Re: CHAPTER 1: Kairos

You feel a light rumble and the lights flicker. Then you hear the people in the security station going crazy and them talking about an explosion on this floor some where. And by the detection a small squad of security runs off in you can guess it's where they are going.

Re: CHAPTER 1: Kairos

If they're sending backup then there was a serious threat in the clinic. That was all the excuse he needed.

Kairos attempts to make a quick exit, slipping into the crowd to follow after the security team.

Re: CHAPTER 1: Kairos

The clinic wasn't to far away. There was smoke filling the front office, and oddly it was swirling around and appeared to be gathering up, but some of it was escaping into the promenade. The group of guards gathered and then split up some staying at the front, while the rest ran down the promenade till they reached a corridor, apparently heading to get behind the building.

Re: CHAPTER 1: Kairos

Kairos stays at the front looking for the fae.

Walking into the clinic reaches a hand into the rune pouch on his belt and draws runes for true vision, energy and flow. Then closes his eyes and concentrates on them before opening his eyes again.

Prime 1  - detect quintessence
(See through the smoke to see a magical creature like a fae, magic users and magical effects)

Re: CHAPTER 1: Kairos

Having seen the way Fae magic moves paterns before you recognize the wind gathering the smoke to clear things out as a Fae. You also see three mages and two fully mechanical paterns, one is small and the other is humanoid.

Two are in the back near a resent use of magic, likely the cause of the eplossion from the way things look. They have the smaller mechanical unit near them... the other mage is with the larger one and between the Fae and the others. You can also see the free quintessence dispersing from a body of a dead mage near the two in the back. It's hard to tell exactly whats going on but there is obviously a conflict of some sort going on.

Re: CHAPTER 1: Kairos

One of the security agents looks to him "please stand back and -" He is interrupted as the smoke explodes into a burst of black snow and frigid air that blows out of the shop and covers the windows as well as most of the inside. The moment the air clears a blast of energy bursts through the room, vaporizes the glass, and shots across the promenade before impacting into a stall selling vegetables from Mars. The explosion might as well have been from an howitzer, bits of flaming wood and fruit rain down all over the place and there is a good bit of damage to the shop behind it. "- HOLY HELL."

You can't see much from this far away and with the raining glass, glare of the beam, and all the snow. But it seams there is a blue skinned mermaid swimming through the air to dodge the blast in there.... that or your hallucinating.

Over the security mans intercom you hear woman's voice bark orders. "We have an awakened cyborg and a H.I.T. Mark VI, stay back... I repeat stay back. There are two suspects fleeing though a hole blasted to the next hall over, capture for questioning."

(VERY good forces roll... very very good.... 21 dice of damage added onto the guns normal blast o.o  one over heated or broken gun but holly hell)

A warning coming up over the intercom. "There is a minor security breach on the promenade, for your own safety please stay inside and avoid the promenade till further notice"

(you can sense the presence of three humanoid pasterns inside as you run up, one is not human at all, another barely any flesh and bone at all he/she must be one must be mostly cyborg there is no other way they can have that little flesh on them and be alive... the the other pastern isn't alive at all, is moving, and has no free quintessences in it at all it acutely seams to be keeping free quintessence out of it)

Re: CHAPTER 1: Kairos

Waiting for  the falling debris to clear the air, Kairos acknowledges the arrival of the two mages. The insight granted by his runecasting allowing him to see the additional quintessence contained within their patterns. Unless they happen to be hiding it

But he pays them no further attention and ventures forward to see what is left of the clinic and those caught up in the confrontation. Furthermore he has to know if the mermaid he saw was real or he finally started to lose his grasp on reality.

Re: CHAPTER 1: Kairos

Kairos see's the same thing, that the one creature is preventing free quintessence from clinging to it's pattern.

As the snow burst clears a blue flying body with a fish leg is defiantly in there. It darts in the detection of the other two making a motion with the Trident, a wave of harsh wind blowing into the hallway covering everything in ice.

The mage figure brakes free of the ice slowly, staggering back. While the ice of the other figure shatters at the chest as a long blade of metal spears out of the ice at the Fae. She gracefully dodges, swimming a circle around the blade and cutting through it with the trident.

