Re: Interlude 1 - The Waking God

(lol, the arrow dose a good 20 damage flying through things in it's way, and 14 to the hull/surface of the world..... so not too impressive, but there is the sort of blast akin to a few hand grenades going off when it hits.)

The dragon sadly will not stir, the sword imparts the dragon will need at least a week or two to rest and would not have the power to project into weapons when it did for some time. His dance seams to entrance a few spiders with the static nature in it but most attack. Over the next half minute he kills eight of the spiders and nearly 30 of the genomes, the flurry of four attacks a round is a bit much for them to be able to get through... some do but a force knocks them away. By the time she fired though the monks legs where cut to ribbons with wounds from kicking at the genomes... his foot ware having been quickly torn to shreds.

Left leg 3 agg  -1 dice to related rolls
right leg 4 agg  -1 dice to related rolls
Overall health Injured -1

The arrow struck and Amp collapsed to the floor, the creatures stalling for a moment before deciding the cloud of genomes and the ship was not worth it and chased after the arrow.

Amp Overall health Incapacitated / near critical but stabilizing

Bellow the arrow dose as it was suppose to, wild plant life was surging over the planet in masive vines that were wider then the Marauders Cruiser.

Re: Interlude 1 - The Waking God

Raven had gotten his crew through the outer web, past the strands, and in place for the package to be delivered while managing to find some unexpected help in the process. They were still alive and breathing, so he knew everyone had played their part and well. Now it was the fourth quarter, and this the final play; he fervently hoped his ass had one more miracle jammed up it...

"Revvin' up your engine
Listen to her howlin' roar
Metal under tension
Beggin' you to touch and go"

Raven closed one open hand into a fist, one of the engines coming to full life as he did so.

"Headin' into twilight
Spreadin' out her wings tonight
She got you jumpin' off the track
And shovin' into overdrive"

He folded five more fingers over a second open palm, the second machine roused to full wakefulness.

"You'll never say hello to you
Until you get it on the red line overload
You'll never know what you can do
UNTIL YOU GET IT UP AS HIGH AS YOU CAN GO!"

Both remaining arms, those in contact with the glowing orbs used for navigation, were shoved forward simultaneously. To Lee, the bird was simply sitting in his seat, to crew Luci was moving forward; through a connection provided by his suit, however, Miller and the craft were mixed together in a furious dance as he pumped all of the power he had and that all he'd be given, every speck of it into the engines. He was linked, to the engines and the ship itself; he felt not only the drives howling in a deafening roar, but himself moving through space. He was Luci, and her him in a way he'd never imagined possible. Perhaps he wouldn't make it out of the wall rapidly closing, or the strain would finally be too much for his drug abused body, but if he died he couldn't deny that he had now truly lived.

Re: Interlude 1 - The Waking God

Develiana and Osman didn't have much a view but they could see the mountnious vines growing tairing though webs and digging into the planet.... some of them looked rather much like the dragons made of thorns and brambles and covered in velvetly black blooms that seamed to glow with a strange iridescence (think black light)... they didn't get to see the view at the end of the hall long though as the ship weaved and wove diving under a vine or two and behind some webs as it turned around.

Raven and Huoshui had a better view from there ports as Raven dodged the vines and webs and twisted about. The engines and the newly joined drives roaring to life as they folded space, spirit, and fate itself  and wrapped them around ship in a building energy to cut through the wall that sectioned of this realm from the rest of reality.

One thing these people saw though was that the maurader ships showed no sign of following them or withdrawing, even as one of them got tangled up in the growing vines. Instead they contintued to fire on the planet and had started to feed power from there ships into the plants. Seams Amp's fears were right.

But the spirits seamed more interested in them and the planets now. The sevarity of the situation and the fact they had already done the damage kinda made them unimportant now... the fact they had there own squad of attack genome protecting them helped too!

Overall they where speeding there way out with the would be gods perfect little realm coming apart around it, and while they where hard to see.... there where visible sides to it now, just barely showing up on the monitor, and the scanners where saying the more damage the vines did the less sides the surface had.

