Karios' merits/background protect him from the humiliation of that particular botch.

As they leave to head to the meeting Kairos notices something odd. A cloaked figure outside the temple, he's blended in with the crowd but you saw him walking along near by as you left the hotel ... and outside the hotel the night before... was this person following them? He wasn't sure but it looked like the guy from the security office too.....

Hushui's humiliation continues though, as when he turns to see what has drawn Kairos' attention he turns to quickly and held his staff close, in his drukenness he smacks himself quite hard in the left eye.

3 bashing damage done, all but 1 soaked though. Still that's enough to have given himself a black eye.

Huoshui stops and rubs his eye. Forgot he was holding it, need to get used to it.

Can put some ice on it later...

Solan stops and sees that he is spotted turns to run..

He couldn't let these men catch him, he had valuable information that if they caught him would be very usefull for them..

Seeing them, he turns and began to run, hoping he could lose them in the crowd..

Innocent people don't run away, Kairos' suspicions were confirmed.

He points out the cloaked figure to Huoshui

"I've seen him before, I think he's been following me."

Trying not to lose sight of his target, Kairos chases after him through the crowds.

Huoshui nods to Kairos and joins in the chase.

Huoshui's Do abilities let him jump/run along walls to bypass some of the crowd that puts him ahead of Kairos some who has to find away around, or slowed down going through the crowd.

Huoshui is able to gain some ground by Solan's got quite the lead and there is a danger of losing sight of him in corridors or the crowd if they don't close some space fast.

Kairos regrets having to ask for help but the cloaked figure is far too fast for him to keep up with, his speed is phenomenal.
He attempts to contact Demetria and the security forces.

Solan snarls, he continued to run..Knowing that he couldn't let the men catch him..

While running above the crowd Huoshui uses his glove to form a shuriken.

When he has something solid under his foot he takes the shot.

Continues to chase him down above the crowds. Keeping to higher ground to give better view of the person.

The bolt of chi from the glove brakes a large sign making it fall directly into solan's path directly in time for him to run into it.

However his keen senses and quick reactions are enough that he stops just before face planting into it, and after only a short stop, vaults over it and keeps going, but not before firing something off at huoshui.

Nothing is seen fired at them however huoshui is hit by a sudden incress in gravity around him during a jump. It brings his Plum Flower Blossom to a rapid end. Thankfully for Huoshui his training in the chamber prepared him for such, it defiantly caught him off guard here, but the training keep him from being hurt. Instead he landed with a pained grunt on his hands and knees and is able to craw/roll out of the gravity field unharmed.

It let Solan get out of sight as he turns down a narrow side passage.

Kairos catches up to huoshui provided he can guess where the field is and avoid it.

In response to Kairos on the communicator: <I can't do much unless he's braking a crime however I will send a group down there, if this is the same guy as before I have a felling he will do something rash>

Huoshui leaps to his feet and runs towards the passage. Stopping before it to have a quick peek round, checking for anything that would cause him danger.

He would have to go back and apologise for the sign after the cloaked figure was dealt with.

Catching up Kairos catches his breath and turns, charging into the narrow passageway ahead of Huoshui.

Red lights flash through the station.

Warning: explosive device detected.

The warning came a little to late, to rushed to catch up with Solan they didn't see the pipe bomb slid into some pipes in the wall untill it was to late, and the station was rocked by the explosion that followed.

Huoshui's reactions and training and staff let him deflect almost all of the shrapnel however the wall of flame that bellowed down the inclosed space engulfed both of them.

When the smoke clears huoshui is on his knees crippled, burnt, and mostly naked.

Kairos was protected by Huoshui and his armor mostly but was still hurt rather baddy.

Huoshui takes 5 aggravated damage in burns.

Kairos takes 3 aggravated damage.

Between the black eye and massive burns it's only Huoshui's mastery of do that lets him move and keep his mind focused.

Kairos is injured and at a -1 dice penalty. However Huoshui is Crippled and at a -5 dice penalty.

Huoshui on his knees in unimaginable pain starts to speak in a strange language, his voice strained but focused.

With most of his clothing now burnt more of the tattoos that covers his torso can be seen, these start to glow faintly and one could be mistaken in thinking some were moving.

(made some wrong rolls just noticed some things like focus used that's not needed and the like... sorry for the delay)

A combination of Tumo and his knowledge of burns let's huoshui heal himself. Reducing the severity of the burns.

