely the most advanced weapons R&D labs based on Mimas.


Taisho Sōshin As said he is a renown spiritual leader teaching unity to the traditions and is a leading voice in the outer planets, though less hurd of in the inner planets he is still heavily respected universally. He is an elderly Asian member of the Akashic Brotherhood.

Sophia E. Boreh Unhurd of until sent to bid on the core. (like most the other unnamed listed lol)


Zelig Tiencken Curent Head of Senex and based on Cerberus. (Germian male)

Margaret Kensington Personal assistant to Zelig. (European female)

Senex A large organization split off from the Euthanatos, and there largest chantry. They are in charge of studding dangerous levels of Entropy and keeping the shard realm of Entropy under a close eye while making sure no one approaches it. They collect massive amounts of data from SR Entropy and Pluto's system but do not share it. However they do sell the advance scenery equipment they produce for these tasks, and it is considered the best available.


Shinkoto Industries The corporation behind the production of Rejuvenate, wich seams to be a diluted one of a kind substance that as yet no one has been able to synthesize or find the source of, ensuring Shinkoto an unbreakable monopoly on the product. This alone took them from nothing to the biggest corporation in the system.

Luxuria Wakahisa works for Shinkoto and not much is known about her save she is exstreamly attractive and word is she's sleeping her way to the top. She is almost always with a very large and unusual looking lone bodyguard.

It's 12 days till the auction.

People are arriving early in droves, and it's clogging up port usage and the like already.

There is a Brotherhood 'temple' in the station. It's a small common leaving pod attached to the station. It has a total of only 7 rooms:

two main rooms:

a the common room, there is no gravity unless you make a hand sign, and all sound but the emergency com dose not carry more than a few feet. Used mainly for meditation and sleep

secondary room, used for conversation, training, and well sex... just anything disturbing to people in the common room tring to rest.

and a few smaller ones:
Food preparation room
Dinning room
Room for hygiene needs
Room for spiritual cleansing, steam room ... small and weak artificial node (can't drain)
High intensity training chamber (one person at a time)

Huoshui is explained the use of the chamber before most of his clothing is removed and he instructed through a few stretches to preform before hand.

The inside of the training chamber is about 10 yards wide seams to be the inside of a near perfect sphere with black shiny walls and a flat floor to practice on. Once in the center of the room the camber activates as the partial sphere closes up and parts of the wall illuminate.

There is a low hum and the lights about the chamber start to shift, almost imitatively Huoshui is meet with a shift in gravity as it increases almost to 3Gs. As he goes through the movements of his training redjement the gravity shifts not just lowering and increasing forcing his mussels to adjust, but even detection requiring him to move along the dome of the sphere to keep his footing.

The strain on the body is intense and after half hour he finds himself starting to tire and grow weak.

At that point the machine hums to life and Huoshui can feel his chi being drawn out of him in every direction... for 5 grouling and painfully minutes it drains every drop of chi from him before as equally unpleasantly forcing it back into him for 5 more minutes.

Huoshui starts a slow and staggered series of strikes into the air. Increasing in speed gradually. The strikes becoming more fierce and sudden. Even when he is in a stance he is swaying. Just as he goes to make another strike...

<Sequence 2>

...his fist falls from the strike and is replaced by a head butt. Feeling drained, his movement slows to a crawl. Painfully tries to keep up the kata.


After 30 minutes of intense training he exits the chamber, picking up his belongings and getting back into his clothing.

Peter's eyelids slowly flutter open.  The station bustles with activity around him.  An eclectic mixture of tourists, suits and the filthy rich mingle in the station's ample commons.  He watches them from the cafe window, a doctor's bag on his right side, a toolbox on his left, with himself set squarely between them.

Absentmindedly he flexes the fingers of his left hand, acclimating his brain to synthetic neural fibers in lieu of his ruined nervous system.  Pain receptors still fire randomly, an anomalous sensation of a phantom body overlaying the new, synthetic self grafted to his brain and spine.

The tip he gives the waitress is lousy.  That's probably why she stopped topping off his coffee.  He doesn't have to check his virtual wallet to know he's almost below a thousand credits now.  Peter's debts weigh so heavily on his shoulders as to crush him; enough that, were  they in single credit chips, it could literally do so.

Boredly he rechecks his day's itinerary:

He'd put the word out as best he could.  He had to be careful -- although he was a master surgeon and technician he still lacked the appropriate credentials.  This whole "street doc" thing was very new to him.

Schedule a meeting with a representative of the local chapter of Etherites

Although the SoE had granted him probationary membership they were mutually reluctant to accept one another.  Surely any task given to him at this juncture would be on a volunteer basis and well below his station.  He pictures himself stuck in some lab poring over a mad scientist's handwritten notes, an unscientific fantasy resting somewhere between Jules Verne and the Power Rangers.  Peter shudders at the thought.

Visit local chapter of the Akashic Brotherhood

Peter had crossed this one out and added it back a dozen times or more.  Since waking up from a medically induced coma on Victoria Station his feelings on the topic have been mixed.  Enemies now abound within his beloved ex-Tradition.  That he survived at all is likely a point of great frustration among the Ten Fists and their allies.

Soltan dropped off his prisoner at the station..The man tied up and beaten to submission had no will left to fight.  One his eyes was swollen shut and dried blood covered his face.

Soltan, holding the man by a leash kick him into a cell and returned to the desk to fill out the proper paper work.

Soltan wore his full armor and weapons, his ugle face drawing looks that he ignored.
Signing his name on the dotted line he returned the EMP weapon he had used to captuer the man.

Stoping at the desk Soltan spoke, a dark cold, emotionless voice..

"Whats rules on carrying fire arms, and if it is illegle can I get the paper work to fill out to be come a bonded bounty hunter or dective to carry weapons"..


 Soltan was in debt, a hugh debt and only knew one way to make money..Find, capture and sometimes kill...

Dr. Cictrix can dose have one message work related from a man named Flavian wishing to meet him in a rather run down bar on level that is mostly maintenance tunnels and small crappy shops, they must be hoping to get some work from people forced to use them to get to the rest of the station from the maintenance docks or from the stations lower class workers.

Peter rises wearily from his seat.  With his bags in tow he weaves through the crowd, an unlit cigarette bobbing between his dry lips, descending into the darker, crappier depths of Victoria Station.

I'll be there, he replies.

The doctor avoids eye contact with the bar's patrons, though he glances about for his potential client.  Somewhere in the back of his brain he maintains a reserve of aggression should this prove to be another robbery attempt.  He'd been meaning to test out the combat capabilities of his new implants anyway.  The lighter flicks to life under his thumb and fades just as quickly.

The man told you to meet him at a table in the back corner.

The guy there twitches actionaly and can't stop fiddling with... well anything. twittling on the table, eyes darting about quite a bit. He appears to have some heavy heavy brain argumentation with a good bit of steel sticking out of the side of his head, looks like he has a few ports full of various simiorganic drives... Oddly they seam to be drives destined to flash burn / eject on command, not something you see in external neural drives usaly.


He seams to recognize you though when he sees you and waves you over with motions to hurry.

After having rested just outside the chamber, Houshui stands up and thanks the staff/attendants. He then asks which way to the closest bar. Having been pointed towards it, he sets off.

Entering the bar dressed in what seem to be simple ragged clothes, carrying a large sack on his back. He asks at the bar "Can I get a top up?" holding up his one of his flasks and shaking it to show that it is empty.

He groans some and shakes his head "godz what a twip...." he sighs some "listen if you got the spice to pull this off go to warehouse H in the sub level here in an hour or so you can take a spy and the meat your cutting and figure for yourself if your cool with it or not... if a compleat spaz there just wipe your memory anyway so might as well check it out if you think you can handle it."

He gets up walking away seaming rather aggravated he pokes some buttons on the side of his head and one of the small drives shots out of his head bouncing across the floor smoking... the normaly blue jell calender broken and leaking burnt black ooze. He seams a little confused after that, but strides of seaming to be calmer.

Implantation can only be done manually.  Most people don't want minor, off the shelf wetware.  They want the gee whiz, illegal and extraordinarily difficult-to-install wetware.  Peter had only seen a few professors who could do it.  Even then the operations were best performed by a sizable team of professionals in highly controlled conditions.  The only ones who could do it themselves were...

The simiorganic drive's gel should be blue with a light bio-luminesence, for it to be dark like that, let alone blacked... means the cells are dead. To be that black and seaping out like that... then its highly unlikely anything can be recovered from it.


You acutely remember reading a study on this! Some heavely modded criminals took to a rather odd means of surgery that removes the part of the brain that filters short term memory to long term, and replacing it with cyber were. This let them to keep incriminating actions from reaching there long term memory, instead re-routing it to an external drive. They would store them some where safe for later. It was rather ingenious practice but had quite the high levels of cyberdegradation on the mind. Drives could be burnt out if they where captured, the memories were to dangerous to have, or just even simply unwanted.

This man was DEFIANTLY on the bad side of the law.

Macy had called him Cal.  This sounded almost right to him, in a blinding moment of painful revelation, he realized that it was shortened; a vulgar argot of familiarity.  He knew that his full name was Caleb Worth...  That was the first time a flash came to him.  The first of a very short list of things he did know - about himself... the world he lived in... anything.

"Look at the bright side..." She said to him, in that frilly thing she wore.  There wasn't exactly warmth in her words, but there was heat in every part of her. The sex, rough and angry, just robbed his suspension of belief, so it came to him as almost matter of fact. "Most people know exactly what kind of assholes they are... you don't have that problem."

He chuckled to himself and glanced out the window again, watching the station rise up ahead and just to port.  They were making approach, and his heart pounded seeing the place.   There was a familiar feeling about it for him, and that seemed to always bring the pain.

The pain he feared, and dreaded... it was like his brain angrily trying to claw it's way out of his cranium.

The pain he needed, and wanted... it always brought with it insight; a vision, a memory... a portent.