Even better the after shocks of the reality bomb were calming making it smother sailing... the only bad things seamed that the Maurauders where going down with the ship and far ahead there was no sign of Capadocian ship.... or rubble being wove into the pattern, so there 'friends' ran and didn't hold the door open on there way out.... how nice.

Shock crosses the girls face as the engines roar to life, her mind absorbed in her task. Changing gears inks checks on the situation through her goggles. The child then tries to keep an eye on the systems to make sure the strain won't cause anything to fall apart she can keep together.

A grim smile muttering, "I guess there is unlikely to be a better time or reason to fly it like you stole it."

Re: Interlude 1 - The Waking God

<Sorry my friend.> The monk apologises for trying to stir the dragon too soon, all was well however at least in the grandest of stages. The enemy chasing the arrow in a futile attempt to stop it, sheathing his sword and leaning on his staff the monk hobbled towards Amp as she lay on the floor. Her all given to the attack, her chi, will and everything leaving her near dead. The monk had to aid her before even thinking of himself, even with the healing abilities the fera had naturally his soul would not allow it to not help someone in need before him.

Slowly and carefully making his way to her, an eye at the entrance their foes had made in the ship, watching the results of their effort. Smiling weakly, watching the weapon he'd helped forge blossom into something beautiful. Life found a way, seemingly decimating the planet. <Look my friends, we have done it.> Who he spoke to he was not sure, his voice weak. The spirits at his side, Amp or the crew as a whole even he didn't know.

Kneeling to the ground by Amp, falling almost as he took his weight to his staff. His own pains could wait, as he lay his hands over the fallen Fera Amp. <Rest now daughter of Lady Luna and Lord Tiger. You have earnt it.> From here he began to whisper in Kaja, focusing his chi through the words and his palms. His magics had brought pain but now they would relieve it.

Re: Interlude 1 - The Waking God

The gift of there power, the power of the flower, and even the life from Amps infernal womb would die out over time... entropy gnawing away at the chaos and giving way to the order that would come. For now though, even with an army tarring at it, cutting it away, pulling roots free, and various attempts to stop it... the plant not only was thriving but uncontrollably spreading. It may not last, but it would do the damage it was meant to do and then some from the looks of it... the Marauders where sacrificing them selves to give the plant more power and time to grow wildly while doing there own kinds of destruction, many taking things so far that even they (and much around them) where consumed by paradox.

As the monk hobbled over to his friend and the wall of the room closed off, a shock hit him like a wave of force echoing up from the planet... it was enough to knock him off his balance as an intense burning and the pain of tearing flesh ripped along his back. He could hear the slumbering dragon's pain in it's sleep, but soon that was cut off as his primal marks subsided, fading back over his body till they dissipated completely.

Houshi gains 3 paradox for a total of 6... backlash occurs.

Houshi takes 5 points of paradox damage, Houshui as an effective Arete of 0, an effective Aracane of 0, and effective Avatar of 0, and an effective Past Lives of 0.

Houshi's temporary paradox is reduced to 1.

back(torso) 5 agg Mauled -2

Over the next few hours Osman's sight becomes awash in decay, everything he sees is rotting and dying... or well already dead, he can see the spirits of the dead and even the living look like they are rotting away. He basically see's things the way a wraith would.

Yah everyone got some paradox, dynamic magic is vulgar in that ream.... now you know... and knowing is *ducks a boot flung his way and runs*

Re: Interlude 1 - The Waking God

Hunching over in pain as he was trying to aid his injured ally, feeling a blast of paradox run through him. The voices, the senses and feelings of lives past fade. Gone was the sense of the tapestry from his being, emptied and hollow. The monk felt as nothing, unable to remember a time he had felt this incomplete. A tear ran down his cheek, marking down his face through all the dirt and grim from the battle.