Heals 3 agg with first round of healing. Reducing him to 3 agg and wounded -2 penalty.

(will hold off on the other rounds of healing depending on what happens.)

Kairos removes as much of the hot metal armour as he is able.

There could be more of those bombs ahead, he couldn't risk abandoning Huoshui just to endanger innocent lives in an attempted pursuit of the cloaked man.

Coughing the smoke out of his lungs Kairos looks around for the monk who undoubtedly saved him from further injury.

"Huoshui!? We need to evacuate the area! We have no idea if there's any more of those bombs up ahead. Think you can walk?"

Kairos uses his knife to cut away any loose clothing near the burns not stuck to his skin.

He struggles to get up but with the help of his staff he is able. Grabs the remains of his stuff. Tying them ,with the remains of his belt, to his staff.

He didn't fear another explosion, he believed the individual wanted to escape but it was for the best to try and leave the scene.

While limping away from the explosion site, he was started to think someone somewhere hated him, because it wasn't exactly his day today.

OK, resting you hear people talking about things. It seams the mermaid found the reality bomb the ship had was a fake and they are being taken custity of... you can see a few govermental ships around it and there towing it down to the moons gate. Also it some of the people that work on the station seam rather sure they will be evacuating least part of the station now.

Huoshui rises from a dream which replayed the stranger parts of the day. He woke up feeling rather strange, he felt a pride in the lives they had managed to save also that they had stopped a dangerous criminal. Pride wasn't something he was particularly used to, it was something the monks had tried to down play when he was at the monastery.
None the less he woke up with more enthusiasm than normal. Today was going to be a good one.
He gets dressed into his casual cloths, simple brown cloth. He takes breakfast in the hall with the others, looking to have some fish. The images of the middle kingdom the dragon showed him, reminded him of home. So fish was in order.
He re-organizes his things, making note of what he had left and reminded that he might want to see about collecting his weapons.
A sudden thought arises, the blood ice, he would have to return it. Also it wouldn't hurt to ask her if she wouldn't mind teaching him a bit about their kind, the beast they battled seemed to be similar.
First he would have to warm up for the day. He finishes his breakfast and makes his way to the chamber...

It was grolling  work and you have to spend 2 willpower points to keep from passing out from the strain but you just barely manage to last through the 3 cycles.

you still get the bonus dice for physical and mental rolls, however you only get 1 quintessence and your so tired when your done you need some one to carry you out. It takes about a hour before you start feeling good again.

Huoshui is thrown back by this. Shakes it off and tries to ignore the last statement for a bit. "What can you have to do here that is so important that it could endanger your life? After the VIPs have been evacuated there is going to be a mass evacuation. This is a grave situation, you have seen the spirits that flock around this station."

"I do, I wish to save as many lives as I can. Even if it seems futile, I must give every soul a chance. If I ever come to admit that a life or soul cannot be saved that is the day I wish to pass on to the next life, for that is the day I have truly given up. I do not wish to witness death, if death occurs it shall be recorded but any deaths I shall witness will be while trying to save that life or others. Death is but a part of the wheel we should not fear it, what we should fear is the ones who cause death on others."

"I pray our paths cross on better terms." He bows and makes his way. Listens in a bit into the comm, and heads off in any old direction, he has no where to go now in particular.

She remains looking out into the stars for a moment and then walks into the church.

"Well that could have gone worse." He mutters to himself as he walks off towards the nearest bar. Stopping and turning to head back to the temple realising he has no money. The one day he could do with a drink the most and he hasn't any money.

Sometime after Kairos' ritual.

Kairos and Huoshui enter a bar. Kairos no longer clad in the knightly armour, he has discarded this in exchange for smart suit, red tie on white shirt, with his trusty sword as always at his side. Huoshui had changed into a brown baggy shirt and trousers a vast difference from the more formal orange or white Do robes he has been seen in the last few days. With his katana sheathed held in his left hand, walks into the bar alongside Kairos.

The two of them walk towards the bar staff, both of them armed and looking somewhat ready for battle because of this no one really gives them any trouble. They order their drinks and open a tab.

They take a seat, Huoshui rests his sword on the table, Kairos goes over and changes the music from space-step to more classical playlist.

They spend some time discussing the current situation, their new allies and about things to come.