In his twelve days of conscious existence he had had exactly 97 of these painful flashes... they had culminated in all that he knew.  97, and he thought about how little that was, and how much that was.

He waited for the pain to come as the shuttle docked... he waited as the mechanical clamps, and armatures moved the vessel into the best boarding position... he waited as he left the cabin.  He waited, but it did not come.

He smiled as he passed the boarding assistant on the way out.  He smiled and thought of the wild, insatiable thing that was Macy, and her words to him.

The normaly lone marine down in the security station at the matiance dock had a small group of 4 or 5 more moving about in his office, the whole scene seamed quite hectic, "Keep your panties on your not going to get anywhere any time soon so have a seat and we can work this out." He takes your ID and looks over the data pad shaking his head. "Yah there is a problem here, your prisoners transport back to Earth got tied up... odd awful lot of push to try and get it through though, Those Libs really want that guy for some reason." He sighs laying the pad down "We will get your weapons and the like sorted out... main rule, no explosives of any kind, no one wants sucked out into space. Firearms are always a last resort, death in a vacuum isn't pretty. As for Mister Douglas you will have to escort him him to the military med center to have his subderal net removed, then he's under your care till we can figure something out... we don't have time for it and he's your payday not ours."

They remove the attachment to the shotgun before handing it over, and confenscate a good bit of your gear. "You can pick this stuff up when your ready to leave, and we better not catch you using any of this for anything other than keeping this freak in check or protecting yourself."

After placing the bug, Soltan will double check and make sure his prison is bound at both hand and foot, hands behind his back connected by a wire to the chain on his feet making running impossible.

He will simply lead the man out, his shotgun at the ready of the small of the mans back.

Most of the table was covered with various catalogues and art-books, displaying his work, the displays showing pictures of fine bits of jewellery and engravings, though one panel was given over to a list of exotic languages that he offered translations between.

There was little actual merchandise there, most of it was securely stored on his ship, it meant people had to wait for a bit, but it was worth it for the extra security, and it wasn't like he needed a lot of sales to earn a living.

As he awaits his beer Dr. Cicatrix keeps an eye on that monk.  Would the Ten Fists really be so blatant?  He'd heard about the Temple here at the station, after all, maybe this was merely a fellow Brother, not an assassin or troublemaker.  He was certainly curious.

Huoshui receives a bottle of the strongest jiu. The bottle is black with a picture of a skull on it. "Good stuff."

He takes the bottle to a small table. He takes out a small glass and begins the process of drinking the bottle.

He is sat in simple short sleeved shirt and trousers with a decorative belt, cloak hung on the back of the chair. A sack with Three wrapped objects attached is leant against his chair.

As he drinks he pays little attention to the world around him. He seems tired and detached from the world.

They are to bussy to notice the bug however most of the time it will just be like listing in on a security station or a dock masters office.... dull dull dull.

The kid your transporting looks like he has tattoo's of computer wires, but they are metal under his skin. He used it to form bio metal over his skin rather than changing his own body... that way if it was damaged it would just drop off him when deactivated. (unless he reabsorbed the energy/mater). With the collar on him preventing it from working and threatening with shaped charges if tampered with magically, he's forced to follow you along.... though with your hands on the controls he is pretty in check, he could still alter his body but odds are you would just kill him.  They want him alive but knows there are people capable of reseration here.

Once away from the guards though he starts talking to you. "I read your reports of the net when you attacked me... I know your from ULS, I know you know how they treat supernaturals and non humans like us.  The charges they got me on are bogus, we got no rites to them... you got no rights to them. Do you really think they will pay you?"

Micheal is approached by a rather large umbrood that looks like a man made of rocks and crystals, he recognized it as Norbits unnamed servant "The little master would like to see you sir."

It's a rather shitty bar to say the least, with shitty bars come shitty patrons. "hey look it's a ninja boy" some spliced man says... looks he's gotten a cross of croc and hyena dna in him.. real freak... he's got a few spliced and cyber enhanced friends to from the look of it. "Hey ninja boy what you donin' down here?" he gives Huoshui a little shove "thought all you chenks stuck together" Another one chimes in "you sure he's a boy... they all shave there heads don't they... could just be an ugly chick"

Michael sighed and stood up, hanging up his be back soon sign and making sure no merchandise was laying around. The other stallholders should keep people away from the largely worthless books. It wasn't that he disliked seeing Norbit, no one really did, he just didn't like the fact that it was always on Norbit's home turf, and he invariably tried to make a sale. On the way he tried to strike up some conversation with the elemental.
   "So, did the blue one say what he wanted then?"

Houshui calmly turns to see the gentleman while moving his position over his sack, smiling slightly.

"As you should be able to see, I am here for a drink. Like I believe is the case for most of the patrons of this establishment. Care for a drink?"

He pours the gentleman a glass and holds it out for him.

He shakes his head "No but he likely hopes you will sell some of his charts at your next location"

That did something to improve his mood, Norbit's charts made for good selling, and if he could get a fair deal on them they would be a sound investment, and was also a chance to update his own charts. He made small talk as they continued their journey, his need to use a staff slowing them considerably, so he used the time to plumb the umbrood for rumors.

You don't get much really, Norbit is thinking about taking a sabbatical he don't like this many people around. The odd little squirrelish umbrood is at his kiosk waiting for his servant to get back, a lack of aposable thumbs dose make it hard to sell things.

It's hard to read his features and even harder to read his responses but you think he's happy to see you when the collar chimes a translation to you. <IT IS USEFUL TO KEEP IN TOUCH WITH ACQUAINTANCES MICHAEL HADENAL> as always it's accommodated with the odd pull on your mind his words always have.

They wouldn't send somebody like that for me.  Too obvious.  And if he's not an Akashic this may get quite ugly for him, the doctor reasons, rising from his seat.

Threads like tiny, sensitive hairs subtly distend.  He reconfigures a series of them to scan the spliced gentleman harassing the monk.

(attempt to determine fighting capability and armor, first on the hyena man, then on one of his meaner looking buddies)

I'll take a couple of turns with this to lower difficulty since nobody appears to be swinging just yet...

It would be easier to alter your eyes to be able to read life paterns. Programing  the procedure will take a turn or two ether way.

Houshui holds out the cup while looking directly at the hyena/croc guy.

Huoshui gets a vague impression of aggression but it don't seam that strong... it's most likely they are just trying to bully him into a fight. They defiantly have a pack mentality, retaliation agents one would bring them all down on you, but odds are if you ignore them they will just keep this up till they get bored.

Huoshui silently turns back around and continues drinking, these gentlemen are just trying to aggravate him. Best just to continue having a nice drink.

He hopes this doesn't escalate.

Dr. Cicatrix was able to preform the rote easily enough but these gen spliced bodies weren't something he was use to studding.

The splicers though appear to have physical stats that average between 4 and 6 (some higher some lower but that's the average)

The cyborg seams heavily heavily enhanced. He's got mental implants to insert data chips to augment his skills. He appears to have a mid grade linear frame giving him about an average strength of 5~6 to reinforce his replaced arms that have about a strength of 8 for striking and 9 for crushing.... wors yet his right arms seams to a weaponized hammerhead ment for smashing things with his fist... He could likely puch a reinforced door down.  From the looks you wouldn't be suprized if he's suffering the early stages of cyberpsychosis and that would explain why he's not talking and seams a little aloft from the rest of the group.

The group continues to harass Huoshui unaware they are being scaned, "That it, you a girl ninja boi?" one though sniffs at the air curiously canting his head some. "Hey boss, think this fools trying some hoojoo on us..." "ooooo this could be fun" They look between the guy that suddenly stood up and the monk and snorts a bit "That it hu... you looking to start something with us ninja boi?"

Michael approached Norbit, steeling himself against the squirrel's mental influence. "Indeed it is Norbit, keeping in contact is what separates us from the animals. What can I do for you?"

"Well I apologise for anything I have done to upset you, I will just be on my way."

Huoshui stands taking his bottle in hand and slings his sack on to his back. Looks the gentleman who the group pointed out.

Things are getting too confrontation for his likings so he sets off out.
He fears this is escalating a lot faster than he had thought.

Once away from the guards though he starts talking to you.


"I read your reports of the net when you attacked me... I know your from ULS, I know you know how they treat supernaturals and non humans like us.  The charges they got me on are bogus, we got no rites to them... you got no rights to them. Do you really think they will pay you?"


Solan doesn't say anything.  He wasn't one for talk..

"They will pay, it is bad for business not to as word would get around in which case no one would do business with them any more..Don't look to me for compassion, I have none"..Says Solan moving the man along.

The little umbrood moved to the edge of the counter sitting up. <IT IS USEFULLY TO RESEAVE AN INFLUX OF CUSTOMERS. The hyena/crock splicer goes back to his pool table laughing in that annoying pitch hyena's tend to do as hi elbows his friends and takes the stick up. "8 ball corner block head." he says with a snicker and hits the ball hard enough to send it flying at huoshui's head.

(and the roll to stop it had a ten re-rolling a ten, re-rolling another ten, re-rolling a success lol)

Huoshui is able to use his Do not only to feel it out and defend himself but he catches the ball with out even turning around.

That shuts them up rather quickly... The rat splicer tones in quietly "Don't worry man we can always catch him off guard some time if you want" the hyena/crock just growls and shoves the rat away going back to his game.

Peter had only vague impressions of street life outside of academia.  It had always been assumed that after graduation he would settle down in some upper-middle class dome as a surgeon, replacing used up hearts and livers, or grafting new skin onto old ladies.  Maybe an R & D job with some cushy corporation and a six figure expense account.  All of... this... was rather novel to him.

*Crack*

The billiard ball rapidly approaches the monk's head.  Peter is helpless to stop it and can only choke back a warning.  It doesn't look like it will be a killing blow and if he is to intervene he'll need the element of surprise.  Then the problem resolves itself.

Nice catch.  Definitely Do.

Peter ashes his cigarette, pays his tab and shuffles out a few minutes after the monk, hoping to catch up with him.

"Er, excuse me?" he says once he's out of sight bar and it's rowdy patrons.