The blade explodes into a shower of metal particles that flow like water back into the ice as it brakes apart revealing a humanoid that appears to be made of liquid metal. Behold the Nanotech Assembalge, NT-1.

Re: CHAPTER 1: Kairos

Waking up to a brand new day you find a message for you to meet up with everyone at 4pm at a hotel. Things are just as hectic as they were before the explosion, part of the promenade is closed off as they scan for the N-1, but other than that and the crowd the auction has drawn nothing seams all that out of ordinary.

You do have a rather interesting message though.

Dear Valued Customer,

We received word from one of our many freelancers that you are from Europe, this is quite interesting to us and could make both of us money. If you would be willing to submit memory scans of any unusual creatures, lifeforms, monsters, items, artifacts, locations, or the like you have encountered we would be willing to give you a fair compensation for anything that we use. As well as being paid any time we use one of your scans for making avatars, items, or to formatting a sector. We are looking for anything are designers haven't seen before and are willing to pay for information on the behavior and visuals of anything out of the ordinary. If your submission is used as inspiration you will receive modest credit and credits. Should your submission be used as a base then you will be credited in the products description and you will receive a much higher commission. If you are interested or would like more information please contact me.

Re: CHAPTER 1: Kairos

After meditating for some time tring to contact the two ravens, after almost an hour of lowering the horizens level another hour passes with nothing. Then your meditation is interupted by the distant echo's of laughter bleeding through from the spirit realms.
Steven Roast says
Kairos focuses on the direction the sound came from, hoping to find the source.
Azraile Kiras says
It seams to be shifting some and fades, then several black feathers fly from behind you... one ebeding it'self in your rear (no damage but owch) and the others flying over the candles putting them out. There a few more chuckles after that.
Steven Roast says
Angered at being made a fool of, he raises his voice
"Do I provide you with amusement, bird!?"
Azraile Kiras says
There is some laughter and the air ripples distorting and with a pop from behind you, the form of a black bird with the shape of a man behind you just barly made out in the darkness. "Why yes sure you do, I once watched a wolf howl to the heavens to think to call on a totem for a personal one on one chat.... but calling on the right and servents of gods that fade into the past... oh no no no...
thats a new one!"
Steven Roast says
"I am but a lowly, humble servant of the gods myself. "

Kairos bows deeply and down to one knee.

"I seek assistance in my current trials for it is a task beyond anything I could face alone."
Azraile Kiras says
He luaghs "so is some one bowing to me... damn no kidding bud" shaking his head and moving around the room checking things out. "You would not beleave some of the things people whisper about here and there,,,, nightarish banes, bane hatcheries on ships, rumors of an earthbound, so many things that can go wrong, and then there is a curruted fera of a race with so few numbers! Not that we are much
any better mind you, I mean those buzzards are a nightmare I till you. But here you are in all the choas tring to call to being across the raging gauntlent of the earth? hehe so many little intresting things going on here."
(yes, these guys talk a lot)
Steven Roast says
"Evidently you see so far and much of this world, I can understand why woden employed you to circle midgard and gather information."

Kairos hopes to play on the bird's nature and keep it talking.

"There is indeed many forces at work, the fragment of The Red Star has drawn a great number who seek it's power, I have seen that much myself."
Azraile Kiras says
Glances over stoping a moment "ME?" he has a good hard laugh at that. "oh dear gods no, no no no, not me...  you have a poor chance of getting a hold of them... least not with out something VERY shiny or the eye of some old old old critter thats seen an awfull lot of interesting things.. mm that would be nice wouldn't it" Speaking of something shiny you notice the gold coins you had laied out are
gone now....  "Red sun! ha! You keep up on your history don't you. Yes that thing is quite the problem isn't it... atracts all sorts of nasty things, but what of the wyrms grater spawn don't? I remember stories out people tring to free the wyrm what when the weaver was killed... oie what a mess that was.... poor dumb blockes, help the mind before the body!"
(what do you exspect they are gold =p)
Steven Roast says
Spying an opportunity

"Perhaps I can offer you a fair trade, in exchange for your help in ending these current troubles."
Azraile Kiras says
"HELP?!?" he luaghs "Oh no good sir we are not made to help... just watch... and chatter about what we see.... some times they had us take things that people arn't spoce to have, but that was a long long time ago war tends to change the way things work... but no we watch and watch and watch. We don't stick our noses- er beaks out for just anyone you know. You want help you are better off calling
on those old birds, they like to peck and claw at things now and agian."
Steven Roast says
"I have no need for assistance in combat at present but I thank you for your suggestion. Presently I seek knowledge, knowledge that you above all others can collect. A close ally of mine has taught me that in the right hands knowledge can be the most powerful force of all. Watching is a very important task."