Huoshui finishes his glass “You openly used magic while we were chasing solan. With the explosion, the fire after you stopped it.” pours more of his drink. “Back on Earth I hear that ... paradox isn’t as much of a problem in some regions, would this be why you and that friend of yours,” He pauses “create such overly flashy displays.”
Kairos: “Magic is not something to hide, it is a part of who we are. Our tools. Our Gifts.” He waves for the bar staff to serve them more alcohol.
Huoshui: “From who?” He asks as he pours more out for the both of them.
Kairos: “Why the gods!” He takes large swig from his mug.
Huoshui: “The gods give you your power?”
Kairos: “The gods have a plan for me. I prayed for their protection and it was granted. This is how the flames were stopped, by the will of the gods.” Holding his hand to his chest.
Huoshui is thrown by this, he has been taught that it is his will and inner strength exerted into the world. Not wanting to offend, he tries to find common ground. “Well I have learn from lessons left by uh... gods. My Drunken boxing has eight forms, one for each of the drunken immortals. Is there a particular set of gods or god to hail to?”
“Tyr is the one I find myself following the most. The Norse gods have guided me through life and have given me great strength in times of need, I could ask for no more.”

They both take a few more of their chosen poison.

“With your patron being of such high status, would it not be your goal to also ascend to that of a god?” Huoshui questions Kairos. “A very noble goal, to stay and help mortals.”
Kairos is somewhat thrown back by this question, the ascension thing had never been something that he had really considered. Sipping his beer as he contemplates his  the avatar, ascension and what godhood is.

“What do you know about non-earth life then? I myself was raised on an Island on Ganymede. Have you ever visited a moon or even a planet other than Earth?”
“Back on earth I was a knight of Britain. Fought to protect her. Now I work for whomever has a causes I am willing to back and can afford me.”
“Who taught you your arts? What schools have you trained under?”
“I have trained under his majesty’ forces, the Aided, celtic mystics and a Viking Gallowsmen. The sphere of entropy by my first guru, I knew him in my previous life as my drill instructor. From there I went on seeking out more gurus to train me.”
Having discarded his name and officially discarding his former life, he tells his story. “As I said I was born on Ganymede, I lived in a village on an Island owned by the local lord. I trained at the temple there, the monks brought me up from child till a time when my master came to our town. He said he saw something in me and went on to further teach me the ways of the Akashic Brotherhood. I cannot say I have ever had such hardships as yourself, I have lived the life of a monk and a practitioner of Do. Learning from anyone who will teach me, I have even been lucky enough to be welcomed into the Wu Lung.” He takes another swig and continues. “As per tradition when joining the temple, the old name was discarded. Not until my master allowed me to travel alone was a title and name given. I do go back to the island now and then, it is a nice place to meditate and document what I have learnt.”

Some more time and drinking.

“I have to think that karma was what hit us when chasing solan. I had recently thought more of myself than the temple that had been putting me up. I have learnt my lesson, the Windhorse’s lessons are always harsh.“ He says with some regret. Sipping at his drink.
“Karma is simply a name for the way in which entropy keeps people's lives in balance. You do bad things, bad things happen to you. Do good things, get good things. Entropy is fate and cannot be stopped.“
“Entropy however has been weakened. It is not as strong as it once was.
its direction is too focused and it sometimes misses things.”
“Karma also follows the laws of entropy, all things do. People generate karma.”
“But when one gets closer to the whole and the wheel. Entropy seems to ignore them or lose them for the big picture. It appears that I for one have been lost in the larger picture, I have been absorbing entropy on a very small scale. Be it a blessing of the phoenix or a mistake of the wyrm, either way I welcome it.”
"It won't last forever, eventually fate will catch up with you. You can only escape the gaze of the sisters of fate for so long, she will find you, she always does and one day your thread will be cut. It has to be so. All threads must be eventually cut and rewound so that the tapestry can remain strong”
"I will use this time the phoenix has given me and will obtain the goal of all akashic." he swirls the drink in his glass around.
Kairos is confused by this and just looks at the monk.
"Escape and become one with the wheel. Ascension."
“become one with the wheel?”
"What I guess you may call godhood, and something beyond even that. Similar if not the same state that buddha attained. When we truly escape the cycle of death and rebirth."
“Reincarnation, the soul following the wheel. I have not thought of it for myself. My duty in this life is to help those who need it. Be that by the subtle manipulation of the threads of fate, or with the good death, removing those who deserve it, from the wheel who or who would cause it to suffer.”