(and just a note you won't see splicers so much, unless your in shadier parts of a town/station... they arn't well accepted by the public.  Some light splicing like cat ears or a tail or something like that some times here and there, but full body alterations tend to stick together and away from the public eyes)

Cal stood dumbfounded for a moment, staring off into space, as his mind reeled over soft impressions and ideas.   These would yield no knowledge outside of simple possibilities, but then they would also not likely be painful.

He snapped out of it at the lady behind the counters words.

"..eclair...?  Sir... Sir...?"

Cal snapped out of his reverie and gave the woman a sheepish smile.

"Oh... I'm sorry...?" he leaned a bit closer, as if to hear her more clearly.  The lady looked sidelong at another attendant, and then returned his smile with a false one of her own.  He was obviously a 'weird one' in her eyes.  She had no idea.

"Welcome to Victory Station... I hope you had a comfortable trip, and I wanted to now if you had anything to declare..."

Cal was puzzled.

"Declare?  Umm... yes... I declare you the prettiest woman in this entire place."

Huoshui calmly puts the ball onto the table and gathers up his things. Putting his cloak back on. Leaves the bar to find a quiet place to sit.


Is approached by the gentleman from before, who calls to him.
"Yes, Can I help you?" He says while smiling slightly.

Michael sat on the umbrood, pleased to take the eight off of his leg, muttering his thanks before responding to Norbit. "Indeed, your man mentioned that you might be wanting some help distributing." He propped his staff on his shoulder. "So, what exactly are you proposing?"

The fetches you a small closed data pad caring it over in his mouth before dropping it.

The information on the pad is a little over your head, but it looks like he has worked out a way to distribute a program to format units like such into a version of the typical charts he sells. They would be quite useless on there own but if a payment is wired to him, after verification (wich might take a day or so) he will send an scripted program to that pad that will overwrite it's software into one of the charts he sells.

Your knowledge of computers is limited though so your grasping at straws here tring to figure it out.

"That wasn't a sparring match.  That was an assassination attempt," he clarifies.  "I'm not so sure they're done with me, either."

He clears his throat before reciting from memory.

"As for the Etherites?  Lao-tzu said, 'We join spokes together in a wheel, but it is the center hole that makes the wagon move.  We shape clay into a pot, but it is the emptiness inside that holds whatever we want.  We hammer wood for a house, but it is the inner space that makes it livable.  We work with being, but non-being is what we use.'  We use similar tools but our philosophies are often conflicting.  The SoE appears frustrated that there is no way to mathematically prove or disprove the void."

He waits for your to look it over, the data pad says it all.

It's the program which can be copied over onto any pad, the price set up to some where in the range of almost 20% cheaper than he normally sells them for. This means you would have to buy them of him, but then you could turn around and sell them at a higher price... even higher than he normally would in some places.

"How about this deal, If I buy shall we say 10 pads and software at 1k per unit, ashat will be a trial run, and I wire you the rest when I get a customer and if I cant shift them by the end of next quarter, you buy them back off of me. I don't know how popular these kinds of charts will be, so that sounds pretty fair, you get some money to cover production costs, and a bit left over. If that works out well we can talk about a longer term deal."

Norbit's eyes glow some and he's quite for a bit. The stone umbrood speaks up after a moment though. "The little master is having trouble translating this.... but it appears the program he is giving you can be copied. You can put them on any pad you want and then use it to change the pad into a chart. You can make them as needed, though with up to a day delay if your in the outer planets... that is better than them ordering one and having it shipped.... far far cheeper too" He holds you with one hand while the other gets two pads for you "He will let you have a chart for the inner and outer planets for your inspection."

Michael looks through the charts, making sure to inspect the entire thing. "Hmm. How about this then, he gives me the program and lets see, I send him 18k for each inner, 30 for an outer and 60 for a sol/mercury correspondence map?"

His tail ruffles a little. <SELF UPDATING CHARTS ARE MORE PROFITABLE> and you find yourself thinking the same... least for a moment. Again he's not trying... but the emotion behind it got you there for a bit, even almost repeating what he said aloud.

"Self updating charts are only sold once, if you include your contact details in the program, why not have them pay for updates by contacting you, shave the price of that down a bit as an incentive, and you have yourself a long term income. Just need to send a bit of that back down the pipe to the traders and everyone is happy."

Not all the charts are self updating the harder to get ones need to be bought again but the main ones are. <PROVIDING SURVIVE IS USEFUL TO ATTRACT COSTUMERS..... IT IS USEFUL TO HAVE QUALITY UNITS.... 10000 CREDIT REDUCTION IN ALL SELLS TO ACQUIRE HIGH QUALITY DISPLAY UNITS> the kinda units he uses did cost near 10k... large storage space, incontestability with many systems, and 3d distally... this way you could provide exactly what he dose with out increasing the price they would have to pay you.

The woman's blank stare made the moment even more awkward.  Cal broke his own look, and gave a sheepish glance at the ground, before looking at the lady, who offered his papers back.

"Again welcome to Victory Station, mind your step, and have a nice stay."

Without ceremony she passed Cal on to his fates, and turn to the next person in line.   Cal sighed, and walked on past the gates into the concourse, glancing around.   Nothing familiar, which wasn't completely surprising, but he fished into his carry-on bag and found one of the brochures that were available on the flight.

"I Awoke beneath a peach tree at the old temple.  I had visions of an ancient apothecary from a time when medicines where all herbs, tinctures and holistic techniques.  When I returned to the makeshift medical facility I'd set up there I found my tools and my pharmaceuticals were somehow transformed.  Not so much that they had changed structure; more that I had changed structure, if that makes any sense."

"I'm actually dreading my meeting with the Sons of Ether.  I have an impression of them but I'm still an outsider.  We may share the same tools, not the same mindset.  At some point I must make my presence known, at which point I will have to demonstrate my 'knowledge'.  For all the concrete theory and metaphysics I know they'll probably expect some half-assed grand unification theory.  I can't exactly trade quips from Eastern philosophy with these guys.  I mean, I've been through the university system, this should be second nature to me.  I could write a dissertation on cellular membrane permeability on a whim.  That doesn't mean I can write Science Fiction."

He raises his doctor's bag.

"These days it's mostly business and very little pleasure.  I have bills to pay.  I am the Million Credit Man, after all," he says, chuckling.

He's a monk, do you think he watches reruns from the 1970's?

"If nothing else, it's a pleasure to speak with one as humorous and accommodating as yourself.  I'd understand if my recent change of Tradition or a general lack of familiarity prevents you from teaching.  Should you need my services do not hesitate to ask.  I can give you my comm ID or the address to my office."

He swings his satchels a bit as he mulls something over.

"I've got a job lined up but it doesn't exactly sound, er, legal.  I've been debating whether I should even go.  I need the money.  Badly.  But I don't need the trouble.  Should you feel bored or adventurous you're welcome to join me.  Otherwise we'll need to part ways for now."

Warehouse H was in the lowest level of the station where most of the space was just used for long term storage by the staff, spare parts, emergency rations, ect ect. The gate on Warehouse H was open a little and there was lights inside it, one could crawl under the gate to get inside rather easily.

He slips easily beneath the door, dragging his bags along behind him.

"Yes, I finished my stay with the master now I just travel around." 

The good doctor kicks up a little dust dragging his bag, making him cough some and his eyes water.

The warehouse seams to be what you would expect, a bunch of stored medical supplies and emergency medical kits. However part of the room has been cleared out with stuff pushed aside and stacked into the corners making room for table and some surgery tools with lots of plastic laid down over the area.

Huoshui gets a little bit of an uneasy feeling as his mental training picks up on the fact he seams to avoid looking at various places around the room, when he tries his eyes advert.

The doctor picks up several hidden paterns... the patern around them warped and twisted and he has a hard time looking at them derectly for a moment before they seam to just appear out of nowhere.  The life signs don't make much sence as they don't have any of the typical life signs, they arn't breathing, some don't have heart beats, others have faster heart beats from implants, and most of there body temperatures are well bellow 98.1

They both see though two men(?) on ether side of them in sealed space suits. There white with black markings and there helmet is adorned with the graphics of a human skull. Another was tending to a med-cart that wasn't there before with a 6th figure dead (according to all readings) on the cart.

They where Neo-Cappadocians, the suits quite identifiable to anyone who hurd about them or saw them on news reports. These made men had charged energy weapons trained on them (at lest the four at the sides of the room).

The one at the cart droned out through the suits voice <WHO'S YOUR FRIEND?> as he made a nod to Houshui. <WHERE YOU NOT INSTRUCTED TO COME ALONE.>


.... Yes aiding and abbeding known criminals was defiantly not the most legal job for a doctor, but in some places it was a common one.. but was there really much he could do if the patient was dead?

Huoshui feels a little drowsy from the moment the word sleep is uttered, the rote let him see the mind paterns in affect and gave him a chance to block them with his mind magics, however the strength of his mind is enough to keep him awake from what makes it through to his mind.

The man at the cart picks the body up moving it to the table. <REPAIRS A FORMERLY PLACED IMPLANT HAD A CATASTROPHIC MALFUNCTION.>

Scans showed the guy had a few implants, most notably the fact his heart was separated into 4 segments, each pump of the heart with it's own bionics and in different parts of the body. One of the pumps of the decentralized heart malfunctioned and burst and is pierced by some of the mechanics. The other three are poorly assembled and just as likely to suffer the same fate.

They seam a little wary of Huoshui, unexpected addition that won't be dominated.

He dose something that makes the space suits armor crack open and he lifts it up. There a few wires he has to remove from his chest before he can take the chest plate off all the way.

Sweat beads his brow.

"It would be a patch job if I did it here.  From my office I can make this seamless.  I can make the equipment as good as it was, not better, but the lifetime of the device should at least meet, if not exceed, the original warranty.  You'd have to check for yourself if there are any known issues with this particular model.  If the original design is a dud it might explain the damage I'm seeing.  If not I'll try it here, but if things get too hairy, I'll have to stop.  I would understand if moving this... individual would be too risky," he explains.