However even at this feeling of great loss, he pulled himself up once more. Pulled from his belt the alcohol, pulling a piece of cloth free from it and soaking it. Beginning to clean and tend to Amp's wounds through his knowledges of medicine and healing. The monks had always taught him to not only lean on what he had learnt of the tapestry, but all methods of teachings. Still his wounds could wait, his concern still extended only to those around him before himself. Amp, the dragon within him, the spirits who aided him and his allies.

Feeling his use of English return he called out and asked, "Luci, are there other wounded." Wincing a bit as he felt a shock of pain from his wounds strike as he shifted to tend to more of his friend and patient, "Do we have medical supplies on-board. I'm... I'm unable to do anything beyond this with out such items."

Re: Interlude 1 - The Waking God

[I am not detecting any wounds, her life signs are weak though, I suggest waiting on Develiana so she can take her to the medical room and be put on an IV and monitored. I am afraid I must focus my energy on protecting us and getting out of here, I am having to fire on and avoid a good many obstetrical and we will be trying to brake out of here soon and I will not even be able to talk to you during that.]Passing from one demintion to another could take anything from no time at all to hours... interdeminational space didn't really follow any laws he understood. The spirit barriers did not exist in a 3D space and only seam to be when passing through them, but only exist between one 3D space and the same 3D space in another reality... It made little sense to him that you moved through it and came out in the same place as if you hadn't moved at all...

There was not much Huoshui could do save make sure she didn't crash again, keep her breathing, and the like... making sure she stayed stable wasn't to hard, her breathing got shallow but it didn't stop.

His own wounds though did need tended to, he was bleeding a good deal and he couldn't keep that up all day.

Re: Interlude 1 - The Waking God

Amp looked ok, but she was not conscious... Huoshui however did not look to well, his legs were covered in cuts and scrapes... one was injurred some, the other quite wounded and bleeding a good bit, but it was his back that was the problem. It looked as though metal crystals had grown out of his spine all the way over his back while tearing up through his skin.... it vaguely resembled the pattern of a spiders body. His avatar's markings where gone and she could see they had retreated under the metal spider... it was suffocating his avatar... It wasn't so much hurting it, but more like it had his avatar in a sleeper hold. She didn't know much about medicine but she know there wasn't anything she could do about this, if she tried to cut that metal out of him she would kill him. all she could do was try and stop the bleeding and get these two some where safer.

[His wounds need cleaned and wrapped, he will lose consciousness if he continues to bleed like this. Use the sheaths on the bed, his robes are stronger than some metals. ]

(Reminder: they just opened the wall up in a unused living-quarter for this. It is trashed by the way... lol dead spiders and shattered (and sharp) fragments of genomes where scattered about half the room. Many of the fragments though seamed like they lost resolution a few times before they completely de-ressed. Seamed the smaller they were the faster they lost resolution and came apart.)

Dev scanned the room until she found a source of water.  Then she moved quiclly to clean and bind the monk's wounds after she stopped the bleeding.  Although she had no formal training in the medical arts, she did know battle field first aid.  As she worked, gently as she could, she spoke to Huoshi,

"Do thou forgive me for the pain m'lord, but thou art most grievously injured!  Do tell me of the battle as it maun take thy mind off my ungentle ministrations."

Huoshui focused on breathing, taking what little he had learnt about body control to try to reduce his bleeding or at least gain a better understanding of how bad he was. "I am fine Devellana, I will live." Not fighting her helping him or her binding of his legs. Amp was stable and there was truly little they could do for her here and now. "It seems that this realm is harsh to those who walk the path of the Emperor Tiger. Should have suspected."

Folding the bulk of his Robe's jacket beside him as he lay there, feeling the infection at his back draining him and holding his soul at bay. Looking around them at the revealed defeated enemies, the damage to the ship, the entirety of the destruction they'd caused. "Someone who can't sacrifice anything can never change anything." The monk spoke finally after a moments silence from him, "I do not regret this, we have stopped it. The battle is not important my friend it is why we fought and what we achieved. You can see around you what we did, it is not beautiful or heroic. The beauty of what we did cannot be truly seen, for it is the lives we will pass and live ourselves. The sphere is defeated, besides you came here to aid us. You must have had your own conflicts while defending this path, tell me of the courage of a true knight."