While discussing fortune and karma, the music changes to O Fortuna. This is the last straw for a group of people in the table opposite.
“Thats it! I have had enough of this shit.” Rises from his chair and stands behind Kairos, “What you doing putting this old shit on, we are just trying to relax. Its our last evenin’ here damn it.”
One of his friends stands up. “You ain’t from here. Just move along, I mean ye got to go by tomorrow anyway. So why not fuck off now.”
A third friend rises and puts his hand on the back of Kairos’ chair. “Just get outta here and all will be cool.” In his other hand he holding a large knife.
Huoshui with the normal calm optimism tried to cool things down. “We are here for a calm drink. I am sorry if we have offended. I do not wish to cause annoyance.” Placing both his hands flat on the table. Making himself look as unthreatening as possible.
“You will not frighten us. Leave now and we can all walk out of here.” He rises from his chair standing over one of the men, the man is shocked and thrown back a bit.

The man looks up at Kairos, and with a little smirk on his face takes a swing at him. It hits Kairos in the chest, doing minimal damage Kairos only smirks back. Taking his initiative he retaliates with a head butt. The thug stumbles back with a bloodied nose, Huoshui stands up and stands beside Kairos. “We can still walk away from this.”
The thugs take no notice of this and all advance on Kairos. The one with the bloody nose take a step back however to stop the bleeding. The other two go to punch Kairos.
However Kairos gets the jump on one of them and connects a punch to the thug’s head, this knocks him out in one hit, throwing the man back and breaking a table. The other thug manages to swing with the knife while Kairos is distracted but however is blocked and disarmed by Huoshui, who catches the thug by the wrist before it reaches Kairos. Giving Kairos time to turn round, land a knee blow into the stomach, winding him. Falling to the floor Huoshui throws the knife next to him.
As the last recovers from the head butt he has just enough time to see his two friends collapsed around him before he too his knocked out by the fist of the knight.

”This has reminded me never said I was sorry that against the beast, I did not fight.” Huoshui’s voice has some regret to it, “The ways I have been taught are that of peace and self defence. I do not wish to test the limits of those but I am glad that we were able to save those we did. I hope in future that I will be able to play more of a role.”

Kairos still breathing heavily, adrenaline still pumping in his system. “Forget the fight, I saw your face when Luxuria was on the ground burning. Watching her burn, letting her master torture her. Your hesitation caused her more pain than was needed, even an enemy deserves more respect.”
Trying to remain calm in the face of his allies rage. “It is the place of a Euthanatoi to do such things. It is not my place play judge. If you weren’t there then maybe I would have to have darkened my soul with such an act.”
His blood still boiling “Our place! It would have been the noble thing to do. To show your enemy a final act of mercy,  of compassion.” Pointing towards the monk and then to himself.  “You NEED people like me to do the things you won't dirty your hands with. That only euthanatos have the conviction to do what needs to be done to fix things. On our own, we darken OUR souls because it HAS to be done, to protect the likes of you from having to.” Seeing his monk ally only stand there and stare at him pushes him over the edge.

Kairos in his anger towards Huoshui and the Akashic, throws a haymaker. Huoshui in reponse hold his palm out, as it connects he is forced back a bit and the sheer force of the blow can be seen by force of wind that pushes past him but he remains unharmed.
Kairos with rage still burning goes in for a left jab trying to take huoshui off guard, Huoshui cannot negate all of the force of this latest furious assault. Instead he uses Jou Chuan to redirect the force in a direction he chooses, this causes Kairos to fall to the ground.

While standing over Kairos, He says with some sorrow. “I had tried to counter what was hurting her, I put my everything into stopping the dark powers flowing through. Had that even crossed your mind. I may not have been able to put her to the “good death” but I tried to help her in everyway I could.”

Huoshui picking up his katana, goes up to the bar one last time. Slurring his speech he asks “I would like few bottles of chi laced wine.” He takes the bottles and ties them together with a bit of rope he had on his belt. “Thank you for your excellent service. Good luck with your evacuations.” while Huoshui does this Kairos apologizes to the barmen for the damages, paying for them and their tab.

The two leave silently, their walk is less stable than they entered.