"We also need to discuss my pay," he adds, gulping involuntarily.

Still getting a fix on the monetary system here, any suggestions for my going rate, Azraile?

He attempts to balance greed and need, giving himself room to negotiate.

"500,000 credits.  A significant discount, if I do say so myself.  I'd need another 100,000 to do it here instead of using my own facilities," he says.

He picks up some radio signals bouncing around between them, but don't have the software to translate it into sound (likely intercepted anyway). After a moment the guy nods and pulls up a smaller table with all the tools you would need (and then some... seams they don't quite know what is needed) <THAT IS AGREEABLE>, he moves into the back and returns a moment later with a small metal box and sets it down opening it up, it's nearly full of standard chips.... if there all full there is 600K there.

"Okay.  Give me some room here," he says.

"Can you hear me?" he asks the patient, feeling a little silly with the EKG showing him nothing but a flat line.  "If you can, I'm going to begin operating.  I'm guessing I don't have a proper anesthetic for you.  I'll be gentle when I can."

He cracks his fingers dramatically.  Thin tendrils distend from his chest and forearms, as if he were something between an octopus and a sea anemone.  They gingerly lift the plate away, removing each wire in the proper order as Peter takes note of the sequence for reassembly.  A couple reach for the table, snagging any tools he might need.  Finally one slips into his front pocket, removes a handkerchief and wipes his sweaty brow.

The doctor takes a mental snapshot of the device to ensure it retains the same function and controls.  Sometimes he inadvertently improvises, and he's sure that any change to the implant's operations would anger his (Zombie?  Vampire?) clients.

"Okay.  Here goes."

What ever it was it looked like a corpse that was for sure... as more and more armor was removed it looked like like a withered corpse or a very well preserved mummy  (http://reference.l2fury.com/images/3/38/Harbinger.png a good example of what one would look like outside there armor). There wasn't much mussel or flesh to work with but what was there was hyper dense and far more durable than it looked.

7 success on Int + med/tech (lowest of two) roll with diff reduction from other rote.
To gather the 5 success needed to make the repairs takes 3 hours of work... exstra success go to improvements.
5 success on how well the repairs where done and closing it up.

After 4 hours of work the job is done, the pumps moved to the locations they want them now, and started.  They work as well as they would had they been installed by a pro from the start now. You where also able to take the flawed desine of shielding all around the pumps to armor plates on the ribs behind and in front of the heart pumps.... less protection overall but they are unrestricted and shouldn't fail again, the tight armor and over clocking the pumps was what caused the problem in the first place.

From the examination this 'man' is likely a vampire despite his looks, your fairly sure of the quality of your work yet besides the now working pumps he seams just as dead as before.

There is an odd unpleasant sound from inside the suits of one of the vampires watching. The helmet's eyes open letting you see the dried out socked with there withered red eyes. As it looks down at the data pad it shorts out and the screen cracks. <NO NOTES> it drones as the mask seals up again. (there still glass fount of the eye when the skull masks eye opened just not shaded and reinforced)

The hours lurch by slowly for Peter.  Any sense of novelty at working with an undead patient turns quickly to frustration.  A dessicated corpse would be preferable this, an unbelievably emaciated creature with hide as thick as an elephant's.

"It's like cutting leather," he says, gritting his teeth.

He starts up the reciprocating saw and leans in for leverage.

The vascular system has wasted away but blood still pools in the heart.  Fascinating.

When the work is finally done he sits on a nearby crate and lights himself a congratulatory cigarette.  As a precaution he soaks his nanofibers in a strong antibiotic before retracting them back into himself.

"I took the liberty of spreading reinforcement throughout the unit.  It will reduce the overall durability but the device will work reliably to spec," he explains, somewhat acclimated to these strange new clients.

"My apologies regarding Huoshui, he meant no harm.  I actually don't recall your contact telling me to come alone.  Of course, he destroyed any memory of our conversation, so there is no way to verify.  I'm open to more work in the future, though I advise we continue to use go-betweens.  I wouldn't want to compromise you."

He casually scoops up his credits.

"If there's nothing else I'll be on my way."

The vampire lowers down taking the sides of the monks head and looks into his eyes a moment. It takes him a few minutes to root around the monks mind but huoshui falls asleep when he's done, and he stands to turn around to Cicatrix.

Caleb was snapped out a daze again. "Sir.... Sir... We are going to have to quarantine some of these goods. I am getting some unusual reading reported from your scans. In addition to some odd fractures in your pattern I am told there is a high chance of you experiencing an unresolved paradox in the next week. I think it's best you get yourself checked up."

"Really?" he asks, taking a step back.

"I'd rather you didn't erase details your anatomy, aside from maybe the face or the make and model of the equipment I repaired.  Such hands on experience with your kind is... rare, and I should like to retain what I've learned of your physiology.  I hope to understand how to install these devices myself one day and you can obviously see the quality of my work already," he babbles, unconsciously raising his hands.

Damnit, he warned me about this.  But now that it's actually happening?

He sighs.

"When you're ready, I guess."

He tries his best not to squirm as they come near him.

<I WILL BE CAREFUL NOT TO REMOVE ANY VALUABLE DATA.> You can feel the other mind pushing in on your own... it's quite uncomfortable but soon you find yourself asleep.

When the two of you wake you find your memories of there appearance, and some of the details of the surgery (where the pumps were, the modifications you made to the armor... It's all there, but the details that could provide a weak spots to the heart pumps are a little fuzzy or missing).

Several hours have passed and it looks like they have packed up, the only sign they where ever there were the misplaced boxes, the two groggy men waking up, and the little box and a data pad.

The pad only has one file:

Flavian left something extra for you.

Followed by a list of a few sector links for the net, and some places where good net-diving gear can be found... and the added line "get learned"

Also there appears to be two vials of some odd some what congealed fluid that is a kinda greenish golden color. Huoshui has seen some people in the temple with it but isn't sure what it is... Cicatrix's mild experience with underground elements tell him it's Titanian Honey.

"Are they really gone" he asks, looking around in shock.  Equal parts dread and relief fill him.

He retches in the corner.

"I was trying to hold that back until they were gone," he says, wiping his mouth with a sleeve.  "I've never been around anything like that.  Is that the kind of experience you were hoping for?  Or at least not hoping against?"

Pay off school and my monthly payment on my medical bills.  I might upgrade my office or even advertise as well (unless my arcane interferes).  I'd like to Start working towards ifluence, contacts and allies.  I also might find being a street doc more appealing..

"You don't look like you've got a steady job or anything, no offense.  Would you like 60,000 credits for your trouble?  They seemed a bit unhappy with your presence but you were immune to their manipulations.  I think it gave me a real edge in there."

He stands up, shakes off the last of the nausea.  He grabs his bags and slips back under the door.

"I suppose I'll do a bit of shopping now.  Then I'm headed back to the the office I sometimes sleep in.  You're welcome to keep tagging along."

Kairos sits kneeling on the floor of the shuttle in silent prayer to the fates that govern the laws of nature, gods and men alike.

He raises himself up slightly, draws his combat knife and cuts along the palm of his left hand. Not deep enough for a lasting wound but to draw enough drops of blood to hopefully appease Morrigu, the bloodthirsty Phantom Queen.

From a hip flask his gulps down a mouthful of whiskey to dull the pain in his hand before remembering to offer a prayer to Woden along with it.

"Hail Woden, Lord of Wisdom.
Thou who hung nine long nights from the windswept tree
And looked into the very depths of its mystery
Thou who won the Holy Runes and brought them into our world
Guide us in thy wisdom along the path of light

Once finished with the prayers to the variety of gods Kairos follows he goes through his belongings, looking to once again read the important contract that brings him to Victoria Station.

"Any experience you can walk away is preferable and it seems this is one of those, so I am happy." He says while inspecting the vials.

"Why thank you, One in my position cannot turn down money when it is offered so freely. I am sorry if my presence made that any more difficult than was needed but it was certainly a learning experience I will try to remember, well the bits I am allowed to."

He flicks through the data-pad.

"You said earlier about comm ID and address, I think I need to head over to the temple. Might see you later, this was...fun."

He follows back through the gap.

Kairos mulls over the details of the contract. He had read and re-read them over and over again and every time the words left him unsettled.

He pushes the uneasy feelings from his mind and tries to relax listening to some classical music from his datapad, selecting Brahms' Violin Concerto in D major he closes his eyes, awaits docking at the station and beginning his work.

The ship makes it ahead of time and 'luckly' makes it quickly through there directed docking lane. The only snag in quickly getting Karios on the ship is a bit of unease at the full armor and sword at the security, but once he finds the tradition has gotten you special permissions for them, he's let into the station at one of the main gates near the old Victoria Train Station Museum section of the station. He pulls out a small pad of paper/writing medium from his doctor's bag, sketching down a comm ID and address, and hands it to the monk.

"As I said, let me know if you're having trouble.  I'm still interested in learning Do but I'll give you some time to decide.  If I can't be patient there would be no point in teaching me anyway."

He presents his right fist in his left palm, extending outwards towards Huoshui.

"Safe travels."

With that he is off.

Once he's up a floor or two and out of the seedier area of the station he checks his itinerary:

Schedule a meeting with a representative of the local chapter of Etherites
Visit local chapter of the Akashic Brotherhood

He adds:

It was the Son's that put Victoria Station into orbit, and they are still in charge of it, so there are several SoE ran places here. It only takes a few seconds to trasfure 60k onto Huoshui's chip.

The laws on Titanian Honey are different from place to place. It's not quite illegal on the station, but it's contraband. Having it on you will get it confiscated and they will fine you, but trying to sell it or smuggle it is much more serious.

Peter detours to his office, dropping the two vials amongst his meager stock of pharmaceuticals and cleaning agents.  While he's there he takes a quick shower and runs a diagnostic on his implants to be sure nothing has been compromised due to the day's strenuous work.