Kairos prays that the flattery isn't too over the top for the bird man.
"I'd offer much to gain information on my enemies."
Azraile Kiras says
"Well thats a start... nice shiny trinkets or an eye or two will catch a birds attention thats for sure. But I plan on keeping my distance from this mess. There roumors whispered about between the spirits that a grate and mighty best as returned.... returned or awoken... or hell if i know... add to that talk of all the other things. I want to watch from a distance. Now if you want help
finding something not so flesh and oh so imptantly of bood pokeing around for you I can help. Some servent of raven or one of those two old birds you were praying too.... that can be done. But you have to have an nice little offering for them." He's fiddling with his hands some, moving the coins about, seams he don't like holding them to long and playing hot pottato with them... the seam to have
burnt a little at some of his feathers.
Steven Roast says
Kairos extends a hand to take the coins back. Without saying a word.
Azraile Kiras says
(you tring to grab them or just holding your hands out like a disapointed parent? lol)
Steven Roast says
(Like a disapointed parent seeing a child with singed fingertips after being caught playing with matches.)
Azraile Kiras says
After chattering more about nothing all that imprtant he looks "what?"... he looks at your gester and where you looking "what?!?!?".... "OH FINE... shit stings like the dickings anyway" he throws you the coins "It's just there... not normal.. something speshal about them you know." He huffs some "If you want help you better find something nice... for them and me"
Steven Roast says
"You mentioned eyes and trinkets, I'll see what I can find"
Azraile Kiras says
He nods "yes... eyes remember what they see you know"
Steven Roast says
Kairos recalls his part in the ritual performed on the body of the akashic temple elder to see what he saw before he died. Kairos knew all too well how true the bird's words are.
He nods in confirmation
Azraile Kiras says
He sighs some looking at the coins and then shifts into the shape of a raven and flys into your bathroom mirror, the surface of the mirror rippling some when he flies through it.
Steven Roast says
What an odd creature.

Re: CHAPTER 1: Kairos

Being that Kairos has gotten rather behind other people postings. I'll make this post... it's about an hour to get over his hangover and get to the prominade to be caught up with the time of the other players are on)

The already splitting head of the slumbering knight is taxed more as he wakes to the loud sound echoing through the halls, and from the computer terminal in his room. <This is an evacuation announcement, the final set of ships to take civilian personal off the ship will be leaving in two hours. I repeat, you have two hours to be at the main docks for boarding of the civilian evacuation ships.>

The room was a little bit of a mess. His repaired and upgraded armor was there though, as was most of what he requested. With an addition, a cup of bitter nasty smelling tea with a note that it's for the headache and from Huoshui.

Re: CHAPTER 1: Kairos

Painfully feeling the agony of his hangover, his bruising to both body and ego. The shock of the message from the alarms is sobering enough to get him to his feet.

Well rehearsed muscle memory kicks in as he scrambles and fumbles his way into his refurbished suit of armour, it felt different to what he was used to but not enough to slow him down.

Next came his equipment, collecting together everything he wanted.

Then he makes a silent prayer to the all-father before picking up the tea made by Huoshui. He  considers if the small monk was angry at him while he was brewing the contents but the headache pounds in his head, pushes aside any more time waiting and he gulps down the foul tea in one go.

Instantly feeling the effects, his worries are for naught, already feeling rejuvenated.

Kairos arms himself and simultaneously opens his comms and datapad to get himself up to speed on what he missed while unconscious.

Kairos is informed that the 'team' is up on the promenade helping to maintain order. There have been a few fights, and there having some problems getting some people to evacuate. Also there is the matter of a ship that seams to be docked but don't seam to actually be there, there preparing a partial bombardment to see if there is a cloaked ship.