Osman will use his knowledge of cosmology, despite seeing nothing but death, darkness and decay all about him.  He is meticulous and fair but easily defers to Raven as the supiorior pilot.

Looking at him, despite the maggots (metaphorically) crawling out of his eyes, he asks,"Lucy is a remarkable ship.  How did you come upon the bond with her?"

He considers each direction but also briefly wonders if spiritual directions are still possible such as what once was the deep or shadow umbra...fourth dimensional movement, as it were.

"When I first met Luci, it was as if an explosion had gone off; actually it had, the station she was docked at and I happened to be standing on at that time was blowing up. I had a ship, but it was in the lower bays and those had already been lost. Everyone who still could ran for the ships that were left, and I ended up on this one. They needed a pilot, I volunteered, and we evacuated to Mars. I didn't know then that she was alive though, I just left to go about my business. I was using an Infosphere terminal when she showed up and told me her name, I laughed at her and she shot me in VR. Didn't hurt my real body of course, though it did give me one helluva headache. Then after that I was approached by the monk and asked to join his group, and I've been Luci's pilot ever since."

Raven's talents were better suited for flying a course than ploting one, yet he did his best to help Osman as the bird sung under his breath,

'Good mornin' Universe, how are you?
Don't you know me? I'm your native son!
I'm on the ship they call the Lucid Nonsense,
I'll be gone 500 light-years when the day is done.

Workin' points with Osman at the Nav. Com,
Searching space, looking for a jump.
Then we'll hit the throttle and be gone,
If a spider tries to stop us he'll be a speed bump.

With a Mistryder standing watch & Ink as an engineer,
We'll survive to the end of our ordeal.
A mother wants her Amp back safe, Huoshui wants to meditate,
And I wouldn't mind a cold beer and hot meal.

'Good mornin' Universe, how are you?
Don't you know me? I'm your native son!

"Chanting and sea shanties are central to the worship of his Noodly Appendage.  Have you considered joining his congregation? I keep meaning to whip up a pamphlet or something....is the singing natural from the raven splicing or do you just like to do it?"

The thing that Osman was unsure about was the collapse of the singularity point.  He'd learned an awful lot about the cosmology that WAS, but he hadn't been able to brush up like he wanted.  He knew that one could go toward the shadowlands, high or low umbra, and he considered all of these....the wall that they'd created might not think to extend to each of them, thus he wasn't just thinking in four dimensions, but five.

Failing that, he examined each and every sensor feed that Lucy could feed him.  There had to be a way out, and he would find it.

Re: Interlude 1 - The Waking God

The Realm at time's dipped into other levels of reality but right now it was near completely in the middle umbra with a small bit touching on the upper, but all was walled off the same. The only way out Osman knew of that could get around the wall was the dream, but getting in there physically wasn't something many could figure out, and this place his noodly appendage talked about... 'backstage' was it? But from the sound of that place it was near impossible for them to get to.

They hit the wall again, this time though it was a little smother with the two engines, and at first the flow through the wall was steady and relatively 'easy'... and for the genomes, well those bastards hit the wall like it was water and flowed through it like it was air.... figures.

After a few minutes of hard pushing though lucy's drive started to draw far to much power from the other using up twice as much ether of them would use, and starting to over heat Osman's quite baddly. The ship slowed down to a crawl while Ink's went to work trying to regulate the power.

The ship almost came to a complete stop when the power regulated, but then part of Osman's drive just blew forcing Lucy's to do all the work. Inks had to work feverishly to get it back online quickly before the ship completely stalled out.

Thankfully she succeeds and the ship regains momentum and bursts out the other side, and are almost immediately under attack from pattern spiders that had just finished sealing up the weakness left behind not to long ago.

Osman was able to direct them though and Raven's piloting skills got them quickly away before to many got on them.

Space out there was a maze of thick compressed patterns, and both Raven and Lucy felt quite releaved when they finally got away from it into wide open space.