He transfers 250,000 credits to the university with a personal note thanking them.  He also deposits 65,000 to stay current on his medical bills.

Assuming everything is in working order the doctor throws on a dress shirt and slacks before heading back out.  He marches intently towards the appropriate Son of Ether department to make his presence known.

Hopefully there's no childish hazing ritual.  I always hated those.

Kairos can do nothing but stare in awe at seeing a piece of his homeland again.
He composed himself, there was a job to be done.

He looks around for any maps or signs that could lead him to a Euthanatos maraout.
He needed to find lodgings and people he could trust.

Kairos see's the same thing, that the one creature is preventing free quintessence from clinging to it's pattern.

As the snow burst clears a blue flying body with a fish leg is defiantly in there. It darts in the detection of the other two making a motion with the Trident, a wave of harsh wind blowing into the hallway covering everything in ice.

The mage figure brakes free of the ice slowly, staggering back. While the ice of the other figure shatters at the chest as a long blade of metal spears out of the ice at the Fae. She gracefully dodges, swimming a circle around the blade and cutting through it with the trident.

The blade explodes into a shower of metal particles that flow like water back into the ice as it brakes apart revealing a humanoid that appears to be made of liquid metal. Behold the Nanotech Assembalge, NT-1.



Seeing a creature being attacked, Huoshui cannot sit back and do nothing.

He moves closer and focuses on the ones attacking the mermaid, less so on the robotic thing.

Kairos draws an old, worn longsword and advances alongside the black hooded figure.

He swings his sword up, round above his shoulder and points his trusty blade at the metallic humanoid's head.

Caleb's face falls slack, his jaw dropps nearly to the floor as the Mermaid swims toward her attackers.

"Bloody 'ell..." he mutters raising his left arm up before him, hand slipping into a mundane gesture, as he does so, a stream of strange light flares up in intricate, technological design along his left arm.

"run Krav Maga self." His voice and timber change as he speaks then the strange techno lights wash over his body... as this occurs, his left hand balls turns slight inward, as does his right which comes up before his face.  He right foot slips forward, a single step, but this allows his left foot to chamber itself.  His stance is small, and clean, and forward facing, elbows in and low to the body, hands are opened not balled, and his head is low as if protecting his neck.

(Anyone who has ever seen Krav Maga fighting style, will recognize this stance immediately).

Security isn't ready to let Kairos near the clenic. "hey hey, drop your weapon." one says lifting a gun to aim at him.

Meanwhile inside the Fae darts through the air at the attackers, another lance of metal shoots out of her and she rolls to avoid it but gets glanced by it. Blood is drawn but she don't seam that hurt as she shatters the ice of the cyborg guard taking his head clean off his shoulder with her trident giving a nice little spray of blood and sparks.

She then flips the trident driving it through the guards gun into the ground braking it to pices as she turns around throwing a bolt of lighting into the NT-1... all that seams to do is brake it free of it's ice, it looks completely unfazed.

The group gathered around can hear her on the security's coms "Forget what I said, get me some one in here that can hurt this damn thing, I'll keep it distracted..."

You can barely making her out shouting at the thing "_{Fucking heartless piece of soulless parts I'll tier you to pies with my bare teeth if I have to.}"

(some editing because I forgot she could throw lighting and had to make up for the bunks she was using up.... and will note it's really really really hard for a fae to fight a MARK unit, let alone one that regenerates and resists physical damage due to quick release bonds.)

Not arguing with the man who has a gun pointed at him, Kairos lowers the guard of his sword to below waist level and points the blade out behind him towards the ground but doesn't drop it like the security politely suggested.

His stance is deceptively open but he remains ready to recieve any incoming attack, he doesn't take his eyes off the combat taking place in front of him.

Michael approached the scene, levering himself forward with his staff, approaching the group in front of the guards. Watching the displays of power going on beyond them. His flowing brown robes caught carefully around him.

He slowly moves closer to the line of guards clutching his stylus tightly in one hand, hidden in the folds of his robe. He doesn't bother to conceal his presence, and it would do little good for him to try in any case. He adopted a superior tone and addressed the security officer. "What the hell is going on here man?"

Most the guards run back to the guard station to swap out there weapons, leaving only a few behind to keep people back, not enough to keep anyone determined at bay though.

Huoshui moves through the remaining guards.

"I apologize but that thing needs to be stopped."

Huoshui removes his sash from his cloak and wraps it around his left fist.
He also speeds into a running punch.

Kairos is startled by the familiar voice he hears behind him.

"Michael? Michael Hadenal!? That you?"

He turns to face an old friend.

He cuts himself off mid-reminiscence.

"Know what, let's catch up later. There's this... mermaid see, she needs some help and and I'm not going to let the black hood over there have all the fun."

With that he turns, forces any security out of his path and charges, sword raised and aimed at the metal humanoid.

Michael's face betrays his surprise. "It has been a while Kairos." He stepped around the security, flourishing his stylus. before calling after his advancing friend. "Give me clear lines and advise the black hood to do the same!"

Unless the security try to intervene, Michael produces his notebook and starts scribbling across two pages, drawing a complex sigil, intertwined with alien formulae in strange alphabets, holding the book in front of his eyes when done, as if looking through it.

Matter 1 forces 1 to determine how forces can affect observed materials, standard effect iirc, Difficulty 4 -1 for my unique focus, 1 success.

The mermaid is quite attractive (appearance 6) however rather alien in apperance. Her upper body is not exactly human. Webbed hands, fins, gills, smooth leathery blue skin, large but thin lips, 3 rows of sharp teeth, and inhuman eyes are not the features of the mermaids of elder tails. None the less with her white hair flowing about like she was still underwater, she was a vision of loveliness.

As they approach she bit her thumb allowing some blood to splatter on the floor before writing some symbols on her other palm.

The guards try and stop those running past them "Hey stop, it's too dangerous." they cry but are forced to try and keep the rest of the crowd in line.

The metal woman spins around and shots another blade out of it's body into the mermaids chest. It penetrates her armor and draws blood making her grit. (1 lethal)

She reaches down grabbing the blade in her chest pulling it out and sending a rush of ice down it once again encasing it in a few inches of ice.

As Kairos runs in smashing through the ice with his sword the creature inside bursting forth from the ice around the sword in two pieces moving around the blade to come together only in time to get punched squarely in the chest by the monk before it has a chance to brake apart the sure force of the quintessence infused Do strike ripples through it causing an explosion of metallic dust, and for once... most of the dust stays on the ground while the rest of it melds up to reform the hole in it's chest. Yet it seams to be a little smaller now.  (4 lethal damage, 1 immediately regenerated)


The glowing writing on Michael paper re-arranges it's self into an complex story in the same alien alphabet telling Michael how the matter of the creature is made...

Michael took a few moments to think, quickly working through a way to modify one of his preferred offensive magics. He started drawing again having to change the familiar shapes on the fly. Rather than working into his book he moved the stylus through the air, leaving the writing to hang there in glowing orange threads. Normally the rote focused heat and light in an area into a weapon, this instead focused the cold of the ice into the automaton.

Fastcasting forces 2 for cold induced damage to NT-1, diff 6 - 1 for unique focus, throw a point of the good stuff in for another -1 1 success to damage +1 for forces, for 2 levels.

Caleb had pushed through the security just behind Huoshui, and watched as the chaos unfoled.  He saw the others doing their damnedest to do battle against these abonimations, and he looked and focused his sight on the liquid-metal woman who seemed to be the eye of the storm.

He didn't know what she.. or it was, but instinct told him all that he needed to know.

"Ah hope yer ready, Sadie darlin..." his words came as he riffeld quickly into one of the plastic bags he carried, and pulled from it what looked like a large, Flintlock Pistol and a Sons of Either's Wet Dream all blended into one.

He focuses, pulls the hammer back on the weapon, and aims it at the Metal menace running rampant, and as he does a swirling purple vile empties from the top of the weapon, presumably filling it's chamber. With a smirk Caleb pulls the trigger.

Reacting to his sword passing straight through his opponent, Kairos manoeuvres to the back, flanking the metal woman.

"GIVE A CLEAN LINE OF SIGHT!"

Kairos quickly bellows out, hoping the fighting monk understands his orders to get out the way.

Huoshui hearing both the command and the click of a gun, side steps to flank the metal woman with the armored one nodding while doing this.

The mermaid moved between the retreating monk and the robot as it's attentions turned to him "Hey no I'm here to distract you remember... and once I get a good flow of glamor going with this I'm going to Freeze you again, i'm enchanting you and slowly your freezing more and more and Your not going to be able to move eventually if I can keep this up"

Caleb concentrated and with a familiar sound the weapon he claimed as his own hummed to life a swirling purple light/fluid filling each of the ten chambers slowly.

All the ice rapidly started to melt and reform around the NT-1 as all the cold in the room condensed on on spot... it quickly started to freeze in place. (3 agg damage to the NT-1 though it heals one again)

With a aggressive motion the Fae takes advantage of the situation and blasts it with ice once more... this time it's frozen in a block of ice more than a foot thick on all sides of it.

She barks out orders onto her com. "Quick we need to jettison this thing into space, away from the moon, before it can fix itself enough to brake free."


(Caleb or Kairos can still attack if they like, but it seams to be traped this time.)

Huoshui steps forward again.

"What was that exactly, I cannot say I have seen one before."

Lowers his stance, returning to a more relaxed state.
Begins to up rap his sash from his fist.

Caleb lowered the flintlock, and shrugged.

"Bloody He... Wha'd ye do tha fer? Ah hodem in me sights..." He shrugged, and turned to look around. "Bloody Mermaids!"

Lowers his hood and continues

"So your going to shoot it into space... miss mermaid. Need any help with moving it?"

Michael moved in closer, standing near Kairos. "It is a good thing we were about Madam Demetria, your outfit isn't really tooled for this kind of disturbance." He moved closer to the ice encased creation. "What was it trying to do?"

Demetria pulls Kairos' helmet off giving him a rather deep kiss and pressing agnest him. After the moment has passed she turns to Michael. "I am afraid I'll have to keep you for questioning till we can figure that out.... but if you don't mind please keep it cold, we don't want it free"

Security can be seen dragging an unconscious Solan Griss, and leading Lee McDouglas along. "We captured these two fleeing the scene"

"Very good."

Security that ran off return with some cases and two carrying rather large energy weapons.

Michael nods and starts walking around the frozen construct. Tapping his stylus against his chin, considering how to go about continuing the the cold. He started to draw onto the ground. The pattern visibly related to the one he drew in the air before, though with many alterations. He stepped back and raised his staff, beginning to chant in a dead language.

Going to have a shot at a ritual to keep the thing from warming up for a while, I am thinking 6 successes should be enough, 3 for the full keeping away of heat, 3 for a duration of a day. Difficulty 5.

1 success so far.

Shall we say 1 min per roll?

Huoshui watches as the ritual is drawn out. Looking carefully at the pattern then listening to the strange tounge used by the Mage. He sits cross legged new by and continues to watch it.

With all this excitement it was good to just watch a person practice his art. Pulling down His hood and putting his sack to his side.

Caleb put the flintlock away, and stood around, seeming board as the ritual continues.

Kairos was still dumbstruck from Demetria's kiss. His sword and his jaw dropping in unison.

"Er...Glad I could be of assistance, ma'am. Now can you explain what's been going on in this clinic?"

She smiles "well that's what I will try and find out, I am going to have to hold you for questioning.... besides your are all quite warm and I could use the company." she pokes Kairos' chest "espeshaly you, not seen some one with as much warmth of you on this chilly gate in a while"

To the side the guards set up a few relay rods around the chunk of ice while hocking them up to the case with what must be the teleportasion device. "Man I hate these things, we will be scanning to make sure it isn't still on the station for months" "At least it wasn't a HIT Mark 7" "yah, It's not like we have participle accelerators large enough to throw one in up here" "Oh come on... really?" "What" "Those movies are so not based off HIT Marks" "They are too" "No they arn't if anything the 6 and 7 are based off the movie" "No it's true, I know some old guy that use to work in the New World Order but ran off before they became U4. The first movie was produced as propaganda to raise the public's acceptance of hyper tech like the HIT Mark 5's."  "You believe him? The other two movies were out before the other units hit the streets."  "The second movie was released to reduce the massive paradox of exposed HIT Mark 6's, tests showed it was a serious problem with the modle so they released the movie ahead of the prototypes to damper the impact of there exposure." "Yah but the 7's are just now prototypes." "The third movie was to help make the possess of R&D into the 7's easier with another shift if public view of what are possible technologies"  "Your talking like most sci-fi was to promote advancing technology and reduce paradox." "That or it was traditions trying to inspire a seed of science in peoples hearts" They are quite the chatty bunch and seam to be in quite the discussion until one of the other security officers barks at them to pay attention to what they are doing... don't wana mess this up.

Huoshui for the most part ignores the machinery being put together, It had never really interested him. Use of technology over the arts was odd to him, even with a society that is heavily accustomed to the use of tech. He pitied them.

Having seen little to no similarities between the strange language being used by the mage and the one he had been taught, he stops paying it much attention. It was interesting but he had no time to learn another dead language.

Guessing that he will also have to stay here for questioning he stands up picks up his sack and moves over to the two captured people. He would make himself useful and check their condition, thinking if they need help he could contact that strange doctor from earlier. Having little knowledge of medicine himself, he went with what he knew.

Crouching down over them he has a quick look over them, checking their condition then raising on hand and holding it in the same manner as before, he seems to concentrate more thoroughly.

Huoshi as you look at Solan you feel a twinge of horror as you realize the man is quite ugly..Scars cover his face, and half and ear and bottom of his lip or missing giving him a permant look of anger on his face.

He has no hair, and a small g-t.  He looks hard..even passed out he seems to be more cold than human..

You also notice he is covered in weapons, from hand guns to shot guns to grenades and other items cover his body..He has a banderlier or knifes and belts and pouches..as if the man is always ready for war..

Michael threw up his hands, tossing away the magic he was drawing as the guards started to set up there device, pocketing his stylus and turning back to his old friend. "Just like old times Kairos," He flexed his fingers in the chilled air as if trying to keep the blood flowing. He glanced around, "It is also reassuring to see that I am not the only fool who moves towards alarms."

Huoshui feels no horror from this heavily scarred man, He has been through and seen too much for this to off balance him.

OOC- Would you really still have your weapons? Having been apprehended and all.

Being unable to tell how damaged the individual is, and his healing abilities extending no further than first aid he regretfully has to leave the individual as he is.

Solan's weapons were taken yah and are on the security caring him. He's only got two bashing damage... the rest was intense neurological pain to stun him.

Peter walks on scene, noting the signs of recent carnage about the promenade.  Another cigarette is lit.  He surveys the area for injured bystanders.  Noticing the security guards grouped together he cautiously approaches, being sure his medical bag is in plain sight.

"Morning, all.  I'm Dr. Cicatrix with the Sons of Ether.  Figured I aught to see if anyone's injured."

Recognizing Huoshui he pads over to the monk, hoping his credentials and purpose won't spook security.

"What'd I miss?"

Walking in behind the doctor, Anja could only gape about and wonder what the hell happened. Since Peter was asking the questions, Anja followed close by, remaining silent and watchful.

"Not alot, I met some new people. This guy and this guy were dragged back here, I don't know them."

He points towards the KO'd people.

"Oh and a robot tried to attack people."

He lowers his voice, "Oh can you also see the mermaid? I hope so, other wise I might need to get a check up. I think her name is Miss Connor."

Anja raised her eyebrows at the mention of a mermaid and began looking about. She had to wonder what a mermaid would be doing on a space station. Was she a prisoner? A lab rat?

Peter waves at the gathered magi.

"Pardon me, Anja, didn't mean to be rude.  Huoshui?  Anja.  Anja?  Huoshui!  Huoshui might be teaching me Do."

He clears his throat.

"Right.  Triage mode..."

Bows politely. Then holds out his hand, even at a quick glance it can be seen to be heavily scared.

"Also I never remember promising to teach you anything of the sorts."

Afterwards, he turns to the mermaid.

"Just had an idea, instead of throwing it into space. Can't we throw it into a  forge, Recycle her. That would finish it off no? Got a large vat of liquid metal?"

Anja smiles then bows in return, doing her best to make it polite. "Thank you Huoshui, nice to meet you."

He turns back to Anja.
"I apologize, Its hard for me to focus sometimes."

Anja nodded. "His order? Yes, I am. Our um, specialties are different. He's an MD, I'm not. Um, I'm not even a nurse. I'm more of a chemist and physicist."

Caleb simply stood there, watching the interaction between the Monk, the Doctor, and the lady.  His eyes drifted to her more often than he was obviously comfortable with, but he looked away any time she caught him.

"Nay, lad..." he said at the mention of liquid metal. "thoss godda be d'worse idea in da entire -history- o bad ideas..."

He looked then at the machine as it's being placed around the bot-sicle and he continued to speak.

"Bes ting dey can do 's sep'rate iz molecules n send em out in diff'rent drecsons as far as that pice of sheit cantripshin will take em...  he looked back at Huoshui "Drop em in metal, ye might as well be taken em to da hospital

"Oh I see. What do you specialise in? You don't happen to be a specialist in teleportation, gravity or other such transportation methods.?"

He seems more interested and focused than before.

The mermaid has 3 lethal damage and Solan 2 bashing.

"you know things have calmed down, and I know you wish to help but you really should stay back." one of the security says to the two new comers.

The security working on device look over. "We have finished calibrating the device, we should be able to port it over U4 territory with enough added momentum that it shouldn't be able to escape. That way if it isn't killed returning to earth it will just land in U4 some where... they will more likely shot it down than let it damage there structures"

The mermaid smiles nodding. "Very good."

"Can't we do something less destructive? Can't we find someone to reprogram it?" Then it could be used to protect people rather than harm."

Caleb paused for a momment and then nodded enthusiastically.

"I gus ye cud say dat, yeah..."



Caleb looked at the monk as if a second head just grew out of his neck.

'Is this man, insane?  He wants keep it as a pet?'

"yed do better ta call it a gorilla, slap it in da face, and den run away wit a banana haning out yer ass..."

He pointed at that thing in the ice.

"Som tings is made fer one ting and one ting o'ny...  Dat ting kills... no otter purpose fer it... dats plane t'even me..."

Turning to Caleb.

"I am sorry, I meant what the lady specialises in, you already said you could help, being a physicist. I was trying to see if she could assist us in the project."

"Why do people insist on making horrible killing machines. This one doesn't even have someone behind it who can think about what they are doing."

Turning back to the doc and Anja

"This is Cal, I met him at the temple earlier."

"I myself have recently been trying to work out the movement of the universe, umm energy and physics I guess. Not quite getting the hang of it, the old master's lessons weren't always clear."

He pauses and then continues in a more serious manner,

"This may sound odd but could I have someway of contacting you? I am currently trying to help the temple here in getting more farming land. It seems I won't be able to go into too much detail now, I think they want me for questioning..."

He quickly glances over to the robot and then the mermaid.

"Ahh... Plesures Mine, luv..."

He says smiling and trying not to stare at the lady.

"Yeah, alchemist, that's a good way to put it." Anja agreed as she fished a slip of paper out of her purse and wrote down her number and web address. "Here. My number and address, well, was address, you can mail me or cll me. I don't know much about farming, but I could help someone who does."

Being checked out was making her self conscious and it seemed the more self conscious she got, the more alluring and noticeable she got.

"Ha, ha! My memory of the old days doesn't feature killer robots but it is good to work with you again."

Kairos picks up and returns his sword to its scabbard.

"I was here shortly before the alarms went off, I was trying to find Miss Demetria here when I learnt there was a spot of bother."
He motions towards the blue fae near him.

"There's some serious matters I have to attend to while I'm here on the station, we can catch up properly once I'm done...provided you can find me a good pub!"

The air distorts, ripples, then collapse in on the ice encased HIT Mark and then it is gone. Demetria looks around "gather up the metallic dust, it's disabled nantes.... and make sure there disabled. Initiate NT protocols." The men knew that was coming but when she says it they groan anyway. "I know cold heartless work but we can't risk some of it is still alive some where to regenerate."

She looks to those gathered "now if you please we can get you to the security station and we can try and figure out exactly what happened." She leans into Kairos "If you wouldn't mind a detour I can think of a few ways you can help warm me up good Sir Knight" she says with a some what disturbingly toothy smile. She may be as impossibly attractive as the stories of some fae are.... but three rows of teeth is still three rows of teeth o.o

One of the security looks to Huoshui after it's transported away. "The Hyper Intelligence Technologies Mark VI is a Nanotech Assemblage. In a way they are almost alive. While we have cells they have small complex nanotech mechanisms. However our cells only communicate back to our brain, with the NT units every 'cell' communicates with every 'cell' around it. Every single one can substitute the functions of another, and they act as a hive-mind being. It makes reprogramming them nearly imposable with out there source code as reprogramming one will just have it destroyed and preprocessed by those around it. It would be like trying to creating healthy cells in a body made of cancer."

Caleb waits till the Security guy is done, talking, then looks at Huoshui, with an arched brow.

Another announcement is made over the intercom "Security has been restored. However a Nanotech Assemblage was found on the station. It has been eliminated however now procedures to insure all traces of the NT are gone must be taken. For more details you can look up NT procedures on the info sphere, Keyword: NT Defense"

Demetria looked to Kairos like a combination of the heights of his wildest fantasies and the depths of his most horrible nightmares. His mind constantly playing out the horrible scenarios involving those sharp teeth...so many teeth.

Knowing he had to remain on the right side of this woman if he was to attain the sample for Senex, against his better judgement he plays along with the beautiful, toothy, fishy creature.

"Right, everyone! Like the lady says, to the security station."

Mirroring and leaning into her as she leaned into Kairos and trying his damnedest at effecting a knowing smirk.

Anja wanted to know more about what was going on. So, after the broadcast she took out her datapad and connected to the info sphere. She then searched for 'NT Defenses'.

Michael left his old friend to the head of security, dropping back to the other people. "I a not sure just what Demetria thinks questioning us will uncover, though indulging the law tends to be a good thing." He glances around the group. "Michael Hadenal bani Verditius by the way. He offers his hand round.

He follows the crowd towards the security station.

She leads them along, the way she moves is like she is swimming through the air, but those still scanning with prime can see she's actually swimming through the ether.

After the warning Peter takes it upon himself to scrutinize his surroundings for errant nanites.

15:52, Today: Dr. Peter Cicatrix rolled 2 successes using 3d10 with the World of Darkness 2nd ed, Specialised system with a target of 4, rerolling 10s. Nanite Check: Life/Mat/Forc 1. 

Even logging in through a data pad there is a good deal of info. The basics is various kinds of scans used for particular behaviors in nanites. It requires lots of scans though and the procedures stay in affect for several weeks after a NT unit is exposed before an all clear can be given.

Huoshui doesn't seem to pleased with the answer, records of what he saw she would have seem more than he did. This place had enough oddities hiding in its darker sectors, he didn't want to have to talk about something he had no idea about.

He pulls his hood over his head and continues following.

He just hoped they wouldn't take his weapons away, they were precious to him. Each had a story and a person behind it.

They are lead to a quite conference room and set down in nice comfortable chairs. There is recording equipment and two quite security officers. "Just tell us what happened in your own words."

"To put it simply my friend, there was an individual in danger and we stepped into assist her."

He pauses as he lowers his hood.

"I don't see what I could have seen what she had not."

He takes a mouthful of the contents of his drinkskin. As he finishes he holds the drink in both hands, looks around the room then at the officer who spoke.

"I heard the alarm and headed over to the promenade, I am a firm believer that it is the duty of those with power to leverage it as needed for the good of society.

"On the way I heard a large explosion, and on arrival I saw a fae I identified as the Chief of Security having trouble with a silver individual later identified as a nanotech construct. She requested aid from those able and after performing a minor divination of Ars Materiae to determine how best to leverage Ars Virium against it while Kairos and Huóshui here moved to support Demetria and this gentleman." He gestured to Caleb. "made use of some device that I am unfamiliar with. I then proceeded to reinforce and focus the ice already deployed by Demetria as I noticed she was having trouble making it stick." He stretched and leaned back.

She nods some and leans into Kairos again. "So I take it none of you have any prior knowledge to what happened?" She look up to a camera for a moment before looking back waiting an answer.

He turns to answer the question.

"I have no prior knowledge, I have not met such a thing before. I have heard a bit here and there about that sort of thing but I have little interest in the mechanical arts."

He leans forward, looks at the camera then back to her.

"Can I ask, what was all of that? I saw you had taken some others in also, are they involved?"

"I missed the whole thing.  I only stopped by to provide medical attention for those who need it," he says with a smile, raising his doctor's bag to emphasize.

Bored with this whole process Kairos takes out a deck of playing cards and performs some elaborate shuffles of the deck.


"I arrived slightly earlier to the scene than Michael but didn't see anything more than he did."

Kairos knows that the predictions from Senex's scanners could be related to what happened today but he wasn't about to inform just anyone who listening for fear of the panic that could result, he would have to wait until he was alone with Demetria to reveal what he saw and what he knew.

Lazily he places down the playing cards in what looks like a game of solitaire.
Occasionally looking up to check on the others being questioned but generally disinterested.

A set of sapdes: the queen, the 10, and the 9.... followed by all four 3's side by side... very odd.

The cards sting a little with a bite of paradox as they are drawn.

Still feeling the sting of paradox the playing cards gave him, Kairos drops his pretense of boredom and carefully inspects each of the others brought in for questioning.

Lost in thought at what the cards layed out in front of him could tell him. He could certainly be wrong but if correct he was reading this right he could have allies against the coming darkness. The edges of his mouth curled into a genuine smile.

Attempting to remain a casual tone talking to Demetria while she leaned into him.
"This group of people, it's special. I can't give any details as for what purpose, but I believe the fates have brought us together. I need to talk to them...in private" He made a deliberate look towards the cameras and security officers in the room.

Demetria huumed some looking over Kairos' shoulder. "The widow; Sorrow, loss of freedom, sad journey; Loss, thwarted plans, bad omen, health problems; Hope"

She leaves for a moment and returns with an actual taro deck. She draws the spades together and lays cads on them.... The wheel, the tower, death.  She slides back into one of the chairs sitting/laying there. "Well that's not encouraging."

Huoshui looks over towards the pair in confusion.

"Got a bad hand?"

She gives a sigh. "I suppose there is no point in hiding it as long as it don't leave this room, it could cause panic, and if what your cards tell you is true maybe your companions can help us.... a true quest for a knight of your valor." She smiles some with a little day-dreamy type look as she looks up at the roof.... she looks over to the camera's and makes a motion for them to cut the recording. "Our systems do have prediction software as little as I care about that, but the Akashic temple has verified the same thing. In a week from now a lot of people are going to die if we can't stop it. Normally with as many corresponding predictions we would evacuate to a skeleton crew, however there is to much political and economical pressure on this auction.... no one wants it delayed or canceled. They just demand we prevent this event. So you can see why I would personally respond to open fire on the station."

Huoshui raises from his seat and moves over to the cards. Leaning over to inspect them.

"Well, that isn't good. Can you read any details into this event?"

And trying to find an accurate possible future past it is near imposable... what ever is going on diverges into to many drastic possible outcomes, all far from each other. In nearly all though a good number of people die."

Noticing the hooded monk read something in the cards as he had.

" Huóshui... Zuìquán. was it?"

Kairos struggled to get his mouth to form the unfamiliar sounds of the little asian man's name.

"You have experiance in the art of divinaton? I see the great darkness ahead but when I look at this group here, I see a great hope. I believe that higher powers guided us together, to this place, this time. Please tell me what you can see."

Kairos concentrates on the question, holding it in his mind, reaches into his runebag and casts a handful of the stones onto the table over the cards.

"I have picked up some divination, but this is a method I am unfamiliar with. I didn't get anymore details than either of you. I am sure someone at the temple can try to look further into this."

The runes are cast and a few of them come together, the merfolk reads them again. "It's a little vague but I believe it says something along the lines of 'The group can brake a chain'"

"I have never liked the idea of looking into the future, I always get the feeling that someone is manipulating things with it. Though in this case their intention seems benevolent." He stroked his cheeks.

"I guess you will be wanting some new stones Kairos?"

"Well this certainly has come as a shock. I hear an alarm, run over to help with the disturbance and now am told large numbers of people are going to die in the near future. I believe this calls for a drink, anyone up for a visit to the pub after we have sorted all this investigation stuff?"

He says as he returns to his seat.

When Huoshui returns to his seat Anja says to him. "What really confuses me about prophesies like this is that just by knowing about it, we've already changed the future."

"But it is up to us now to catch the pebble and thus stop the ripple. Of course it could be completely beyond us to do anything about it, in which case we should sit back and do nothing." Anja replied with a shrug.

"Yes, but what are they doing? What is the event they are causing?"

She blinks some looking at Anja. "They?..... They.... That makes a lot more sense that more than one person is at the heart of this event. It is more likely a few paradoxical events take place at the same time to cause this rather than one of this scale. Perhaps marauders want the stone on auction as well." She rubs her chin some "I don't see how a number of them could be on the station with out us knowing about it though unless some one was harboring them"

Anja shrugged agsin. "Anything's possible a small group could be hiding right under our noses. Maybe we think they're someone else. They could be living in disguise. Who knows?"

"Oh... marauders. Well, that changes everything. I don't know how a group of them be secretive or remain hidden either, but I wouldn't rule it out entirely. I didn't know exactly what we were dealing with. I've heard they are so far off that they are in their own world. Maybe... I don't know... find someone that can scan brainwaves or something."

"I have some ability with the mind, if thats what you mean Anja."

Anja nodded "Um, yes actually. If you mean you can scan thoughts, read minds, that sort of thing."

(oh yes there are news reports and stuff that pops up on the info sphere that may be important or useful from time to time, unless some people are going to make regular checks or have update notices of some kind you will have to check for them.... and no nothing of any importance besides what just happened in them, just letting you know)

Kairos sits in quite contemplative thought.
His contract with charged him with a momumental task of ensuring the safety of their representative while both investigating and stopping the cause of a predicted event that could kill many, many people before their time.

Here he had found a group of people, only just learning of what a possible future could bring but already willing to share the heavy burden with so many lives in the balance.

Kairos was no natural born leader, far from it but here were people ready to rally to his cause.
Lost in thought he vaguely noticed that a couple were already formulating plans but it felt right to ask.
The problem was how to convince them to agree with his solution...

He pulls himself away from Demetria and stands.


"I don't believe I introduced myself earlier, my apologies.
I am Sir Kairos, Knight of King Arthur's Court and of his Round Table. "

He rarely used his full title, if ever, but knew invoking it could provoke the reaction he wanted. Paused for effect and slowly walked round to the head of the table to address those present.

"My current benefactors have employed me to stop this threat that looms on our horizon. The details given to me state that a great many painful deaths will occur in a little over a week's time. An event of an unbelievable amount of death and paradox.

I hold the belief that we, gathered here today truely each one of us has the power to change this dark future, and I ask for your assistance me in the task."

Anja stood up, ready to leave with Huoshui when the knight stood and announced himself. She had not paid attention to him until that point. However, someone claiming to be from King Arthur's court certainly gained her attention. When Sir Kairos finished speaking Anja spoke to him.

"We," she gestured to Huoshui. "Huoshui and I, were about to leave to look for a source of this event. We think we know what will cause it. Do you, Sir Kairos, have any other information about it?"

"well you should probably have a way to keep in touch if your going to split up. I am sure Miss Kensington can provide a base of operations for you" my she's well informed "I have some one in custody you might wish to talk to, however I can't release him until we have verified the ULS warrant on him is falsified."

Peter scratches his head.

"Anja, Huoshui?  I know I haven't been much help here.  All this talk of prophecy and impending doom is making my head spin.  That, or the hangover.  My gut's a bit sour, but if Anja is managing so will I.  Assuming you don't mind me tagging along..."

"Well, I don't know about Huoshui," Anja answered Peter. "But, I certainly don't care. Come along."

Huoshui becomes silent when Kensington is mentioned.

Replying to Anja "I don't mind at all. If we are looking for marauders, it would be beneficial to have more people."

Standing up he says "Well is there anyone else who wishes to join us? As I would like to head off now."

He smiles and places his hands on his hips, faux-heroic.

"Huoshui and I have adventured before.  Perhaps our journey will prove that I'm worthy of instruction in Do.  It would also do me good to walk the wobble out of my legs."

"Indeed we spend an amount of time together. As for the Do I still feel that it is not your way through life, I have the impression you only see it as a martial art. Till this changes I can't consider teaching you. I am sorry, I have not seen anything to tell me otherwise."

He takes out a small photo from his sack and looks at it. As he looks at it his face saddens.

"To give example, I was learning Do for several months before I was show any martial arts moves."

He puts the photo back into his sack. He turns to leave the room.

"What were you shown during those months? If you weren't taught any martial skills in that time, surely you were taught something. What was it?" Anja asked Huoshui.

"I did chores around the temple. Do is a way of life, everything can be Do. I was shown how to do chores around the temple in a way that fit Do. These chores were between lessons. Some of the lessons I still wonder if I have learnt their meaning."

He sighs.

"There were lessons on a large variety of things. Some were taught gardening while others were shown the correct way to keep ones clothes clean. I myself was taught about the stars, herbs for healing and gardening. My teacher would often take us to other islands to test us on what we had learnt."

"But yes a bit later I was taught the martial side of Do.

He pauses and looks at his heavily scarred hands.

"But only after Do was part of my life."

"But that was decades ago, we were hunting marauders?"

"Yes we were," Anja replied as she began to leave the room. "But I was also making a point. I doubt you understood everything, if anything, of Do when you started, so why not start Peter of where you were, you know, at the beginning?"

(it would be hard unless he gets some points in instruction or leadership)

"I might show him somethings, but as I said I may feel different in the future."

Houshui pauses and seems to be focusing.

"I just mean for you to give him a fair shot," Anja told Huoshui. She then noticed him focusing and remained silent.

3 rounds of meditations for huoshui...

Peter shrugs.

"It takes a lifetime.  I'm no no rush.  I've about got the Eight Section Brocade down pat.  Won't stop me from bothering you about it, though," he says reassuringly.

"...and he's gone."

He gives Anja a wink as Huoshui loses himself to silence.

While the others spoke about the virtues of Do, Michael leaned closer to Kairos. "You know I am not a warrior by trade, but you also know that I both count you as a friend, and can not stand by and let this kind of thing happen. You have whatever assistance I can give you." He leaned back, then stood up, rubbing his leg as he leans against the table.

"Sorry, it gets quite stiff If I stay in one position for too long...<DarkBlue>" He sighed. "<DarkBlue>I guess things do move in circles."

Leaving Huoshui to meditate in peace, Anja wandered over to Peter again. "I wish I could do something to help him," she told Peter.

"Ah, I am ever so sorry about that. Well I am back now." he says to Peter.

"Anya this is a fair shot. I do not see how I could be more fair."

He has a look around at everyone.

"Sorry about that I wanted to prepare for my part in all this."

Anja nodded, then asked Huoshui, "Do you need any more preparing or are we ready to start?"

Peter nods approvingly.

"Quite fair, Huoshui.  You already sound like my old instructors!  I'm itching to get started."

He takes on a faux kung fu stance he saw in an old holovid to emphasize.

"I am ready. Unless anyone else needs to prepare something."

Huoshui looks on as Peter performs his stance.

"Well, Thats something."

Anja hefted her bag onto her shoulder showing that she was ready. "I've got most of what I need, the rest I get in the field. I can't help with the scanning though, haven't learned any Noetic Science yet."

"I should be fine handling the looking around. I should be able to see instability and the like."

Looks towards the mermaid.

"Would you mind coming or sending some of your men with us. I would not want to do anything, if we do find someone, that would make it more official no? More authority."

"I can see if some one will go with you on there time off, I can give you much official help. They are pressuring most of my resources into security for the VIPs and the auction."

"No it is fine, I would not want to disturb someones time off."

He Continues for a bit in Chinese.
 He was always told by his master to control his anger better, but it was difficult considering the style of Do he had been taught.

He leaves the room, off to go and see if he can help stop all of what the runes and various vision methods had shown them. He doesn't know what they were supposed to stop, but he knew he couldn't stand around doing nothing.

Unable to help with scanning thoughts, Anja followed Huoshui regardless just in case she could help with something else.

Peter follows, the look on his face a mix of curiosity and worry.

Huoshui leads them down the road, while looking around trying to find anything out of the ordinary.
He draws his hood over his head. Pulls out some Bakkwa out of a pocket and begins to chew on it.
He had been a bit peckish for awhile and this sort of thing was usually frowned upon in most temples, but he wasn't at the temple.
He continued wondering down the path.

sense people are just going to a bar and looking around a little before rest want to just skip to the next morning?

If you want to RP the chatting in the bar or something you can do it in PMs or something and we can speed things up from the holliday brake.

For impending disaster things don't look much different, but knowing the things that could happen the hassle of the crowded station looks different.

Everyone is asked to meet up at a lounge in the hotel at 4pm, they have a good while to do what every they wish before then if they wish to go... depending on wen they wake up.

Huoshui Rises early as he usually does.

This day he chooses to start his day with some weapons training. Finding a safe place in the temple where he can practice.

Going through a routine that takes him through all of his weapons. Going from the fluid movements of the jian, to the harsh slashing of the dao, the formalized movements of the kitana and the hidden movements of the knife.

As always he meditates afterwards on what he and studies his scrolls, while studying the scrolls he takes a simple meal.

After this he makes his way to where Taisho Sōshin's new apprentice is staying, he feels he should at least check on her and see if she knows about the impending disaster. Also to find out what they have plan for the object, He feels rather ill informed about all of this.

Can I use weapons in the chamber?

If so He does that in the chamber, spends time and meditation to really focus on the training in there.

If he can't use the weapons in there He will also spent sometime in the chamber after the weapons practice.

He can use weapons in there.... but it's not suggested as failer can lead to ingery even in the first sequence.

Some weapons more than others.....

Two separate session then. Huoshui goes in for practice with weapons somewhere with space in temple and then practice in the chamber without weapons.

The first twenty minutes you do fine but the last ten your body starts to give out and it's a grouling exspereance, you are only able to get through it on willpower alone.

The exsperance is so wracking that you are inertly invigorated by it it takes a while for your mind and body to recover before you start to fell better, but you only get the mental part of the bost.

Your meditation is not so good the strain is distracting and you can focus, a whole hour wasted away just tring to get your thoughts in order.

It takes another whole hour of meditation to center yourself once more. (regaining your willpower)

So you spend two and a half hours + how ever long you spent weapons training.

However you get 5 quintessence and +1 dice to mental pools for the rest of the day.

Will note btw that Huoshui's ginger dragons have melted into a slimy slop of sugary sweets.

Several fire response drones fly into the hallway spraying fire retardent foam over the walls.

Your able to get on your feet before another pipe bomb is seen as the flames part twisting around it as it flies through the dibree, fallen pipes and shrapnel flying out of it's away.

Kairos and Huoshui are left with little time to respond as they have to decide to try and use there abilities to stop the bomb, knock it away, or try and get themselves out of the blast zone before it goes off.

It seams this guy wasn't trying to get away after all.

Isn't much comfort with an impending second explosion.
